Rasmus actually looked pretty sharp in pre season, so I can not agree (andycole9). Rasmus headed goal in pre was pretty much the same as one of Seskos chances today, but its irrelevant. Sesko deserves a fair shot at getting his engine runnning. I am just a bit skeptical that he comes on after Zirkzee this late and that he was the 10th penalty choice against Grimsby. That does not look like confidence, and without confidence, he will face a difficult time here.

He had an injury during the penalties. He was the penalty taker for his previous club. The lad does not lack confidence.

The fecking leap on the man, Ronaldo-esque. We need to start making full use of him in the air.
I can see him heading quite many of these crosses the new 10's are putting in. He's a monster in the air by the looks of it.

His movement is pretty good and is an incredible athlete. Hopefully with next 2 week of training, he will be ready for start

One positive I’ve noticed is that he seems quite good at sniffing out opportunities inside the box. He had a few good headers against both Grimsby and Burnley, and if we keep delivering quality crosses like we did today, there’s no doubt he’ll score goals.

I think he shows glimpses. Good ball control and some nice link up play until now plus some promising half chances. His athletisism should really help to be a success in the pl.

Atleast today we played to his strengths and he was visible. I feel he is not your skillful striker who will make you feel awed. He is a bit better than Hojlund because of his physical presence. Hopefully he gets that first goal.

He is very tall, that definitely helps. He better is a very full package, for now he looks oddly timid, but it is early days and he isn't at 100% (hopefully)

Mbuemo especially looks like he will find him a lot this season.
The Amad > Mbeumo > Sesko route will be dangerous. Cunha is a little bit more isolated on his flank. For the first time in a year or two it felt like watching us be the threatening team and constantly have a danger presence from our right flank, and the pressure was high even after Cunha left. There were a few instances also where a 1v1 against Mbuemo has them just forfeit and let him have the ball . Also we seem to win a lot of corners and Mbeumo executes them quite well. Imagine having Maguire & Sesko menacing defence on the end of all these aerial deliveries. Will be glorious once they gel.

6.5? Somehow this feel good to me that he is cautious(/timid) and not seeming cocky or overly confident only to implode under the pressure cooker. Better he let the playing do the talking. Let's hope he is just ingesting the atmosphere and acclimatizing. Reports have him 'in first, out last' at training, so he seem quite the professional.

Thats definitely good to hear. Although, that may be down to him still not having a house. Maybe he just needs a place to stay ;)

I actually think Cunha is coming in too central and leaving Dorgu on his own. Dalot had much more to play off today and we looked much better in that side. I'm looking forward to starting to have an aerial threat, feels like we haven't had one since Ibra.

I noticed that too. Have a feeling though, that Ruben told them (the wingback) to get their shit together and get involved. Both outside CBs really joined the play todays as well. Fairly sure, that didn't just pop up but was always the plan.

I like him, but we are idiots not having an experienced striker to take to pressure off a bit, even if it had to be Vardy or DLC.

I think that game is more made for Mbeumo to be the striker with Amad as a number 10, if Cunha can’t make it.
Disagree, if he's fit Mount needs to be playing against City, Amad is probably a better fit as sub against tired legs in this one

Yeah, I think the CBs joining in was a small glimmer of positive play in the second half of Grimsby, so I think you're right it being a direct instruction. That being said Yoro and Mazraoui always have done that and if Martinez/Shaw can stay fit we should have good players for those roles.

I maybe recalling incorrectly, but wasn't one of them by our much maligned LWB?

He certainly has the physical prerequisites, Ibra was oddly enough one of the fastest 0-5m around and I think that was key to his success next to the taekwondo black belt training, would be very interesting to know that stat for Sesko, if he can shuffle all that mass he will be able to shine.

I've definitely seen him be very quick to accelerate over the first 5m in his brief appearances, but he's not quite got the agility or balance Ibra did (who does?). So if he can add that lateral movement and balance to his game, he will be an absolute specimen.

I wasn’t factoring in Cunha or Mount for that game. Of course if Mount is fit then he plays, but that’s unlikely. Amad should be starting because City struggle against pace.

That's reassuring that he is quick then, big players like that will cramp if they are too active to lactic acid so they have to rely on that type of short burst play quite a lot, as for Ibra yeah that positional/spatial awareness and limb control was just unique, Isak has a little bit of that. On paper Sesko should shine with these attributes.

He's here to play football, not auditioning for the next Captain America. So many posts about his physique, he is supposed to be the next Man United top striker.

We need to see some world class ability from him.

He is Captain Slovenia :smirk:

With Sesko, I hope people can at least see, he's much better than Rasmus, he can actually get involved and be dangerous.
He will struggle, not due to system, due to the fact he struggled in Germany with a lot. He will be a decent signing but dont expect the 2nd coming of lewa

Very early days, but I think it's fair to say Hojlund would have had an extra 20 pages in his thread about how he's the worst striker of all time if he'd put in the same performances so far.
No, hojlund wouldn't of been close to having a chance

I'm officially concerned. He looks nowhere near a 80M striker.
I'm concerned as well, especially because Eketike already scored 3 goals in 3 games for Liverpool. They scored similar amount of goals in Bundesliga last season. He looked clumsy with the ball and he doesn't seem to be very technical, from what I've seen. With Mbeumo and Cunha I saw a lot of potential, but I am not sure if Sesko is that good tbh. It's still too early to judge him, but I haven't been really impressed with his performances so far.

Ekitike plays for the champions though

He will be fine once he’s up to speed. Even today he was getting into good positions to score.
