I am still not convinced by him to be honest. He scored (luckily) but how he didn't score the initial Bruno pass is poor

We looked worse without him but that doesn't mean he is the best we can do/get. I'd want us to get to a striker to really challenge him, not a back up

Its frustrating to me that in moments he just plays in a way that comes across as passive. He doesn't use his physical strength nearly enough.

Real shame he had to come off. Thought he was much better all round today - still don't quite know what he was doing laying on the ground for so long for the 2nd goal, but hey ho.

He was obviously convinced the defender took him out when through on goal. If he had stayed down as long as Bruno in the last few mins when he thought he was fouled then he wouldnt have been up to score the goal

I think he needs to be more clinical, but the goals are coming.

Wtf was that pinball opportunity we didn’t get a proper replay of

Non-Penalty Goals in the league for new signings outside the PL

Sesko- 11 (1637 minutes played)
Gyokeres- 11 (2117 minutes played)
Ekitike- 11 (1811 minutes played)
Woltemade- 7 (1701 minutes played)
Impressive.

We're a much better team with him now as the players are trying to find him with crosses. Can't do much holding up when Konate is allowed to barge in your back with zero repercussions.

I remember in his first 10 games there were a bunch of posts about strikers being judged on their goals and that doing other stuff isnt going to count when you arent scoring.

Now hes scoring more open play goals than the rest and in less time and posters just ignore it.

Yeah, both were a bit odd for doing that. Guess paid off in the end as VVD had no idea where he was.

Hope the injury doesn't see him miss any games, looked bright today.

United needs a SECOND striker. The main reason Liverpool got back in the game today is because United had no striker when Sesko went out. United should look to Tottenham for competition for Sesko. Either Richarlison Or Muani. A second striker is as pressing and important as a midfield or defence reinforcement

Missed this post before. You want a striker who has scored 1 goal as backup to Sesko? Zirkzee has 2 and has barely played

Absolutely baffling that the first 2 comments I read are negative after a good performance and a goal in just 45 minutes.

Screams of a weird agenda against the player.

The dippers could not cope with him. Virginia van Dip and Iavholdofhim Konate were both really struggling to keep him in check, it was disappointing to see him replaced at half time - especially once Amad went and threw the dippers a lifeline.

Glad he scored again though, he is improving all the time.

I still havent seen a good replay of the incident. Commentators said he felt he was pushed but with how he just about got a delayed shot away that was a weak effort I wont be surprised if its one of those where he draws the foot back to place his shot and the defender tangles the foot impeding him and stopping him from getting the real effort away. That would make sense to me why he looked like he felt it was a stonewaller. Regardless he sees we're still on the attack and imo he gets up relatively quickly for a player convinced he should have had a penalty and thats why we get the goal. That and Bruno putting his header into a dangerous area for the goalkeeper to deal with

Muani and Richarlison? Really?

We weren't the same when he went off and was expecting the worst after we gifted them their first goal. A credit to his input in that first half.

Like all united players, I desperately want him to be great, and his contributions this season have been vital. But I'd like to see him play with more force and use that big frame to his advantage. He's got a lot in his locker already, and that is very encouraging, I'd just like to see him add more to his overall game which will help him get better.

I don't think that needs to be called a weird agenda, it's just an observation.

I know goals aren't anything but I find it really annoying how the media are treating Ekitike like the best thing since slide bread, even though Sesko has better output.

He’s brilliant. We look like a way worse team when he’s not on the pitch.

He had a brilliant Zlatan moment in the first half, skipping past 3 defenders. The potential is frightening.

Dont you think you should judge the overall performance and not your perception of what more he could do as well?

All players can do better. Bruno has the ability to set up 5 goals and score 2 more every game. The good news is hes 22 so most likely goals like today's from close range are just the start

It is his first season in the prem, he's still learning. Has great sense for goal but he has got to put on some muscle. I believe he will come good.

If it was a one off post I probably would have, but I was directly responding to someone who said they were not convinced, and was simply adding a perspective about what I am seeing.

It's also not like these threads aren't peppered with generalised comments about a player outside of their specific performance on that day.

He was obviously fouled, I’m not sure what you were watching.

He’s a had a very good first season. His movement has come leaps and bounds as the season has gone on. He gets others involved too.

Happy for you to stick to me mate I didn’t see him making it to 10

Hes looking more comfortable in the team. Cant believe how long they looked at his goal trying to screw us there.

He was very good until the injury. Hope it isn’t more than a small knock. Vital part of our attack now and has a great attitude

Scored with his dick today. Saw someone call him a Seskoffender. I don't like it but I don't exactly hate it.

Excellent goal, maybe the first time in his career he has scored with his balls

Happy for him.

The goals have helped him settle and we’re seeing a bit more personality and bonding with his teammates. I can be critical of him at times but he’s had a decent season and has shown some nice technical bits in the last few games. If he develops even further he’s gonna be scary within a couple years.
