We look much better as a team with him on the pitch. Yes he needs to be more clinical and his pressing needs to improve but his hold up play and his presence in the box makes us much better and no one else in the squad can offer that.

Really like him up front. With Mbeumo second half it just wasn't working again and the game flipped in out favour once he was brought off. Mbeumo looked good on the right hand side and did really well in the first half with multiple dangerous balls in and setting up attacks

Hope he’s OK for the final 3 games. On a great scoring streak and needs to keep that going until the end.

It's a good enough debut season. 12 goals, possibly few more over last 3 games.

He strikes me as the kind of CF who will only ever score 12 or so goals a season.

There will always be mitigating factors like injury, or first season, or new manager who doesn’t get him, or extended run of poor form which gets in the way of his season.

I really want to like him and hope he does well here, but just can’t escape the thought he’s our new Martial.

Except he’s nothing like him as a player?

Remember to charge your flux capacitor before you go back into the future to see how our other players turn out!

Excluding penalties, the highest goalscoring CFs in the league after Haaland are the likes of Pedro and Thiago on 14 goals each. The bar Sesko has to reach in terms of goals to fully justify being our starting CF isn't that high.

As is he's had a good enough first season for me to feel comfortable backing him as our first choice CF next season. It would just be good to replace Zirkzee with a more useful second CF.

I like his attitude. He seems to have settled in with the team very well. Glad to see Cunha and Sesko celebrating.

Hopefully he becomes a main player in United winning the league and CL in the near future.

Not sure but him scoring and being in a good run seems to have coincided with Amad and Mbuembo being off form.

We need all of them to be firing next season.

He hasn't learned much over the past three years, why should that change? And Toney? What is he better at that Sesko could actually learn from him?
Bizarre that you think this is the same player that was playing in the Austrian league. A reminder that simply being a watcher of the Bundesliga doesn’t make you an expert on football players in the Bundesliga. He’s a far better player than he was 3 years ago.

Very odd take. He is absolutely nothing like Martial as a player.

What on earth are you on about?

He's 3rd in the league for non-penalty goals per 90 behind Haaland and Kroupi. Can't ask for much more than that in his first season especially.

Especially when the first half of the season say limited minutes and the whole team being awful.

Very different players. In fact they couldn’t be more different

The weird agenda people have for this kid is baffling! He has had a good first season and has definitely improved as the season has progressed and people just want to complain about what they feel will happen in the future with him.. Judge him on the now and see what the future holds, instead of bringing him down with theoretical nonsense, most likely due to your pre conceived opinion on him that won't let you admit he's doing better than you gave him credit for!

Love him. He gives his all, and things are starting to happen for him. He’s going to be a top top forward barring injury
We need our midfielders to continue providing good service to him. That’s been our problem for years now. Either low performing midfielders or non scoring strikers. Hope we’re turning the corner now.

Truly living up to your username pal

He's had a good second half to his debut season with us. He needs to keep improving, but I think he can be excellent and hope that, within a season or two, he can be one of the top strikers in the PL.

He’s 22 years old, he’s 6’5 athletic, fast, great touch and has a high Football IQ. His football hero is Zlatan and at times he looks a little like him when he’s on the ball and confident.

If he scores 12-15 PL goals and 18-25 goals overall then that’s a huge upgrade and what we’ve had recently, we should look at Lewandowski for 1 year from him to learn from and then we’ll see the best of him when he’s aged 24 to 28.

Considering he had to play under Amorim for the first half of the season, he’s done a good job so far.

Lewandowski is 37! Player-coach, maybe, but he would expect to come over as a starter. But 37 in our league?

There are still some morons in the fanbase who think he shouldn't start if he doesn't look like top quality every minute of every game.

Do they not understand that sometimes centre forwards can go large spells of games where they're peripheral figures and don't even touch the ball, because that's the nature of playing centre forward! They're almost completely reliant on being served by the rest of the team.

Haaland is anonymous in many games but he's kept on because Guardiola knows that's the nature of the position, and he will get on the end of chances when they arrive. We (both Carrick and the fans) need to have the same patience with Sesko. I'd start him every game and not take him off unless injured or the game is secured.

You can't pick and drop a centre forward like a yoyo like we've been doing with Sesko, you need to give him a run of consistent starts and let him know that he's our starting centre forward.

Watching highlights again, the movement for the goal was nice. As soon as the cross from Shaw went over his head, he span behind Van Dijk so he's goal side in anticipation that the ball could back from the other direction. It's the sort of thing that you'd think everyone would do but strikers that lack killer goalscoring instinct fail to make these types of movements proactively and instead are constantly reacting.

Hes scored 13 and 14 in previous seasons. He's 22. There arent many strikers who get worse as they get older towards their prime

What do we think - was he fouled in the build up to his fingernail goal?

Shame he went off yesterday as played well

Confirmed hurt by Konate
That was fecking ridiculous!
A player gets banned for three games for grabbing an opponents pony tail and yet a player running full pelt behind an opponent that is doing the same and intentionally pushing him knowing full well what the outcome is going to be is not even cautioned.....Unbelievable!

Agreed. Should be a yellow card for Konate, reckless behaviour.

Yeah he was, if they didn’t give a goal they’d be pulling it back to review that, which would have been a pen and a possible red for denying goal scoring opportunity.

Sesko was always earmarked as someone whose game was still incomplete and developing with those that followed his story being aware he's expected to start becoming the player he's destined to be in his next season or two.

It's very encouraging because he looks to be directly on course in terms of his development. Next season could be his true breakout one after a very solid initial season here.

What a strange, strange take.

I was always adamant we will look better with him up front, simply for a reason he's a great outlet. Movement is fantastic, other stuff are I'd say less "consistent" but nevermind, he occupies defenders all the time and things are happenning when he's on the pitch.

I hope he can work on his balance a bit, strength is not a problem but he is put off balance very easily. Understandable if he's coming from a different league.

Not gonna lie, I have high hopes for the kid.

That's my small hill I'm willing to die on. Funny thing is that I don't even mean that as criticism of him as a player. I just think he put his tools together quite young quite good. To spin this into a real compliment: he learned much faster than other strikers.

Since then he is a good "classic" striker who regularly scores a bunch of goals. That's actually quite good, I just don't think he has a much hugher ceiling than this.

I think he's pretty underrated in the build-up. He tends to have a lot of decent touches that help the team progress. Still plenty to work on, but I think he can definitely improve next season, if we make the right additions to the team.

At 22 Zlatan scored 13 goals for Ajax in the Dutch league.

Sesko has scored 11 despite his limited minutes at the same age as his idol in a much harder league.

I think in two years he’ll be scoring 25 goals a season easy.

He's a massive upgrade on Hojlund and I see a lot of skills which can be refined to be even better and improved on, which is always a good thing considering he's had a solid season.

Next season he'll know where Bruno, etc want him to be when receiving the ball which will improve him also.

I made the bold call to include his last name in my FFL teamname, and I've rarely felt so vindicated.

I know he didn't score from it, but that cross field pass that Bruno made just before our first goal is the type of position that Hojlund never found. It's also the type of service we rarely offer Sesko. It would be great if our wingers or fullbacks were capable of that pass rather than having to constantly rely on Bruno.

I agree the full backs and maybe even a CM need to be capable of playing a pass that can unlock the opposite defence.

We need to take the over reliance on Bruno creating something away from our play, otherwise we'll struggle to transition whenever he leaves.

We'd also prefer him to be in and around the box more, as hes a good finisher.
