You're talking like you haven't even watched the matches and are just stat reading

He came close to winning the match for us vs Burnley

Keep the game for Sesko simple for now. Give him opportunities for headers.

We also need top re-programme the wing-backs & #10s to lop the ball into the pen box. They just arent used to having any presence in the pen box for a long time.

I was so fecking angry in the last minutes of the game because we fecked about and didn't put in a few crosses for this guy and look what he can do.

He's ready to start and kick on. That was a very encouraging performance. The boy has a leap Ronaldo would be impressed with!

That's called game management, spamming in crosses with a min or two to go when you're a goal up and have the ball at the oppositions end of the pitch is just asking for trouble

It was 2-2 at the time and we were looking for a winner with a 6ft something target man up front we could have attempted more crosses. We also had Zirkzee on the pitch and he's not what I would consider a short dude.

Exactly, if you listen to the post match interview when Amorim was saying what we started to do right. He mentioned having more players inside the box rather than outside. What is interesting for me is that the managers wants more players in the box but our players for some reason just didn't do that.

Hopefully this changes now we have Sesko.

The wingers need to remember it's football and not wrestling anymore. And at least Sesko has different facets to his game beyond heading like creating spaces for others.
Gykores would have required ball infront of him or offered the role of a better wrestler

This has been one of the peeves over the last 6 months or so. People blamed Rasmus for not meeting balls / crosses played into the box but invariably he was isolated with no support.

I actually really wanted Sesko, and I thought that from the realistic possibilities, he would be the best striker we could buy. But after his first games I must admit that a little doubt creeps in. I know it's early days, and Sesko will get better for us. But he has started at a low level. A really low level. Højlund would have done better in the 4 games.

Sesko has been completely anonymous in all the minutes he has played for us. The game against Grimsby in particular is worrying. He seemed overmatched by defenders from League 2 for over 90 minutes. It was a performance at a worryingly low level. No United player was good in that game, but only Bayindir was worse than Sesko.

I assume that Sesko needs time to get used to the league and the level, and then he will get better. But I'm - a little - worried now. And before I get slaughtered here, I want to emphasize "a little worried" - not panicked.
..based on what exactly? his 4 goals in 32 league appearances last season? I think he had less shots on targets than games.

It is also one of the reason why I wanted to keep Hojlund but alas.

He launched into space almost

It's the same problem with Hojlund. Unless he gets fed a better service, he'll struggle to score, then he loses confidence, then everyone here will get on his back

At least with Sesko there are a lot of us who have warned about him not looking like a world beater at Leipzig, so I hope people dont expect him to go straight in and deliver a prime Kane. He needs time and patience. I hope he gets his first goal soon, before the media start their witch hunt

He's being eased into the side which is a good idea. Remember he's 22 and comes from the Bundesliga which isn't the same level as the prem. He is one of the biggest talents around in world football and I think Reuben is conscious of throwing him in like Hojlund last year and flogging him to death destroying his confidence.

Glad he got a couple of chances towards the end, far more dangerous looking that Hojlund was last year even with semi decent crosses he nearly got himself a goal twice. Looking like a good player early on, no need to rush him in.

I suspect he will get game time after the international break with potential injuries to Cunha and Mount meaning we will have to bring him in or shuffle the forward line around a bit.

Yes, there was some good link up play. I also like the fact that he doesn't fight with the defenders, just one touch, lay off and move. Back to the more famiiar sight of Defenders chasing after Strikers.

Not sure if this was posted before but that is one crazy leap.

Well Sesko has demonstrated he can control the ball, link up and hold up the ball and actually get shots on goal. Hojlund wasn't even getting opportunities most games.

So I highly doubt that would be the case.

Some strong and scrappy hold up play leads to Šeško getting a good assist at the death for Slovenia to equalise against Sweden - great work from him!

Completely manhandled the Swedish defender there. Otherwise had a quiet game.

Did he? Doesn't seem to be accredited with it
It bounced at the back of the defender and changed direction, maybe that’s why it was not considered as an assist. He did good in that situation, but was worryingly anonymous for most of the match.

I saw someone said the final touch might have come off a defender. I managed to catch most of the second half and the service into him was absolutely terrible. He didn't make the most of the few touches he did get either, so an all-round poor game capped off with some strength to help his country get a goal at the end.

Not sure if the assist counts for him, but great work making himself an all-round ballache for the defenders.

Nice assist. Should've had two if the guy on the other end put his chance away in the first half.

Meh, more game time under his belt. Gyokeres didn’t score either

That’s just a part of playing up front for Slovenia. It’s not worrying at all when you look at the quality difference between the two teams and how Slovenia play.

For those who have watched him, beyond scoring, does he typically impact a game? In he a menace that puts himself about with plenty of touches or is he just a ghost during games that suddenly pops up with a goal from nowhere?

Former world player of the year George weah scored only 18 times for Liberia.

The game time will do him good but in comparison, Gyokeres was much more involved and quite good.

Sweden’s defence is not that good. I thought it was worrying he wasn’t more involved in the game and expected him to create more of a threat.
