Not his fault, but he is looking worse than höjlund.

Amorim is gonna ruin another 70m striker if we dont act quickly
 
Hojlund wasn't bad. Sesko isn't bad. People are fools if they can't see that it is the system that is bad.

Exactly. Hojlund showed his talent in our first season, it was clear the system was the issue and not him.
 
I feel like I'm giving the guy stick, when I'm generally not. He just isn't good and isn't what we need. We are so lightweight in midfield we have to have a striker who plays as a false 9 or drops deep and he's not that. And unfortunately, even as an out and out striker he's nowhere near this level. It was insanity to sign him for 70m instead of a CM.

I actually feel sorry for him.
 
6'5 forward and none of our players can manage a decent cross... absolute joke

None of our strikers produce the movement Haaland does. Just lookign at Gyökeres and his movement off the ball, and it shows the difference. He can learn it though, early days.
 
I haven't seen anything from him at United yet that indicates that Sesko is the answer to our attacking problems, or that he is even better than Højlund.

I thought he had some nice touches and runs at times, but it’s slim pickings. I would say I’m amazed that people are writing him off after watching a team fail to get the ball to another striker, but im not. The system is a complete mess once we get the ball past halfway.

My sentiments exactly.

Can’t even have a go at him. It was a completely ill thought out signing.
 
So what's the plan with him? No clear tactics to get him the ball, the one time Mazraoui played a ball in behind he controlled it perfectly and tested Donarumma. Why not try it again? We play some terrible football in terms of getting our forwards chances.
 
He's played 80mins today and had a grand total of 0 touches in the opposition box. No striker is doing anything with that kind of service. I'll keep harping on about it. It's not about Hojlund/Sesko or their movement or lack of movement. It's this fecking useless system and the useless head coach we have.

I know we’ve gone back and forth about Sesko but if you think Gyokeres makes any difference to this team, I can only laugh. He’d have exactly the same problems.
 
He never really looked that good in the Bundesliga in the first place, but it’s one of those where the system and the pressures of this club make it even harder.
 
How come Zirkzee comes on and we look much more compact. Sesko is a different striker but dropping deep helping out the midfield would help at times.
 
Good first half, sone very good hold up play, won a few first balls. Went missing in the 2nd half but I don’t recall any crosses going to him.

Terrible coaching that’s the issue. He’s using Sesko as a target man exactly the same as he did with Hojlund and ignoring both their qualities.

That might be because our midfield is virtually non existant, so Zirk helping out there helps us more I suspect

Mbuemo pretty much went up front though. Zirkzee didnt play up top, he was actually deeper.

Agreed, but i guarantee with the way we played today, haaland would have suffered. And with the more games like this, the confidence will drain.

I am not saying he does, but he has better movement and that's clear. Taking a full look at the team, its very difficult to build with our midfielders, neither are good at it, and that has a knock on effect everywhere.

On top of that our 10s played poorly, and our attacking wingback has no attacking talent.

A better midfield and with our 10s having a better game, and the movement off the ball makes a big difference. Today, probably very little.
 
One good run in behind where the keeper did well 1 vs 1. Did fine when the ball was played into him but we never found him inside the box. Our crosses were poor and not near him with City always favourite to win it

Looking better than Hojlund and Zirkzee last season but didnt look like he was going to score.
 
It's pointless when it seems we aren't reliant on him in our tactics at all. We don't cross or pass to him. Another young player we're going to ruin.

Marmoush outscored everyone, joined a better team that just beat us 3-0 without playing well and was their best player in defeat to Brighton their previous game
 
This thread should be locked until Amorim is gone. We could have R9 up top and he’d look horrendous. I’m going to have to admit I was wrong about Hojlund at this rate.
The formation doesn’t support a CF in the PL.
Can’t judge a CF playing under Amorim.
 
Looks rubbish. Service or no service. I know a world beater when I see one. He looks very very average.

I'm just saying 13 goals in a weaker league suggests he has some weaknesses in front of goal. Torres did randomly go from a similar output in Spain to prolific when he joined Liverpool, so it can be done. But it's a red flag as a risk.
 
Lets be honest if your left winger is Dorgu and your right winger is Mazraoui then Lewandowski and Haaland would struggle to score goals too. Amad is a bit better but ended up just smashing crosses into other players hoping the ball would rebound in and even Mbeumo who looked a good crosser before signing for us wasnt putting in particularly good crosses today.
