He’s gonna be a competent forward for us. Doesn’t have the extraordinary finishing ability you’d like, but his overall skillset is fine.

Is there? I watched him play for so long that I don't think there is much more to tap.

Still should be good enough for 15-20 goals a season.
You think he can get 15-20 PL goals in pretty poor United side, in his first season in the league, as a 22 year old... But also don't really rate his potential? Doesn't really add up.

That would be a really good return, it's the most difficult league, not many players hit over 20.

He had one moment where he was alone against their fullback, and he could have driven the ball forward or knocked it past and gone for a foot race against a tired defender, but instead he just did nothing with it. That was very disappointing - show some guts. Other than that, he won a header or two against VVD, which is nice, and he is surprisingly tidy with the ball.

Yes, that was the one moment I was annoyed at him. Thought he did well apart from that. You can see his overall play is a level above Rasmus. I don't think Rasmus would have played that delicate little through ball to put Cunha through on goal for example.
Hojlund can play. One memorable one I can recall was against City last December. He played a very good through ball for Bruno, but Bruno failed to covert the one vs one opportunity. 1:24 in this highlight.

Give the lad a chance !!! He’s hardly walked into a well oiled machine putting chances on a plate. He’s come into a stuttering club trying to put two wins together for the first time in a year. He’s got a really good touch and has scored a couple as well as a really good assist against Chelsea. The time to worry will be when he’s starting every game - as Hojlund did - and screwing up chance after chance.

Still early days but not impressed by him so far. Strong in the air but no other elite qualities. Ekitike produced a few surging runs today which I think Sesko would struggle to make. Lacks acceleration and technical ability.
They're different players so... Also I dont think he lacks techical ability, on the contrary.

Yes, I think he is a really good striker already. I just don't think that there is much potential left to improve further.

His touch and composure on the ball is night and day compared to Højlund. Seems like a clever footballer in general. Hope he gets the start vs. Brighton and can grab a goal.

That was one crap cameo. As I’ve said with him before, he has some good natural qualities but at this level, he needs to tighten his game. You need to be more assured and reliable in your control, split second decision making, passing etc all of which has been very inconsistent from his end. He’s obviously young and has never played in a league of this standard so we need to afford him that leeway.
Very harsh.

He's clearly still finding his feet. I feel there were times when I wanted him to be more brave. To drive at Liverpools backline like Cunha does and put them under pressure.

He's got the physical tools and skills to succeed at United. I'd just like to see a little more self-belief and selfishness to his game like he showed in Germany. I feel that will come with time.

If you look at Ekitike -- the minute he came on he was blasting the ball at the goal (ok, he missed by a mile), but he's someone who also played in Germany but has hit the ground running in the Prem. That's just natural confidence and once Sesko finds that he'll become a far more dangerous player for us.

We rarely kept the ball last 30 minutes or so, never mind getting to their half so he was isolated. He was good at Brentford and vs Sunderland.

Thought he looked good when he came on. He’s already got 2 goals in the league. He’ll start against Brighton and everybody in this thread will be singing his praises.

He was good against Sunderland but not so great last night. Thought for a guy his size, he was being bullied off the ball quite easily. Still early days though and hopefully he gets better over time as his ability was clearly visible against Sunderland

Could it be that Van Dijk and Konate are more talented, athletic, smarter and experienced than whoever plays in Sunderland's defence?

Spot on really, I felt the same, willing him to start running with the ball at them. Although one time he did slow things down be played a great ball to Cunha.

Man Utd 4:2 Brighton New
Really want to see him start firing we spent a lot of money buying him...

Him getting more involved in the game turned the first half in our favour. Deserved a goal

Shame he didn’t get a goal because once he got in the game, he was a real handful. Much better type of player for us than Hojlund last season. I’m liking him and he will get some more goals soon. Looks comfortable in this side.

Quality CF. Should've done better on his big chance but I just really like his overall play and he gets in very good positions. Great assist.

Some nice touches and passes (some poor as well), but he doesn't seem to be very physical, which is odd. PL defenders do not give much space, he needs to make/find space better.

He's so much sharper on the ball than I had expected. That snappy turn and pass to release Mbeumo is hopefully something we will see a lot more. It's something we just didn't have last season.

Probably should come away from that game with a goal, but the overall performance was really encouraging. I like what I'm seeing.

Not entirely worried about him, but I'd still start Mount over him fitness pending.

Though would be also tempted to start him next game against Forest - they're having a dreadful season and I fancy him to bag a goal or two..

It's so odd how he can go from looking like a complete donkey to world class from one minute to the next.

He's still young, younger than both Ekitike and Woltemade, hopefully he can eventually manage to just do the world class bits for 90 minutes.

Great little touches during the game, you can tell he's really starting to come into his own

I like. Gary Neville seems quite determined to discredit him at every opportunity, but I think he’s an extremely promising young striker.

Decent workrate today, which is something I thought was lacking in his previous games.

More than just a goalscorer. He's showing he can link up with teammates and Mbeumo is a good foil making runs off him, Sesko can control a ball and find a pass to find him. Nice assist
