The good thing for Sesko vs where we’ve been previously is that we have the options to swap him in and out and take the pressure off him.

It always felt unfair on Hojlund that we had nothing to swap him with but we have some great attacking options now and I expect he’ll be used in and out of the side which is what you’d ideally have for a young lad in a new league.

Good and not so good at times, but that's fine.

I actually think Neville forgot he made an assist, because he seemed a bit over the top with him. also never mentioned that Cuhna and Mbeumo have loads of PL experience over him too,.

I really like him. He has all the gameplay attributes I’d want in a striker and while all these qualities aren’t fully developed, I can see the ability in him to be an all round striker.

Goal scoring will be his toughest hurdle but I will judge him over a much longer time period on that and he’s scored at a decent enough rate so far.

Sweet assist for the third goal. He doesn't seem to be a gifted shooter though, but we luckily have those in the team and he is capable of finding them as the linking big man.
His clean ballstriking was actually one of his biggest weapons at Leipzig. He's snatching right now, needs to go low and hard rather than just trying to blast the ball into the top corner.

Thought Neville was talking absolutely horseshite regarding Sesko in his interview after the game. Completely needless considering he had an assist. Turned into a right gobshite.

It’s just standard Neville. He gets something in his mind and can’t let it go. He was talking about Sesko not settling about two minutes after providing the Mbeumo assist.

Shame about that missed chance before half time but it’s hard to complain when our overall attacking play is vastly improved. That front three is a massive handful for defences.

Thought he was quietly excellent today. The turn and pass to Mbuemo especially. The team were just able to play off him which is something we've lacked for a long time and even stupid things like winning flick ons. We really started clicking once we got him involved in the game, different point in the game but the difference was stark when Zirkzee took over. I think we've snagged a really good player here.

Yeah weird that Neville is refusing to acknowledge that Seskos been doing well. Same with Redknapp. Especially weird as Neville keeps trying to praise gyokeres who has been shit and dominated by multiple defenders already.

Strikers ultimately will be judged on goals but Seskos has brought so much more to us than what we had before, such a good reference point for the others to play off of. Excellent assist too.

Physically, aerially, I think he's got the better of every center back he's played against. His touch is really good, and we're starting to see some dribbling today too which he has in his game. I think he's clearly showing some good link up and understanding of movement and spacing with Cunha and Mbeumos, so only good things from me. Delighted with his signing and think he fits us perfectly.

He is doing fine and offers a great asset in the build up. But he needs to work on his finishing and instinct in the box. Its lacking.

Won the ball back for the first goal too, iirc.

As far as a striker’s performance goes, the only thing missing was the goal and he could’ve got one.

One thing we lack as good delivery from wide, and if that ever comes he’ll thrive.

The build up for Mbeumo’s first was first class.

He's a huge upgrade on Hojlund, make no mistake about it.

Will get his fair share of goals plus to be honest if Mbeumo and Cunha are firing we don't necessarily need a 30 goal a season striker anyway. He can contribute in other ways too.

He was solid. Got his assist. Can't ask for more when we need to grind results under immense presure.
Team above any player. He played his part.

I think the massive difference between him and Hojlund for me is that even when he isn't scoring or assisting (though he did asssist today) he generally offers a lot lot more in way of build up and link up, which helps the team way more to help others find the net if he isn't. He also looks way more comfortable in this league and not only has much better technique but is far more capable of winning the ball for us. Been very happy with him so far and he seems genuinely passionate for it, I loved his reaction to Cunha's goal.

I always felt for Hojlund a little because it did feel like it unfairly rested on his shoulders a lot when he clearly wasn't ready, but Sesko looks more ready for this league and as I said above even when he isn't scoring himself, it's clear he has a much bigger contribution to the overall team performance than Hojlund. Honestly it feels like a win for both United and Napoli at this point, everybody's happy.

I like. Gary Neville seems quite determined to discredit him at every opportunity, but I think he’s an extremely promising young striker.
Think you were banging his drum for a long time weren’t you, even as far back as the Euros, how are you liking him so far? Like you I think he’s showing a lot of promise.

I wasn't sure about this signing to be honest. He didn't score very many goals in Germany last season and just from watching compilations, he didn't look like a very good technical player.

It's clear that I was wrong about his general play, which is a lot better than I expected it to be. His hold up play, ball control and passing is all pretty good.

I do think we still look a bit like we have no one in the box when someone has it out wide and his I don't sense a huge amount of killer instinct in front of goal just yet, but overall I'm pretty happy with how he has started.
Aye, he’s deceptively good on the ball, think he’ll end up a really good singing long term, I also think he knows how to use his physicality a lot better than some of our other striker signings over the last few years which is so crucial to succeeding in the PL.

Just like Amad saying him and Mbeumo are developing their relationship the more they play together, Sesko also needs that time too with the players around him. He's already got 2g/1a. Offer him the time on the pitch and we'll see what he's about.

He will come good. He isn't getting much service currently on the side.

Happy to see him knocking down long balls and combining with the attacking midfielders. Happy to see him get an assist today, and thought he had a lot of good moments.

Yea, he’s a player I’d been following for a few years now and he was my first choice this summer (although I wouldn’t have been mad at Ekitike either). I am very pleased with how he’s coming along so far.

My only concern would be slightly regarding his utilisation in this system. We have a 6’5 aerial monster in a team not configured to cross the ball. We have two left footed wingers on the right, and now two right footed players on the left. I think he’ll be a good striker for us, but I am not sure that we will maximise his heading ability, aside from long balls from the goalkeeper.

He needs to be protected, there's ability there. We need to know when to be patient especially as we have Cunha and Mbeumo who should be the main threat at the moment. He's not at his prime and shouldn't be judged as if he was.

Still not getting the service to him, few times Yoro could had made an attempt to give a cross but passed it sideways.

Sometimes just a cross in might create goal, but we seem to want to recycle it, drag our wing back, and then do the same play again. Just switch it up, he's 6 foot 5.

Also, he's good at getting knock on with his head, not bad with build up play and he's shown capable of dribbling out of danger.

Bit of a classic Giroud for France type game where he wasn't great or anything, but his teammates and coaches probably felt he did well overall and when you're not playing great possession football, it's nice being able to hit it long without it coming back immediately.

I thought he was excellent, besides the chance he missed of course. Link up play was very, very good and the little touch and pass for the 3rd goal was class. Also encouraging that he at least got into a good enough position to miss that first half chance. 2 goals and an assist, and it will only get better from here.

Its crazy how Nevilles trying to exaggerate his struggles while saying gyokeres is playing well

I like his performances so far. Clear that he is a quality player with his link up play. The goals will come, but he is playing his part as part of a functioning front 3, which we didnt have at all last season

The best summary of his performance is how we completely lost control of the game when he came off. We couldn't keep possession as soon as the ball went beyond midfield.

Had a decent game, his ability to win aerial balls is very important.Unlike last season that every out ball was coming back to us faster than a ball thrown against a wall.

He will benefit more from a decent LWB who can cross the ball from the wide position ,unfortunately Dorgu is not (for now) that.

He has great understanding with Mbuemo as well Cunha/Mount and isn't selfish for a striker.

Goals will come with more match sharpness, very pleased with him and his workrate so far and it's clear as a day he's big upgrade on Hojlund.

His hold up and ability to to stitch the play in the final third is excellent.

We couldn’t keep the ball when he and Casemiro went off.

Also, feck Neville.

Did he really say Gyokeres is playing well? I know Neville prefers strikers with elite finishing but thats just not a fair assesment. While Sesko needs to get better at being at the right place in the box and finishing his dinner, he is still a vital part of our play and provides a fantastic outlet in our build up so he is a marked improvement on what we had before.

Looks a bit heavy on the ball at times and is a bit slower than I thought.

His link up play is good for a young striker.

Still want to see a fantastic finish that is not a tap in before I get my hopes up too much. That chance he missed yesterday was the type of goal I need to see more of but he has still approx only had under 5 league starts.

Yeah, on the latest overlap. Said he really likes Gyokeres and he's playing well. He's been completely invisible against any half decent side he's played

Was never a Sesko fan and he should've scored yesterday, but he works hard, he fits in with the others, compare that to Zirkzee and Hojlund, boy what a difference, that new scout might actually be the real deal.

Gary probably read that thing in the Athletic and thought, yeah, a bunch of agents probably know what they're talking about.

Thought he was really good. He is physical, he has a good touch, he creates space for himself with those turns and he looks to set up others. One of those 9s whose assists and hockey assists will be as important as his goals.

His size, speed and aerial ability preiccupies centre backs and this creates a lot of space for the 10s. Which if I understand right, is one of the main asks of him in this system.

He has scored. He has assisted. He got neither but played a huge part in that Chelsea win with that flick for Mbuemo. He is 10 games in. In a new country and league. He is doing fine. He's just an easy target for the rage bait idiots that make money from slating United.
