He was up against Milenkovic and Murilio on his own and virtually had no service.
He is still getting used to the physicality of the league but still contributing to the team in the process.
He is going to be quality for us.

I wouldn't even blame that. He was just off it as were several other players, looked like his feet weren't connected his brain, at times he was tripping all over himself at times under very little pressure.

Poor performance from him, but he can do better, we've seen it already.

Hojlund was getting mercilessly shit on for similar performances and he was less experienced. Sesko isn't a veteran either, but he isn't exactly a complete rookie, too. And I have yet to see anything to make me think he has something about him. Looks clumsy and slow. He just isn't what was needed and this team is just too shite to assist him in his development.

I kinda agree, part of me doesn't wanna be too harsh on him but honestly it's hard to disagree with anything you said. There are moments, physical duels, a big body like him, just can't lose.

He was poor especially in the second half. I just wished we had also signed someone like Giroud to sub in when our main striker has a very off game.

Yep, had a quiet game and we looked strangely disjointed, baffling that people are writing him off now. But maybe that’s the modern way, knee jerk instant gratification?

Woltemade?

Oh come on, no one said his name before, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

United's Head of Recruitment was brought in from the Bundesliga though...

but he pushed for the obvious option he knew already from his previous club.

Woltemade's stats for last season were in general better than Sesko's, though I thought all the talk was Woltemade being nailed on for Bayern.

Sesko is still over a year younger than Woltemade, mind, and Woltemade didn't really do anything until last season. 22 is still young for a striker and Sesko still has quite a lanky frame - he might need a full pre-season at the club to toughen up a bit more for the league. Of more concern than his potential strength is he needs to find a bit more mental grit and anger from somewhere.

If a player is having a poor game technically but is generally putting in the effort then they'll get the benefit of the doubt from me but Sesko was frustratingly aloof yesterday.

I like him but today was not it.
Whole attack looked off it and he should've been subbed.
Touch and reading of the game was woeful today.
Not ready to write him off yet but he needs to do better.

Can’t say I’ve seen anything of merit to justify his price tag as of yet, not so much of a glimpse. Yesterday was a stinker.

It's the lack of any sign of quality beyond being big that concerns me, woltemade looks on another level technically

Sesko will come good. He’s just not sharp at the minute. Regular minutes under his belt and better understanding with his team mates and he’ll come good.

One thing I will say to his defense is that some of the passes to him were really awful. A technically better player might have controlled them but the others need to improve timing and weight of their passing.

The whole team were awful 2nd half. Mbeumo couldn’t beat his man, Cunha was struggling, Bruno was anonymous. Casemiro was the most effective but gave the ball away a lot.

So not going to knee jerk like some of you here and say he’s not good enough for this level

Exactly he has absolutely no one to provide competition

He’s played like 6 games. Don’t knee jerk so soon
He didn't exactly set Germany alight either though. People who watched him beforehand aren't just using 6 games as a sample size, they're using his career to date. Hence why people were concerned when we signed him

Yeah there is more negative than positive right now

Why are you so miserable all the time? We don’t know how anyone of them will play in the next match
VDV and Romero are up there with best in league, desperately needs someone to learn from as well who has experience of handling a CB partnership

27 g/a last season in 45 matches, in a season where he wasn’t the main striker. I’d say that he did well.

13 league goals with very inconsistent performances. Ask any of our resident German fans what they thought of him over the course of a bl season. As said, he has potential but he needs to show more now as our starting striker if we want to qualify for Europe

As I said he wasn’t playing as the main striker last season, he was a little deeper. His all round game is good, we need to play it to him more often

He had that one moment when he took in a difficult ball, controlled it under preasure and managed to keep it whilst others made runs around him and he found someone thought that was great.

For most of the games he is kind of on the outskirts looking in and he should have had a goal today with that one the defender missed the header then he fluffed the control.

Just a wait and see but doesn’t seem to be getting that many chances.

This has been done to death. Why have you left out cup goals against Bundesliga and champions league teams to fit your narrative. He scored 21 goals last season. Being German doesn’t mean that you’re automatically able give excellent opinions on player potential vs someone who isn’t German. Would you listen to every English person’s opinion on a player in the premier league.

Cunha - a Brazilian international with plenty of experience in the premier league - didn’t score any goals as our striker in similar minutes. We’re not going to get loads of goal output from our centre forward regardless of who we play, so let the kid develop.

Also, we’re one point off the top four - of course we can qualify for Europe with him playing. In fact, as a % we’ve lost less games with him starting than not. You’re being dramatic over one poor game.

I think United managers sometimes don’t do their players any favours. They don’t seem to know when to take someone out of the firing line. It happened with Hojlund, when Ten Hag kept playing him through that long spell of poor form in his first season.

It's still early days to say Amorim will repeat that with Sesko, but it was obvious early in the second half yesterday that this wasn’t the game for him. He was completely anonymous until Amad’s goal, with just four touches in that period. For his own good, Amorim should’ve taken him off.

Fear it happens next week against Spurs pair

If it does, then it does.

He hasn't scored a million goals sure and he was poor yesterday (as were most of the team tbf) but overall he's looked solid.

I think if you were expecting a 20 goal a season man then you might be disappointed but he's up front on his own and for most games played a strong part in us improving.
People gave Hojlund two years, this lad barely gets two months.

Thought it was a poor signing right from the start, was hoping Arsenal got him.

Kneejerk but he's not going to make it here.
