Think at times he’s trying to do a bit too much with the ball. Like he gets it under control then has to try and beat someone, drag back or dust turn away with the ball when the option was just to pass it and move on.

Will say at full pelt without the ball he’s rapid. Cunha and someone had a head start on him and he caught and passed them both easily.

He does good things in game but just needs to find his shooting boots. Not getting as many chances as you would like

I was worried when he didn’t want to take a penalty against Grimsby. He seems a little timid which belies his frame and appearance.

I do have high hopes still though.
I'm sure Amorim explained that was due to him being injured or something. He took pens as his last club and also dispatched the Grimsby one with no fuss so not concerned about that.

I think long term Sesko will become a very good player for us. Our attack isn't as good when he doesn't play.
Confidence is pretty key to younger players, much like Dorgu, who not very long ago was classed as not good enough by many posters on here.

Obviously there is bias here as he plays for us but lets be honest had he gone to Newcastle(or Arsenal) and put in the performances for them he has for us so far most on here would be saying that we dodged a bullet there.

He has time on his side but he has not been good so far this season , need to see a big improvement from him or it its groundhog day again next summer looking or a striker that can actually score or assist consistently in this league.

I’m going to try and be fair with a balanced view;

I do think the positives are;

1. Has the Physicality for EPL
2. Has the Touch and football IQ
3. Good movement and Link up play
4. Still very young and can improve
5. Looks great in the air if we can finally service him

Negatives
1. Not convinced he’s Quick enough although stats last year in Bunderdliga show he has pace.
2. Definitely has Stamina issues, he’s barely curving 60 minutes of PL football
3. Misses too many chances currently, he should have 5/6 PL goals so far and 3/4 Assists not 2/1
4. He’s still a very young man but he needs to be more dominant with his team mates.
5. He looks one yard off the pace after 4 months of adaption, did have an injury so we need to give him a chance

I can see a player in there, but he’s a prospect and he’s the main man at the national team, we just need him to get a run in the team and score some goals.

He was worth £50m, not £70m and keeping Rasmus rather than Zirkzee would have been a far better way to split the load and get two young strikers emerging competing against each other.

He’s just poor
Football standards have dropped off a cliff if you disagree
He’s not a poor player, he has all the attributes to be fantastic, he just needs to adjust and at 22 he has time to learn.

Cunha is 4 years older and has far more PL experience and has 1 more Goal involvement in 1 PL match more, however Benjamin has played 772 minutes which is 1 GA every 257 minutes.

Cunha has 4 GI in 1121 minutes which is 1 GA in 280 minutes.

This is on the team and Amorim tactics, both these players should have at least another 3-4 goals and 1-2 Assists, Sesko does pass, Cunha is a little bit greedy.

And for the record Mbeumo is 6+1 7 G/I in 1400 minutes so he’s 1 goal
Involvement in every 200 minutes. He should be 1 GI every 100-120 mins ?

None of these stats are good for a £200m+ investment?

Only Bruno with 12 in 1477 minutes is acceptable especially considering how deep he’s playing!

He's so poor and often seemingly completely uninterested and detached that I struggle to work out how he's made it as a professional footballer.

Very fair summary and I agree on almost all points, except your first negative. In the last few games alone he made runs where he overtook multiple players seemingly without even sprinting full tilt. I think his pace is up there, he just needs to use it better.
If you mean "mental quickness", like sometimes being a millisecond slower and wasting a chance, passing opportunity or whatever, that I'd agree with. Think he needs to adapt to that part of the league still. Hopefully he'll be able to.

Agree on everything thing else, especially Zirkzee/Hojlund part, that was a mistake.

Agreed.

I'm baffled at the majority of posts in this thread. He may not have set the world alight but seems to be getting more flak than Zirkzee and Hojlund ever did when there is night and day difference between him and them.

Couldn't agree more. Still really excited about what he has to offer

He hasn't exactly set the league alight but you can definitely see glimpses of what he can offer.

His movement is excellent and we have a better shape with him playing up top.

He will come good. I like him. He has alot of potential. Arteta was after him for three windows. Ender up with the underwhelming gyokeres due to the new DoF at arsenal making the call.

And before he's even started 10 games for us they have solid opinions of him and would be upset if he scores and does well.

I'm convinced its just posters wanting to be on as many ignore lists as a possible self reporting themselves.

Agree with your first sentence, and unfortunately there is a lot of that on the cafe these days. It's making it a much less enjoyable place.

Had a chuckle at your second sentence!

We on about the same player here mate
Zirkzee!

Why do you think a goal shuts anything up? If you don't agree with criticism of him, one goal doesn't make any difference.
Not sure exactly how much but I imagine it would have a reasonable impact on the metrics being flung around.

More than that, the sight of a goal like that at a crucial time in the game would be enough to get a not insignificant portion of the fanbase to hope it’s a sign of better things to come.

So perhaps it wouldn’t shut it up completely, but it would help.

For a big lad he isn’t getting his headers away from the corners, which you’d think would be a fitting attribute for a towering 6ft5 striker.

Dorgu was a "poor player" until the Newcastle match.

Until we start playing to our strengths then it's not as easy as you think to label some players poor
Too much common sense in this post.

I totally agree and we should tweak few things to use his best strengths and once he scores few goals the confidence will grow and goals will flow naturally.

He's still a poor player. He had a great game vs Newcastle as did Ugarte, who is also a poor player.

I think he's technically too rough to play a regular role in our long term team, but as a utility player he has the physical skill set required and could be a good squad player.

Anyone think Rasmus could have a better season with us this year as so many chances being created now.

Let's give him the full game, please.

Lad needs a goal, and his minutes have been building up since returning from injury.

Tonight is the night!

90mins Wolves (Goal  )
60mins Newcastle
73mins Aston Villa
21mins Bournemouth

Man Utd 1:1 Wolves New
He had chances to score tonight, the fact he didn't is very disappointing

Should have scored even though the Casemiro outside of the foot ball was slightly behind. He should have done better than straight at the keeper

Unlucky to hit the post though and looked our most likely scorer

Yet again missed 2 sitters, absolute sitters. I saw rio going about his work rate and comparing to Louis Saha, Saha could finish! absolute awful comparison.

Not very good is he.

I had zero faith that he would come up with something in the absence of all our good attackers.

Unlucky from 4 yards out
