A lot of how our season goes will depend on Sesko. A 20-25 goal striker can mask a lot of weaknesses in squads. I have full faith that he will take another leap this year. I bet he gets 18ish goals in the league and gets to around the 25 mark overall.
 
Strange how this signing got so much criticism from pundits last summer. Have full faith in him. Looks a proper striker.

Great point, rated as the worst signing last summer.

We really need to stick him on penalty duties. It’ll boost him to 20 a season.
 
He’s top. Hopefully he stays fit all season
 
I just hope we can find him with more crosses from deep this year. He's such an aerial threat, but I don't think the team was really tuned in to that last year.
 
Is he really injured or will he be brought across for the next pre season game - off pre-season with the lack of an overseas base so they can change the composition of the travelling group

Mitton suggested it was still treatment for the shin injury but we should know soon if he doesn’t travel to the next game

Doesn't Sesko have a 100% career record on penalties? For me it makes a ton of sense to keep strikers in good nick and good morale by putting them on pens, even if perhaps it notionally 'costs' you a goal or two a season, it likely wins you as many or more through strikers being confident.
 
Not travelling to face Rosenborg. Hope this shin injury can be sorted out ASAP. Feck Konate and the stupid slope at Old Trafford.
 
Have high hopes for this guy. I think he’ll make the step up this season.
 
Sesko comes across as someone extremely dedicated to being the best he can be as a footballer. Seems to have a great attitude.
 
It's good to see that we're all on the page with Sesko. He came in with a bit of doubt in the minds of the fanbase, perhaps with good reason, but he looked fantastic to me under Carrick. The attitude and energy was top shelf, but his holdup play was at times excellent and some of the goals were ludicrous. I can easily see 25+ goals in his boots this season.
 
The extra weight will help, but I hope he’s worked on his first touch over the summer.

It can be great, but it’s wildly inconsistent and I think it affects his game. Sesko with a confident and consistent first touch would probably be the perfect striker.

I think it'll come with confidence from being a main player and starting weekly, scoring goals. He had a lot to do last season with no preseason, a big fee and then a slower start before he was in the goals while the manager was under pressure. As he gets confidence and relaxes he's capable of some very good touch and skill. I think we'll see more of it this season rather than mostly just finishes and some linkup play that didnt quite result in goals.
 
Last season the top scoring forwards in the league (not including penalties) were:

Haaland - 24 goals
Watkins - 16 goals
Pedro - 15 goals
Thiago - 14 goals

Sesko isn't getting near Haaland, but I don't see any reason he couldn't match or beat the rest if he plays a similar amount of minutes to them. "Second best CF in the league" isn't that high a bar, and would be more than good enough for our needs in the long term.

Hopefully so. I’d really like to see some partnerships forming this year, with forwards who genuinely complement each other.

Bruno will work with pretty much anybody, but It’d be nice to see some understandings start to form between the others. Sesko being a reliable link up man with a solid first touch is going to be key to that, with Santos and Tielemans looking to progress the ball forward quickly and probably directly.

I think he'd be there purely through playing more.

I'm pretty sure he's ahead of any of them apart from maybe Haaland when you break it down into minutes per goal.
 
One thing I really hope is that he becomes our primary target from corners now that Casemiro is no longer here.

This lad could bully people.

Hopefully he actually puts himself about a bit now he’s gained a bit of muscle. Most passive striker in the league.
