Replacement for Lingard and Andreas for starters. In the 4-2-3-1 play him in the ten. In the 4-3-3 play him alongside the other two MFs.

I still think we need a striker, a RW, a MF, and a LB. Maybe another MF if Pogba goes.

Not sure we'll see the best out of him in the remaining part of the season unfortunately considering Rashford being out.

Otherwise, a midfield of Scott and Pogba and Bruno in front of them as number 10 with Rashford and 2 other new attackers, RW and CF should be the way to go next summer.

However I think ultimately Pogba will be sold in summer and it'll be a Scott-Fred-Bruno midfield next season. Still need to sign at least 2 more attackers.

Bruno, Pogba, Fred won't work, except very specific situations. Either Pogba will leave in the summer, or Fred will be relegated to bench when Pogba is healthy.

Let's make sure he signs first. After watching that, we'd be better off tricking him into signing for us, just surprise him as he's having second thoughts.

Bruno: What?

Woody: Congratulations. *shakes hand*

Pogba is as good as gone.

Play 4-3-3 with Bruno as the highest of the 3. Have two more defensively minded players behind him.

For now;

Matic Fred
Bruno

Not really sure when everyone is fit though. I guess maybe Mctominay Pogba and Bruno? Or a diamond with Fred in as well and Martial and Rashford up top.

Pogba is as good as gone, so no need to include him.

Top 3 MF when fit as it stands would be Bruno, Fred & McTom

Jesse, Matic and Pereira will never be good enough so 2 more midfielders will be needed in the summer. Or if the slow rebuild continues a DM will be brought and a CF

----------------Martial-----------------
Rashford ---------- Greenwood
-----------------Bruno-------------------
----------Fred-------McTom---------

Would be good enough for Top 4, its just the squad depth is very thin so 1 injury and Top 4 is wishful thinking.

I'd personally go with this formation, both Rashford and Martial can be our wide forwards if needed, with Pogba or Bruno supporting in the central positions

-----AWB Lindelof Maguire .Shaw
-----------Matic or McT
----------Fred Pogba Bruno
----Rashford---------Martial

Against a low block:

---------------Fred--------------
------Bruno-----Pogba-----

Big game:

---------------Fred--------------
--McTominay---Pogba--

If Bruno is in better form Pogba can be dropped.

Really we need to bin 4-2-3-1 when everyone is fit and healthy.

Solskjaer looks like he wants to keep Pogba in a double pivot and he's very set on the 4-3-2-1 so it'll be something like:

Fernandes
Pogba - Fred

With Matic and McTominay rotating in and out of the pivot when appropriate, Matic's passing in that role could be very useful when we need to keep possession and Fred/McTominay could help us where more grit is needed.

Pogba seems to be leaving in the summer. Need Neves and Ndidi.

Ndidi/McTominay-----------------Neves/Fred--------------------

This will quickly become another ‘Pogba is off’ thread tbh.

I'd build around Fred's freekicks and shooting actually. We need to get him around the edge of the box where he's deadly. Play Bruno as an 8 and get Fred up there as a 10 to shoot on sight.

The absolute fecking weapon, I hope Mata gives him an atomic wedgey for taking that freekick.

Best fit on paper, I believe, is a diamond with fernandes playing higher up the pitch as in a false nine role, being he himself a goalscoring threat and given rashford and martial are our best strikers currently, pogba an fred/mtc on the sides and matic/new dm in a more defensive role

De Gea
AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Williams
Matic/DM
McT/Fred - Pogba
Fernandes
Martial - Rashford

strange to read that Fred hasn't won some fans over

he's been excellent and shone in good and bad performances the last couple of months

Fernandes is a hard working player and I'd like to see a 3 in the majority of games - drop the double pivot perhaps

Pogba - Fred - Fernandes

Bruno Pogba and Fred won’t work together. We would be destroyed defensively. Assuming Pogba stays we will need a proper defensive mid in the summer.

If we magically get everyone fit:

Rashford Martial
Bruno Fernandes
Pogba - McTominay
Fred
Williams Maguire Lindelof AWB
De Gea

Not quite a diamond how itd work though. Rashford same role as right now, Martial same role, Bruno Fernandes drifting wide right, Pogba bursting forward.

Other time will be:
Rashford Martial Greenwood
Pogba Fernandes
McTominay
Back 5

And then when Pogba is gone itll be McTominay as box to box, with Fred sitting behind. James rotating with Greenwood, both starting against games we expect to dominate, on bench for tougher games.

Until Pogba and Mctominay are back, an easy 4231 with Fred/Matic sitting and Bruno the 10. James/Greenwood both starting wide... or the lineup like today with Bruno for Lingard.

This, I agree with. Best fit for the resources we have. If Pogba leaves, get Grealish.

With Pogba:

Lindelof - Maguire - Tuanzebe
AWB - McTominay - Pogba - Williams
Fernandes
Greenwood ------ Rashford
(Or James --- Martial or any 2 from those 4)

Without Pogba (i.e. reality):

AWB - Tuanzebe - Maguire - Williams
McTominay - Fred
James - Fernandes - Rashford
Martial/Greenwood
(4231 or 433)

I know Fred's been our best midfielder (in Pogba AND McTominay's absence), but he's still not some sort of worldie we have to shoe-horn in to every team. Anyone looks good playing alongside Pereira.

Just about tired of Martial, he's painfully static, as many have noted.

Like to see us play a more aggressive 433 to take advantage of Pogba.

Actually I prefer 433, it will gives Pogba more freedom to roam from the left side of midfield (with Mctominay and Bruno to do the cover), whereas Bruno can do his stuff from the right side of midfield too (Mctominay and Pogba to do the cover). It will also push Greenwood up into scoring position more. We should focus more on attack.

Just play McTominay who was our best midfielder before his injury... McTominay next to Fred was fine. Or McTominay next to Pogba even.
