Saw this question posed on BBC Sports live reporting of West Ham v Arsenal, I guess based on the performance of Felipe Anderson.

So who you say is the best PL player outside of the current "big 6"? Felipe Anderson? Richarlison? Callum Paterson?

Ruben Neves for me, just because he's such a joy to watch.

Anyone but Rashford
Zaha. Carries his team.

Fraser, Neves, Gylfi, Doucoure, Felipe Anderson would be up there.

Doucoure at Watford always looks a player. Albeit I get Schneiderlin vibes a little.

Lanzini is the best player outside the top 6.

Yeah definitely De Gea. He's been out of sorts lately but he's still the world's best GK on form.

Been Zaha. Has to be the most influential player to influence a club outside the top 6. Only reason palace have stayed in the prem.

I just dont get the hype with Neves.
Not necessarily saying he's bad but he's certainly not amazing either.

I'd probably opt for Maddison,Vardy,Zaha or Richarlison.

Zaha, Vardy, Maddison, Anderson, Lanzini, Richarlison are the group of players that stand out to me.

As a defender, Nathan Ake. Would love it if Arsenal signed him.

Digne, Maddison, Richarlison, Felipe Anderson.

Ones that don’t quite make it but nearly: Ndidi, Tielemens, Zaha and Lanzini

After that there’s a few that are ok like Doucoure, Chilwell and Neves.

I really, really don't get the Felipe Anderson love in. Vardy is easily the best player outside the "recognised top 6".

If we're picking the traditional top 6 as the top 6, then I'm going for James Maddison. He has the quality on the ball of a top 4 player for sure.

Same here. He seemed exciting the first few games I saw. Beyond that he just seems fairly underwhelming

This has become the problem with modern fans. Some players are rated highly because they score 2/3 great goals and it is all over social media.

I don't think any of these fans who think Neves would sort our midfield issues out have watched him play? yes he has a brilliant shot on him but that on its own is not enough.
