Who are the best players to never win the Champions League in the 2010s era? Make an eleven based on their CL performances

    -------------------------Buffon----------------------
    Juanfran------Chiellini------Godin------Filipe Luis
    ---Saul-----Verratti-------Gabi-----------------Koke
    ---------------Lewandowski-----Ibrahimovic----------

God this was quite hard, I'm probably missing some obvious ones but there's mine.

Think the real Ronaldo never won it. George Weah didn't either

Edit, Sorry missed that you said in the 2010 era.

Patrick Vieira never even got past the quarter finals I think.Amazing player but Arsenal were average in Europe when he was there.

Edit, missed the 2010 rule as well  It's sad that Ibra never did it.

    Aguero > Ibra

"Make an eleven based on their CL performances" disqualifies Ibra who is crap in the CL against top teams.

Put Silva over Koke or Saul too. And Kante over Gabi.

Buffon has been crap for several years (5 at least). Oblak is the best GK in the world probably in the last couple of seasons and didn't win it.

Ha, a millennial. Maradona and the brazilian Ronaldo (the real one) should be on the list.

If we are only looking at 2010s performances:

    Oblak
Juanfran - Godin - Chiellini - Filipe Luis
    Vidal - Verratti - Silva
    De Bruyne
    Griezmann - Lewandowski

since the CL was re-branded in 1992:

    Buffon
    Thuram - Cannavaro - Adams - Zambrotta
    Nedved - Vieira - Ballack
    Totti
    Ronaldo - Ibrahimovic

2010s will have a lot of them considering basically the same Real Madrid team won 4 of them and Barca got 2.

For 4-4-2, I won't put Koke and Saul as wide.

Pales compared to that earlier team though (which I suppose is spread out over 20 years - but most had their peaks mid 90s to mid 00s anyway with a few outliers). Maybe just says something about spread of players in teams, vs the stacked teams we have today.
