Ended the season with two tin pot cups after 0-0 draws

Really puts into perspective the achievements in 1999 and even 2008. Both better seasons than “QuadrupLOL”.

Here you sit bragging about something that happened 23 years ago! Pathetic stuff man.. time to create some new memories yeah, not some from when you looked completely different from now. Ouf

Forget PL history, they aren't even the best team in PL present.

Among the greatest sides, without question, but still chasing the shadows of two of Ferguson's greatest sides.

You achieved about as much as our 16/17 side than our 98/99 side tbf. We both missed out on the main trophies but managed to win two less good ones. At least you have some new memories of nearly winning the quadruple though. Bless.

This is false. I would actually rate United of 2000 as a better side than 1999 (with worse luck in the CL). Or 2008 as better than 1999.

It's possible to use more than trophy count to rate sides, unless you're in the dregs of football conversation (bantz for lack of a better word)
The 99 team had a monstrous and mythical self belief in winning and pulling through even when the odds were stacked against them something which even the great man Fergie couldn't repeat in any of his sides ever again.

Not our best side in terms of players but that self belief puts them up there, in fact it puts them up there among the very best club sides of all time.

They seemed to peak around the time they bounced Bayern out the CL that year they won. You could say then they were a top team. They haven't held onto it for long despite a lot of puff from the players and media.
They got 92 points in the league, more than we've ever got in the time the league has been 38 games.
Won 2 cups, granted on pens and the two shittest, but still.
Tonight was fecking hilarious, but let's not kid ourselves.

They lost. Also failed to match what they got when they lost in 2019.

Anyone that still claims that they are the best team in Europe or PL history needs to urgently go see a doctor.

You? I am not a Liverpool-fan, I’m just embarrassed by United-fans bringing up ancient feats to fight where they aren’t invited. Nobody cares about United today, they certainly don’t care about ten years ago, they especially don’t care about 23 years ago. Again, let’s forget old memories, let’s create new ones, and please, don’t argue with Liverpool/City-folks, we’re not in the same league anymore.

Those are the fine lines of football.. Could have been a quadruple and probably hailed as the greatest team ever. Instead, they ended up with the two lesser trophies and in 10, 20 years time this will be a season no one ever talks about and this side might not come up in the debates of best Premier League teams.

The United side has the treble, Arsenal were invincible, Man City got the 100 points... Even Chelsea have the 15 goals conceded in that ridiculous season under Jose. Unfortunately, the only potential defining factor for this Liverpool side is "we played every game".

Celebrating another teams loss is fecking pathetic.
We can't even sniff the trophy - we fecking suck. People here celebrating another teams low point, when their low point is better than our team all season? We didn't do shit to stop them. We watched from the side while they played in a game our whole fan base and squad wishes we partook in.

it's actually sad to see.

Anyway, they're not the best PL team of all time. But they are up there with city and a few other squads over the decades.

If they’re the best team ever then what are City or Madrid? The lengths they go to set their own narrative is unreal
The entire team people talked up the quadruple and them being the best PL side ever, City were ahead in the league.

They were very close but in the end have nothing to show for it, the achievements are going to be only anecdotal. If they're truly a great team they will win the league next season and be on another final. Winning is the only important thing for a real top club and you need to do it consistently and keep trying every time, so better luck for them next season.

The objective of literally any sport in the world is to win trophies. Nothing else matters more than that.

Liverpool didn't win a single match against a top side this season in normal time. Drew twice against City. Drew 4 times against Chelsea. Drew twice to Spurs. Lost to Real. #facts

Best team in the history of the PL you're havng a laugh. The media has been up their arse all season long - puzzling

The only embarrassing thing is the current team who don't have it in them to "create new ones". The fans have every right to be proud of the club's past accomplishments.

The Arsenal 93 team won the FA and League cup double. Was it Geroge Graham?
Can’t stop laughing at these jokers.
That Arsenal was better. They scored a total of 5 goals in their domestic finals... This Pool side scored 0.

 I thought they'd at least win one of the big 2. All the talk of the quadruple and they just have the FA cup and tin pot league cup or whatever it's now called to show for it. Lovely.

Of course they aren't in the absolute elite PL teams. They've won it once ffs.

So? It doesn't count how many points you win by as long as you win. How many times did we win the league in April not needing to push all the way?

Well, achieving greatness is worth bragging about. You think RM fans achieved 14 CL wins to not cherish it / remember fondly/ brag about it. What a depressing outlook to want our fans to only 'live in the moment' and not think about the club's great achievements. Some of you barely sound like United fans tbh. The club's historic achievements don't need to be binned.

Plus lighten the feck up this is the time to take the piss
