Can Bezos really make a fortune from Liverpool? Football isn’t that lucrative for one of the richest people on the planet. It’s more about visibility and winning imo.

Split the TV deal, and reconsider. That’s the next boon and it’ll enrich the top clubs by an astronomical amount. That’s what the Glazers are likely holding out for.

Bezos has the means to take it to optimisation.

Amazon isn't a software company, and the core part of Amazon is not Amazon Prime and the e-commerce website, Amazon's core business and real money-maker is Amazon Web Services, AWS is one of the big reasons why Bezos cosies up to Trump, US Government contracts are worth 10's of $ Billions, but piss Trump off you won't get them

Actually, it's main income is AWS plus ad income from its shop. Fro the latter, it's actually a lot like Facebook - as in, you think their primary business is retail (or being a network site), but that's just a way to get the ad income that actually generates profit. Cause the sales part of the Amazon shop doesn't make much money at all (comparatively, anyway).

Also, Amazon's business model is deeply reprehensible, in the way they steal designs, squeeze out third-party sellers, and make the competition go out of business. I haven't bought there in a long time and won't if I can in any way avoid it.

Will be great to poke fun at Liverpool's expense when United win the league even after Liverpool spend gazillions.

Who am I kidding, City and Liverpool will have the title fights for the ages every season with United being the new Aston Villa. Mid table giant.

Still better than letting Bezos, Musk etc coming in to the club. The title wins Liverpool will have, won't mean anything outside of Liverpool.

When FSG bought Liverpool for £300m in 2010 the club were, according to CEO Billy Hogan, "literally on the brink of bankruptcy".

On top of the purchase price, FSG have since facilitated intra-group loans of about £218m, meaning a total outlay of about £518m.

Sixteen years later, the proposed sale of 30% would mean FSG received about £1.4bn, with the club valued at £4.5bn - 13 times what it was worth in 2010 when FSG bought it from Hicks and Gillett.

"It's a great deal for FSG," football finance expert Kieran Maguire told BBC Sport.

"They generate more than £1bn from the deal and still keep control - this represents the best of both worlds."


Hogan has suggested there is no prospect of FSG entertaining a full sale of the club, but Maguire believes if the initial investment goes well, that could change.
"If Bezos et al like the kudos and attention that part-owning as big a brand as Liverpool brings," Maguire said.
"Then a full acquisition becomes a possibility, if the price is right."

It's Bezos. Hopefully he'll asset-strip them and suck every penny of profit out of the club. I don't see him being a benevolent owner like some of the Middle Eastern billionaires have been in recent years.

They are in a unique position that they can effectively take any player they want when the time comes.

Because we were over valued. The debt is on the club so adds to the overall purchase price, you would have someone spending close to 7b before even thinking about the stadium. Just not worth it when you can get Liverpool or Chelsea for 4b

Based on my experience with Amazon, new players may well be delivered someplace else - maybe Manchester. We should remember to check our green bins

I'm not concerned about it, why would I be?

Bezos isn't going to be involved in or making decisions, he's part of a consortium that's buying 30% of the club, at the end of the day Liverpool still have to abide by the same rules as United, Newcastle, Arsenal and so on

There are a few fans who just want to be plucky underdogs. They would be happy all our rivals spending fortunes, us barely spending anything but winning the odd cup.
