Just saw this, I read that his lawyer had to intervene because he was about to fess up to more than question he was asked.

That same report says the women consented to taking the drugs. It's not the slam dunk the media is portraying it to be.
I dont support the witch hunt but he is going to avoid jail time so i guess he deserves it.

But yeah, let's definitely give him the benefit of the doubt.Purely academic exercise here, but I'd be terrified if I (as a male) was in Bill Cosby's shoes, I was innocent, and 40 people accused me of rape. That wouldn't be enough for a criminal case, but your entire life would be ruined otherwise. That's the only thing that's holding me back from being able to say with full confidence that he is a rapist.
And that's me speaking as someone who doesn't care much for Bill Cosby as a comedian, TV guy or faux activist.

He's admitted to drugging women, hasn't he? I dunno, when 35 women come out and accuse someone of rape, and they're admitting to things like that, I just find it very hard to grant them the benefit of the doubt -- although, of course he deserves it from a legal point of view.

Low. Very low. But odds and math don't work like that. That's like creationists using the low odds of evolution to our current state to discredit evolution.
I don't have a problem with someone saying they think he did it. I almost think he did it. But anything other than saying "I believe he did it" is branded as rape culture.

Replace Quaaludes (a popular recreational drug back then, cf Wolf of Wall Street) with alcohol, and it doesn't sound so bad then. If the girls were incapable of consenting, it's rape. But all we have is their word that they were.
If he had said yes... every doubt would be erased from my mind. But either because he would have self incriminated himself, or just because lawyers do that kind of stuff, he didn't answer the critical question.
Now people are free to come to their own conclusions of course.

It's about judgement. As you say, you have to come to your own conclusion -- mine is that Cosby is a very seedy person, even if the 35 women accusing him are all lying.
But that's the thing. Quaaludes aren't a date rape drug. Robhypnol is.
It's not a black or white thing. Saying Cosby didn't rape the women isn't equivalent to saying they're lying. It's just that sexual relations in private are nearly impossible to gauge, especially as time goes by.

Agreed. He basically made a career out of using his positive public persona to lure women in, then drug and rape them. How anyone can keep running interference for him after this is beyond me.

It's not unheard of for people to invent, or increase allegations when they smell the money.
I mean, take Jimmy Sav for goodness sake, he was obviously a major predator, but I doubt he touched seemingly everyone in England, which by the amount of stories coming out seems to be the way!
