How has he pulled this off? Who wouldn't recognise Borat?

People who believe that Donald Trump is a guardian angel sent by Jesus to smite the devil-worshipping liberals and their paedophile ring who really control the government, probably?

Incredible if he has managed to use the Borat character in the U.S. again  can't wait to see this!

Rewatched the first one not too long ago - still absolutely hilarious!

Reports that Sacha Baron Cohen has filmed and test-screened a sequel to his 2006 comedy hit, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, have gathered pace with the news that a title for the film was submitted to the Writers Guild America.

Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan was submitted to the Writers Guild America in recent days, but the page has since been taken down.

Film website Collider first broke the news that Borat 2, filmed during the coronavirus pandemic “has already been shot and even screened for a select few industry types”. The site adds that the fame of the first mockumentary means Borat can no longer interview unsuspecting Americans as himself, so is forced to go incognito, with varying degrees of success.

Doesn’t get me that hyped just from the trailer, hopefully that’s not a sign of things to come.

His Kazakhstan twitter feed about Trump was not very funny. That may be because Trump can no longer be satirised but I fear Borat’s time has passed, a bit like when his fellow 11 o’clock Show alumnus Ricky Gervais brought back Brent a few years ago.

I think it'll be fun, if you don't expect too much and don't go in to it ready to criticise.

“We’ve learned from sources that Trump and Epstein’s relationship, as well as the coronavirus, all figure into the main narrative with cameos from Mike Pence, Rudy Giuliani, and more best left unspoiled. We’ve also learned that one of the yet-to-be-revealed cameos could potentially derail a political career, and we imagine some backlash and lawsuits will follow.”
This is going to be more of a "Who Is America?" ft. Borat style exposé, than something like the first one. That's fine with me.

I didn't think the trailer was that bad to be honest. In the first film the best moments wouldn't really translate into good "trailer" moments or soundbites. It was the really daft and small moments such as him indicating left in the car but turning right that made me laugh in the first one.

Not overly optimistic about this. SBC’s early stuff i.e. Ali G and Borat was absolutely fantastic, but Bruno was very hit and miss (albeit still with some hilarious moments) and he just seems to have nosedived in quality since then.

Who is America looked like a real return to form in the first two episodes then kinda turned to shit for the most part. Turns out Nathan Fielder was only involved in the producing of those first two eps so I suspect he was behind the great segments in those.

Then there are his standalone films - The Dictator and Grimsby, with the former being decent-ish but the latter pretty bad.

And on the rare occasions he’s brought back Ali G and Borat they haven’t been anywhere near as good as they were. Sacha’s Ali G speech when he was alongside Olivia Wilde at the Oscars was truly dreadful (“Idris Elbow”, ugh).
