It seems like they're retaining the most important person at the club in Iraola. Sold Huijsen to Real for 50m. Now Erik is wanting his compatriot Kluivert at Leverkusen, while Liverpool are buying Kerkez, PSG are interested in Zabarnyi, and United among others are sniffing around Semenyo.

The other very important person at the club, I believe, is Tiago Pinto whom they made Director of Football Operations May last year (a month later they sign Huijsen originally for 12.8m and sell him for 50m, though Juve surely pocketed some of that I assume).

I'm interested to see their recruitment over the summer and that of the other mid table clubs that punch above their weight (Brighton and Brentford), though I find Bournemouth the most interesting being by far the smallest. They also just opened a new training ground (to the cost of 32m).

I think Bournemouth will be OK next season. I don't suspect they will loose all their key players. Huijsen is gone of course, but I suspect they will come to agreements with some of the others to stay for one more season so they can break up the departures. For instance, it may be better for the Dippers to get Kerkez next season as well after what they have laid out already.

Either way, Bournemouth are well run, have a good manager and have a bit of money to play with from sales. I suspect they will get decent bang for buck again, even if the players aren't top quality/as good as the out going ones.

Brentford for me are the ones in more danger of having a relegation fight on their hands. Frank was their lynchpin and they have fewer players overall that are as coveted/a weaker squad to begin with. Unlike last season, I think Burnley and Leeds will put up a good fight. Sunderland I expect to be bottom.

LFC won't wait a season for Kerkez given Robertson is going and Tsimikas ain't good enough.

I think Semenyo is the likeliest to stay as he won't get as big a team chasing him. LFC, PSG and Madrid chasing a mid-table teams players is difficult to stop.

Kerkez will go. They've already signed his replacement. The other CB looks likely to leave for PSG too. That will be 3 of the starting defence leaving in one window.

They'll go through quite a turnover I think. No assurances they'll get a deal with Chelsea/Kepa, Senesi and Araujo might be the only ones of the back five still in the side next season. If Kluivert and Semenyo go, then it's pretty much a different side. But as I say, I'm interested to see the recruits Pinto goes for.

And now Spurs have enquired about Ilya Zabarnyi. I think PSG were told 55m and they've been after him for a while.

Given how successful Bournemouth's recruitment has been, I assume that keeper they paid Chelsea 25m for is going to be outstanding.

I think they will hold on to Zabarnyi for one more season after selling Huijsen. Luring interest in Semenyo seems to have dropped a bit, so I expect he will stay given the price tag as well.. They signed the Kepa and Kerkez replacements early on already, both young players for decent fees with a lot of games on their name already in good leagues. If Zabarnyi Semenyo Evanilson Cook and Kluivert stay, they have lots of reliable players around that like Senesi, Adams, Christie, Cook, Tavernier to have another season where they will stay far away from relegation and will fight for European places until the end of the season..

Apparently Spurs were sniffing around Branthwaite before we signed him onto a new deal. I guess they feel Romero is likely to leave at some point / they need a reliable CB because the two they have pick up injuries too frequently.

They have Kroupi, can't wait to see him play!, , he will definitely catch eyes.

Yeah, makes sense. Can't imagine he'll choose them over PSG though, they have one problem position in their whole team that they are trying to sign him for.

Yeah, they'll be fun to watch. And quite absorbing to gauge their recruitment over the summer.

All their attacks and midfielders remain so I don't fear for them as much as Brentford if they lose Wissa on top of Mbuemo, Norgaard + Frank this window.

Have goals in them and are decent on the counter away so will be comfortable mid table without perhaps having some of the eye catching wins they did last season.

Sold Zabarni to PSG. So that’s 3/4 of their defence from last season sold and a new goalkeeper. Let’s see if they can carry on the good recruitment.

Wouldnt be surprised if they go for Rav vd Berg from Middlesbrough as replacement.. Looks very solid for Dutch -21s, has already a lot of Championship apps going on and should be available for around 12 million euros.. (Feyenoord agreed on a sum with Middlesbrough for about 10 million euro's, but there will be an English club tax if Bournemouth enter the stage)

I’d say they’re going to struggle, but promoted teams will occupy the bottom 3 so they’ll be safe.

57m for Zabarnyi. This has been going on for a while and it seems they've got the money they wanted. And sold those three players to three of the best teams in Europe.

I think they've upgraded their goalie but selling their left back and the two starting CBs is some risky stuff.

Yeah, how good is he? Did he play a minute for you lot? Didn't you sign some Belgian superstar in waiting as well?

Anyhow, they just sold Ouattara to Brentford for 42m. To add to the 57m for Zabarnyi, the 50m for Huijsen, and the 40m for Kerkez. That's 189m.

They've bought Bafodé Diakité for 34.6m, Petrovic for 25m, Truffert for 14.4m. 74m in total. Rumoured to be close to signing Doak for 25m and linked with Amine Adli (also linked to West Ham).

If they stay close to last season's level it will be magic. And I sort of expect it.

He played 31 games for us in 23/24 and started well but ended a bit meh.

He went on loan last season in France and although I didn't see any of his games, he won his club's player of the season award so must've been pretty decent.

He's only 25 and has played in Serbia, America, the Prem and the French League. I'd say he's an upgrade on Kepa for sure.

I suspected he was an upgrade on Kepa, just wasn't sure he was worth 25m. Didn't know he'd played that much for you lot. While I have you on the line, how good is Mike Penders?

He's very, very highly rated at the club if reports are to be believed. I've never seen him play though!

And you've placed him at your other club I see. From what I read last year, he was thought of as having Čech/Courtois potential.

Pretty even at the moment between them and Newcastle, but after 10 minutes they had 82% possession.

Great little team punching well above their weight. Wish the had a bigger stadium though so I could go and watch a few games!

Sacking O’Neil was a huge risk for them, but one that has seemingly handsomely paid off for them. Iraola had done a fantastic job - even better when you consider all the players they keep losing. Would be interested to see how he manages the step up to a larger club. His teams play an entertaining high energy and high press, very direct transition style, don’t they? Something Ten Hag wanted to implement with us.

They're 4th on xPts as well as real ones. Not a fluke. Can he keep it up over the season though?

There will surely be a drop off but I'd say top 8 is a reasonable target.

Their biggest issue they have is the potential loss of Ireola. It will only take one of the big boys to sack their manager and he's obviously going to be in the running for a position.

Think they will be the club to benefit most from everyone else playing in Europe while they get a rest. Top 6 I reckon which would be incredible.

It’s funny because he’s a manager with a similar level of experience, if not less, as Amorim, and with less achievements before moving to the PL, but is doing much better.

I think it’s proof that the pressure here is immense, but also that we shouldn’t jump the gun. Amorim needs to do so much better and he’s clearly out of his depth, but I’m not sure replacing him with Iraola would be the best move as there’s no guarantee it wouldn’t be the same. I’m sure Amorim would be doing well at Bournemouth right now.

There’s hardly any evidence for you to be sure that Amorim would be doing well at Bournemouth.

Especially when you consider the talent they’ve lost and their modest spending power/investment compared to ours.

Freakishly high in the table after 9 games, in 2nd place.

Why isn't this thread booming? Iraola's last season there?

They are outperforming their XG differential substantially so I expect them to eventually settle back to midtable. But that still represents an incredible job from Iraola given how many big players they had to sell this past summer.

They have some amazing recruitment. Don't think they will continue at this pace but maybe a UEFA spot is on the cards. Excellent manager.

Matter of time before a top club snaps up Iraola, outstanding coach. I just hope it's not Liverpool.

When we let go of ETH, I wanted Iraola in. He’s a terrific manager. I’m happy enough with Ruben but Iraola imo is the best manager in the league not named Pep.

I can see and hope it's barca that snaps him up and not as you said Liverpool if slot has a bad season

Lost too much in defence over the summer and now it is being reflected in the results.

There are 5 points between them in 14th and Chelsea in 3rd. Obviously teams within that group have a game in hand over them but the league is incredibly tight and competitive in that mid pack. He's doing well to be competing in it and not being in danger of relegation.
