What do the forum members think of the 2000 hours kick off on Boxing Day.

Nothing new, would have preferred it earlier but TV dictates it all now sadly.

Think we are the only game in the league that is going to be getting played on Boxing Day.

It’s a pity Amazon don’t have the rights as none of the 3pm games on the Saturday after look they are gonna be available to watch.

There's games were both teams involved are London teams which you think would be more suited especially if they have to have an evening KO but no that would involve actual thinking.

The best Boxing Day home game was when we beat Wigan 5-0 (I think).

I worked it and got paid double time for the privilege.
Valencia was sensational at that time. Remember him scoring an incredibly powerful goal that game.

I’ll be in Thailand and it’ll be 3am. That’s what I think.

Shafted this year as I’ll be there for 30 odd days as usual, and I’ll miss like 5 out of 7 games live.

Only saving grace is can catch PL replays in all bars for 2 days after, on a loop, so can watch them over breakfast beers.

I thought this thread was going to be about the Boxing Day fixtures from the year 2000

We beat Villa 0-1 thankfully.

26 December 2000
West Ham 5v0 Charlton
Newcastle 2v1Leeds
Middlesbrough1v0 Liverpool
Man City 0v0 Derby
Ipswich 2v2 Chelsea
Everton 1v2 Coventry
Bradford 1v4 Sunderland
Aston Villa 0v1 Man Utd
Arsenal 6v1 Leicester

Very selfishly happy about it as I probably wouldn’t make it to the match otherwise

It will be my first game at OT. Can’t wait for the game.

What’s the reason for not having a usual set of games throughout the day as we’d always had?

Surprised it took someone so long to post something along these lines :D

Was it 2001 when we lost to Middlesbrough? feck I hated that result.

Shit for the players. People will say they're use to it, but it's still shit. First time in years they can relax a little more on Christmas day with your family, and you're one of the two teams that draw short straw and have to play still.

Is this US military speak? I accept eight o'clock or 20:00.

Because Boxing Day falls on a Friday this year so TV decided to make it more like a standard weekend with 1 Friday match and a full Saturday

I think its feckin' daft - and gives zero consideration to fans. Usual Premier League MO.

We're on a run of particularly crap kick off times and days at the moment.
The sort of stuff that makes me relieved I don't have to deal with a couple of season tickets any more.
