Deserves its own thread really. Quite amazing I have to say. You could say it may affect the integrity of the competition, but it is also very sensible and proactive with regards to player welfare. Never heard of anything similar.

This comes after recent adductor issues despite his return to action and goal-scoring contribution against Liverpool.

No chance this is true.

We still need to not lose the next game to guarantee 3rd. Got to be a bit missing or translation issue no chance we agree to this. After Sunderland maybe but not now.

Ridiculous, we haven't even played 40 games yet this season. Surely bollocks?

I think that this is quite possible actually specially with the recent injury that he has had.

I look forward to Portugal asking then same for Bruno and Bruno's response to that

Not sure if it’s true, but if he is carrying a knock then it makes sense with it being a World Cup year. Last thing we want is him getting a serious injury during the World Cup.

Arteta has not done a great job with Saka and Odegaard in terms of looking after them, and you could probably say that about us with Martial and Rashford.

Makes sense, he's been dealing with a hip flexor issue and those notoriously are tricky if you overdo it. 3rd place is pretty much set (not officially but basically, combined with it not actually mattering if we finish 5th or 3rd), so the top priority should be things like what is best for the players & then achieving things like Bruno's record.

If Bruno wasn't chasing the assist record, I bet he would suddenly get rotated...

Interesting. Apparently the FFF asked Liverpool to use Konaté as much as possible.

Considering his issues it makes perfect sense for both parties given that CL is guaranteed. Don't get the outrage. If true of course.

Even if this is true, surely Utd can't be happy this has been leaked to ESPN by the Brazilian federation. Other federations could ask the same and also gives our opponents a heads up that Cunha won't be playing. Really weird!

But its not confirmed. Still 5mil + difference between 3rd and 5th. Matters a little. Also the CL still has seeding pots I don't know how it works but Im sure finishing 3rd is better then 4th or 5th.

Not even mad, he rushed back from a knock to help push us over the line yesterday for UCL qualification.

He's earned being ablr to rest up a bit and heal before the summer

What a load of bollocks. These players are paid millions for the fans to watch them play for Man Utd, not to get rested for the benefit of various international teams. Besides we are still fighting to secure 3rd spot which may bring us more financial benefit

It's over 3 weeks between our last game of the season and Brazils first WC game, surely that is more than enough rest.

They can pay his wages for that period and compensate us if we drop lower than third place.

Ive heard of national teams agreeing to lower minutes to favour clubs, but not this way around, im calling bollocks

A lot of other stars have essentially done this in recent weeks without it being reported as such but better believe the likes of Yamal and Guler have the same sort of agreement between their NT and clubs

I'm assuming they requested the same for Casemiro then? I call bollocks on this, makes no sense, its not like we've played a shed load of games this year anyway. If he's carrying a knock then he'd most likely be rested anyway by the club, not by on Brazil's request.

Don't get the outrage over this. It's not ideal but I'm sure we'll be able to cope with Dorgu being back. Also, discussions would have been had with the player himself. So if Cunha sees this as the best possible outcome for himself, then I'm sure he'd give the okay to both United and the CBF.

But we don't have to? We're paying his salary and still have third to play for

Surprised at the reaction to this. Why wouldn’t it be true and what exactly is the big deal? They probably asked because he was carrying an issue, we could have said no, but we agreed since its in our best interest too for him to not get a bigger injury. I’m failing to see the problem here.
