If it involves money, I don’t see how this isn’t true. Jim would snap your arm for a packet of chocolate digestives.

If true the next time international break comes they need to let us play Cunha whenever we need him.

Surprised at the reaction to this. Why wouldn’t it be true and what exactly is the big deal? They probably asked because he was carrying an issue, we could have said no, but we agreed since its in our best interest too for him to not get a bigger injury. I’m failing to see the problem here.

Among the many issues

If hes injured we dont need to play him and it has nothing to do with Brazil. It would just make sense not to cause further harm longer term going into next season. We dont need any agreement with Brazil for that and Dorgu is back from injury to replace him in the team.

If hes not that injured he's had our 7th most mins this season. There are plenty of players who will be more tired

Casemiro has our 5th most mins and hes 34 and still in the Brazil team. It would make more sense for him to need rest

Is it a complete rest or are we just limiting his minutes? Eg he only plays 30 mins as a sub etc

Makes sense, he's been dealing with a hip flexor issue and those notoriously are tricky if you overdo it. 3rd place is pretty much set (not officially but basically, combined with it not actually mattering if we finish 5th or 3rd), so the top priority should be things like what is best for the players & then achieving things like Bruno's record.

If Bruno wasn't chasing the assist record, I bet he would suddenly get rotated...
No it doesn't. He is our employee not theirs

Best believe Bruno will revolt if true (and Cunha is not carrying an injury)

If he is carrying an injury what’s the big deal? We are solid where we are going to be. Cunha himself will probably hugely appreciate this. There is no real bad outcome here

Cunhas Instagram post of "what? " Suggests this is unsurprisingly bollocks.

I'm glad this has turned out to be nonsense. One of my favourite players to watch at the moment.

It'll be denied by everyone either way, but if he's carrying an injury or knock from game to game it makes sense from all parties and the player welfare perspective. Why would the club or Cunha himself want him carrying that injury into the world cup and potentially coming back with it even worse or requiring a long lay off?

There is no integrity of the competition argument after Villa's performance Vs Spurs where they effectively threw the game and probably cost another team it's place in the league in the process.

Carlo making sure he’s got a fresh Cunha next season.

Didn't West Ham effectively cheat to stay up by signing Mascherano and Tevez?
