First job for new owner is to kick Murtogh and Fletcher out on their arses. Neither are qualified to do the job at an elite club such as United. They can go ply their trade an Yeovil Town FC.
just playing devils advocate but I think the brand is looking quite fecked for the first time since they took over, thus making it much harder to do commercial deals.. we're entering peak banter club territory at this point, and also our fans have started boycotting sponsors tooSo why didn't they sell to the Arabs before they bought Newcastle.
I don't think the club has ever been in such a perilous position (Munich aside). I cannot remember a big club having such a big crisis as this. Maybe AC Milan?just playing devils advocate but I think the brand is looking quite fecked for the first time since they took over, thus making it much harder to do commercial deals.. we're entering peak banter club territory at this point, and also our fans have started boycotting sponsors too
that and realising the operational profit of the company is no longer enough to keep the club in the Champions League more often than not
I see people saying this but it doesn't make any sense, surely it adds to the momentum as it gives the feeling that the protests are working?Suspicious timing. This could be nothing more than an attempt to take the sting out of the planned protests and unrest around the club.
probably just the tip of the iceberg.Epstein links, just what we needed, fecking great.
It may well be, but how would that work exactly? All I see from The 1958 on Twitter - as well as others - is a galvanization. They see this as a chink in the armour, an encouragement toward a final push. That's also exactly how I feel: the finishing line is right there, and we've just got to power through.Suspicious timing. This could be nothing more than an attempt to take the sting out of the planned protests and unrest around the club.
Think they wanted to until the shit hit the fan with them killing that journalist and the blowback they got.So why didn't they sell to the Arabs before they bought Newcastle.
I thought Joel and Avram pretty much bought all the shares from their family a few years ago, as their siblings weren't interested in the club then either. Could be wrong, but if not then they only own a small share. So if 90% stake was split between six brood how many of them are selling and what percentage will that be they lose control of.
Also if they are selling to a private investor does that mean that investor gets right of first refusal on the remaining shares if/when they are sold down the line?
Arnold too. Basically everyone who has engineered our downfall. Build the club up as a football club first and business second.First job for new owner is to kick Murtogh and Fletcher out on their arses. Yeah the priority has to be a best-in-class senior leadership team. It's about time we had football experts running the clubFirst job for new owner is to kick Murtogh and Fletcher out on their arses. Yeah but is this not just a way of basically alerting potential investors to make a bid...without saying outright 'we want to sell?'I can't really get to excited about this. A minority share doesn't actually change anything. The Glazers are still in control, as are the people they have placed at the top. Sure we get some money, but odds are they manage to take a large chunk of it out of the club anyway, and none of the actual rot is removed.
Match day fans can't do the mathMatch going fans should fill the stadium in proportion to the Glazers' stake. If they sell a minority stake, then we'll fill in minority part of the stadium. They sell 0.5%, we fill 0.5% of stadium seats.
My mate who is a fellow Red but also follows Yeovil as his local side suggests they wouldn't be welcomed...and if you know of the sorry state of affairs at Huish Park, you'd know that is saying something! They can go ply their trade an Yeovil Town FC.
hmmm and look what's happened there!Piece by piece hopefully it will dissolve like Soviet Union.
But can't this be Apollo investing?Yep, exactly what I expected based on the stock movements in the last couple of days. If you ever want to know when something is going to happen, watch the stock. People don't usually put millions down on the off chance something happens.
With massive bootsFirst job for new owner is to kick Murtogh and Fletcher out on their arses. Neither are qualified to do the job at an elite club such as United. They can go ply their trade an Yeovil Town FC.
Ah, the old shake you by the hand whilst kicking you in the bollocks ploy, I think fans are wise to it this time.I've a bad feeling this is going to go ahead but they'll attempt to do it in the background whilst the transfers go through.
WHo is 'they'. All the Glazers do is short term fixes to appease the fans, while underneath the club continues to rot away. There is divsion between the 6 Glazers, some want out. Makes a full sale a problem. Now is the time to ramp up protests, not be appeased for them overpaying in desperation for a couple of players.Tweet

Of course, transfers a massive smokescreen while they line their pockets again. They take us for fools. Question is, are we?I've a bad feeling this is going to go ahead but they'll attempt to do it in the background whilst the transfers go through.

I am glad that redcafe posters are finally seeing reason. There was a time when I was the only one saying that.Yeah the priority has to be a best-in-class senior leadership team. It's about time we had football experts running the club
Which is why the protests need to ramp up. The pressure is on, they are vulnerable, some of the Glazers want out. They probably want to negotiate from a position of strength. That won't happen with riots at OT
What, the Glazers are trying to appease the fans?Tweet

Yeah. I believe it's too late now for the Glazers. The fans have been mobilised. They now know someone is willing to buy us. It's no longer just hope that someone will come for us, there is an actual person there who is willing to buy the club.Which is why the protests need to ramp up. Lets hope so. We can win.Yeah. I believe it's too late now for the Glazers. The fans have been mobilised. They now know someone is willing to buy us. It's no longer just hope that someone will come for us, there is an actual person there who is willing to buy the club.
Monday will be crazy.
I'm not sure exactly what the post is getting at so I stand to be corrected but I don't think it's implying the Glazers are trying to appease the fans. Like you say, they have proven they don't care about that! What, the Glazers are trying to appease the fans?
Glazers don't care. As most are saying, the Glazers will give the green light to spend, now knowing they will be selling up, and the new owners will be servicing the debt and money owed in transfer fees.
Yeah, I'm with you on that, the post is very unclear.I'm not sure exactly what the post is getting at so I stand to be corrected but I don't think it's implying the Glazers are trying to appease the fans. Like you say, they have proven they don't care about that!
I think the post is implying they no longer care about counting the pennies and only care about making the club more attractive to a prospective buyer. Again...I stand to be corrected if that's not the point.
Just got done reading a great book about how Apollo bankrupted Caesars Palace in Vegas. Super shady bastards.Apollo can feck off, disgusting firm still with links to Leon Black.
