I don't think the club has ever been in such a perilous position (Munich aside). I cannot remember a big club having such a big crisis as this. Maybe AC Milan?
Suspicious timing. This could be nothing more than an attempt to take the sting out of the planned protests and unrest around the club.

It may well be, but how would that work exactly? All I see from The 1958 on Twitter - as well as others - is a galvanization. They see this as a chink in the armour, an encouragement toward a final push. That's also exactly how I feel: the finishing line is right there, and we've just got to power through.
I can't really get to excited about this. A minority share doesn't actually change anything. The Glazers are still in control, as are the people they have placed at the top. Sure we get some money, but odds are they manage to take a large chunk of it out of the club anyway, and none of the actual rot is removed.
This is how Malcolm Glazer started, right? He started off with acquiring less than 3% of shares in 2003, according to wiki. It apparently took him 2 more years to complete the takeover. Hope this takes less time.
So if 90% stake was split between six brood how many of them are selling and what percentage will that be they lose control of.

I thought Joel and Avram pretty much bought all the shares from their family a few years ago, as their siblings weren't interested in the club then either. Could be wrong, but if not then they only own a small share.

Match going fans should fill the stadium in proportion to the Glazers' stake. If they sell a minority stake, then we'll fill in minority part of the stadium. They sell 0.5%, we fill 0.5% of stadium seats. 
Yeah but is this not just a way of basically alerting potential investors to make a bid...without saying outright 'we want to sell?'
It's a bit of a game of 'cat and mouse' isn't it. If the Glazers said they wanted to sell, their negotiating power goes down.
Likewise, Jim Ratcliffe has always distanced himself from buying the club...until he smelt weakness and opportunity.

My mate who is a fellow Red but also follows Yeovil as his local side suggests they wouldn't be welcomed...and if you know of the sorry state of affairs at Huish Park, you'd know that is saying something!
The Express are saying Glazers want to sell all the club, not just minority stake. Maybe they have got wind of Racliffes offer, or Ineos have now contacted them.
Big deals like this type of transaction would normally be pushed along secretly until the point of exclusivity - can see Glazers only dealing with investment funds/private equity as these businesses are used to acquiring and disposing of organisations quietly and its all done on pure economic factors and not emotion - id really doubt that they would want to get involved with JR as the fan galvanisation would become too intense for them and put them in a weaker selling position.

WHo is 'they'. All the Glazers do is short term fixes to appease the fans, while underneath the club continues to rot away. There is divsion between the 6 Glazers, some want out. Makes a full sale a problem. Now is the time to ramp up protests, not be appeased for them overpaying in desperation for a couple of players.
Of course, transfers a massive smokescreen while they line their pockets again. They take us for fools. Question is, are we?

Glazers don't care. As most are saying, the Glazers will give the green light to spend, now knowing they will be selling up, and the new owners will be servicing the debt and money owed in transfer fees.
Yeah. I believe it's too late now for the Glazers. The fans have been mobilised. They now know someone is willing to buy us. It's no longer just hope that someone will come for us, there is an actual person there who is willing to buy the club.

I think the post is implying they no longer care about counting the pennies and only care about making the club more attractive to a prospective buyer. Again...I stand to be corrected if that's not the point.
