He gives the impression of a man feeling the pressure at the critical stage of the season. He knows that the majority of that Brentford team are the same team that were in the Championship and they could easily fall back down. They don’t have the money to spend on players they’d ideally like to buy, who would give them a better chance of staying up.
And no doubt it’ll be a struggle to keep a hold of the likes of Mbeumo and Toney, and if they lose them while getting relegated then they’ve got a job getting back up again.
Its amazing how many players previously on their books are plying their trade in the PL now while they were in the Championship. Benrahma at West Ham. Konsa and Watkins at Villa. Maupay at Brighton.
