You can see glimpses from him already. Has a nice deft touch, good weight of pass and showing some good delivery. We won’t see the best of him until next season; however, the signs are there that he’s a classy little player.
Not many can see those glimpses going by the match thread and some posts here. Makes you wonder what these people base their judgement off or how much they understand football or even they can ever tell a difference between a good player and a bad one.

It is like when we don't have Pogba for a while and then he comes back into the team. The difference in imagination between him and our other midfielders is stark, despite everything going on with Pogba I find the thought of the two of them in the same midfield a very exciting prospect.

Bruno is also one of the few players I would encourage to shoot at nearly every opportunity. His shooting technique is not only brilliant but uniquely consistent.

Ronaldo: All I did was trap the ball
Bruno: All I did was cross the ball

Did very well and has superb movement.

At the start of the season I posted it's crazy to sign Maguire and have no-one at the club to deliver a ball in for him and said if we sign Bruno he has to take the corners and freekicks into to the box. Hopefully we can get other players chipping in with goals now.

Even just dangerous balls in for rebounds and causing chaos, normally it's a tame ball in then we're trying to stop a counter.
Yep. Worth the price for his set pieces alone!

I thought he was quieter tonight than his first game but had the real quality when needed in his passes and set balls.. He oozes class.

Could we be witnessing the first set piece specialist in the world who didn't lose it once he started playing for United?

Also, it's difficult to see how both Pogba and him fit into the same team, especially without someone like prime Matic or Carrick behind them.
Dont think we'll have to worry about that too much! Would guess if Pogba plays at all this season that Bruno plays on the right, with Pogba, McTominay and Fred being the 3. Or Pogba on the left wing with Martial central and James or Greenwood on the right, and Bruno in midfield.

His set pieces are quality. We finally have someone who can deliver a good set piece.

You can see the difference between him playing instead of Lingard or Pereira already.

Not sure I agree. His job is to create and he doesn't just do the easy passes because of fear he can lose the ball. He tries a lot of risky passes and of course it won't always be successful. All top attacking players lose the ball a lot in these positions but they have the quality to make 2-3 killer passes each game. From what I have seen so far, I think Bruno has it.
The thing for me is, like Mata, his weight of passing for his defence splitting passes are so poorly weighted for the most part. There were two times tonight where we had an attacker through and his passes were too heavy.

He'll occasionally play a banger, but, as someone who's watched him in Portugal, his general passing is hit and miss. It's why I wanted a midfielder who may not be able to play some of the amazing passes Bruno can, but his play in general can lift the team through being press resistant, dribbling, and good interplay.

His set piece deliveries are tremendous! Unlucky not to score either.

I think we have ourselves a really good player here

Need to get some good players around him like Grealish, Sancho etc and I think he will look even better than what we’ve seen.

The thing about Bruno is, people expecting him to be an untouchable ball player like Bernardo Silva or David Silva.

He is not, he is something else.

Not having a half decent functional shooting and long passing technique is the one single thing that annoyed me the most about players like Fellaini and Herrera. I've wondered so many times how the hell you can be a professional footballer playing in midfield for years and have so little to show for it in terms of shooting ability. There's goalkeepers out there with a better long passing range than those two guys.

So yeah it's really nice to have replaced them with someone who works very hard and is capable of putting good crosses, long passes and shots in. Wasn't that involved or great today, still was important with a very good corner and some nice other shots and passes and that's exactly what we need.

Did you see how he chased and chased and chased the ball. He never stopped running, up and down the pitch. There was a moment in the first half when he was pressing the Chelsea defence when the passed back to the goalkeeper, Bruno was chasing and was telling Martial to run back on the right to add more pressure. He is a brilliant signing, miles above the rest of the attack and very intelligent. I cannot wait until Rashford comes back, he will properly benefit from Bruno's first time passes FORWARD. I also want to see Ighalo at top, in his small 5 mons cameo we hugged that front line, showed strength and desire to go forward, Bruno can really feed him. Pogba who?

I have not seen anyone at United that can whip the ball like that from set play since David Beckham!
He better be our first choice FK taker even when Rashford is back - there is absolute no contest

For me he needs to play deeper to be more involved.

I can understand we do have injuries but if we play 352 - we need to have the guts to not play 2 CDM and a CAM so far up.

There was a big gap between those 2 levels.

Fred is now settled & needs to grow in to being a CDM by himself whilst Bruno Fernandes needs to help with some of our creative passing in the centre of midfield more than a CAM who tries to pass to a forward like Martial & James who aren't really that type of forward who get behind the defence to slot a finish behind the goal keeper.

Bruno Fernandes is intelligent enough to make the runs himself from midfield to attacking midfield but our CDM aren't the best passers to get the ball to him when he's too far away to begin with.

Bruno Fernandes - Mctomminay/Pogba.
Fred

We know you have a hard on for likes of Grealish and Maddison. Your stance on Bruno is well known.

You’re writing same stuff after every performance.

Bruno doesn’t posses the finesse in his passing but there’s more qualities to his game which make up for it. His passing in general will be around 80% because of the risks he takes. Get used to it.

Where's my arc, Paulie?
We have been so starved for midfielders who possess natural flair, vision and want to see more of the ball. As opposed to just passing backward or the odd aimless run forward with no sense of purpose. I think Bruno can be a vital cog in our midfield if we can develop some form of consistency moving forward.

It's soon really, let's see how in the medium term he adapts to the intensity of the League, but this few months until the end of the season will be good for him to adapt. Would be nice to see him playing alongside Pogba or Mctominay. One positive note is that it looks he has a good relationship with Fred inside and outside the pitch, he might be helpfull for him. Hopefully he will learn that he cannot for sure have the same reactions he had arguing with the referees here in Portugal. Anyway there are positive signs, no need to overreact, it's just football, and today there's always a lot of hype with the media and social media stuff.

Liked what I saw from him today. Very tidy, class touches and obviously great set pieces. He's gonna get much better.

It's like having Beckham in the team again. Every time he shoots or crosses something will happen.

Imagine him with Rashford, Greenwood and Martial interchanging in front of him. Get Sancho in instead of Martial in the summer and we're looking good in terms of effort as well.

His pressing was impressive.

Midfield, the majority of the time is a job of work, you have to keep doing the small important tasks that matter. With Bruno, Fred and McTominay we are going to have a very physical, aggressive and energetic midfield trio, as talented as Pogba is(and he is magnificently talented) he gets bored doing the monotonous tasks that make up much of midfield work.

He's going to be perfect in a 3 man midfield.

He looks very obviously like he's going to be a success here. Bit of a shame we won't really get to see the best of Fred/Pogba/Bruno given Pogba will likely leave. Those 3 could be perfect together.

We should get Partey added to the midfield and we had look way better.
Partey / Scott / Fred /Fernandes / Grealish is good enough option.

Had a good game today, looked especially good in the 2nd half. His passing range, ability and vision is impressive

He looks so calm and efficient in Midfield which is just what the doctor ordered for the late season top 5 run.

Looking forward to watching his budding partnership with Fred blossom in the latter part of the season. They compliment each others games quite nicely

Like we predicted: he's the player that will prefer to risk that final pass even if the odds are small, hence the main reason he'll never be an 80%+ midfielder.
Rashford will benefit a lot from him.

Some nice crosses to set up chances, I know thats taboo from the Grealish and Maddison threads, but it really doesnt matter where the chances come from and good crosses and headers got us 3 points today
What's up? I can feel there's something going on between the Fernandes vs Maddison/Grealish comparisons. :D

By 80% you mean the passing accuracy or? I agree he sometimes might be frustrating, nevertheless he has a good tactical knowledge, would be nice to see him playing with Pogba to see how they would link up.

The price was fair, the team is shit, and he was dying there. The problem there is much bigger than that.
