I have not seen anyone at United that can whip the ball like that from set play since David Beckham!
He better be our first choice FK taker even when Rashford is back - there is absolute no contest
That's the silverlining of Rashford being out. It gives Bruno a couple of months to get a few screamers in and make him the undisputed free-kick taker.

I don't know how to express this in English, but he is the opposite of the typical Spanish Midfieder type, high precision accuracy passing, he might be the type of old school high risk type of offensive midfielder, sometimes dreadful decisions that might frustrate anyone, but then he can solve games precisely because he takes too many risks. He is a strange one. But he understands the game and works to compensate certain weaknesses of his game, next months will be crucial to adapt to a much more demanding League. Let's see.
That's interesting to hear. I like that he has the high risk type of plays but he also plays within himself and is not shy of tracking back and doing proper defensive work. He seems more like an 8 to me, similar to Pogba but more hard working.

Like others I would like to see him play in a three closer to Fred, facing the ball with Pogba beside him. Two 8's controlling possession and dictating play from the middle of the park, not too far forward as we'd have Rashford and Martial dropping and making the runs. It might be defensively pourous but lots of quality on the ball. One can only hope

It seems like anyone who plays at #10 for us goes to shit. He controlled the game very well against wolves from a deeper role, so we always have that option but I think he'll get better once we actually function as an attacking unit.

This was a one off big game, so can't really judge.
He had a good game?

The thing I like most about him, apart from his set pieces, is his work-rate and willingness to track back. I think that's gonna make his adaptation to the EPL really fast.

I like the intent in his play, he is looking to create chances, take shots, score goals. Decent free-kick that hit the post. Good corner for Maguire's goal. Some nice link-up play with Fred early on and Martial later. Works hard for the team. Annoyed that he failed to control a simple pass, having found space between the lines. A few other moments where he got the execution of the pass wrong.

He did the simple things very well, which is what we need in this team right now. His assist and goals will make it worth it if he just keeps up a consistent good play. I don't mind if he keeps playing a simple game. Enjoyed that performance.

You can see the difference between him playing instead of Lingard or Pereira already.
Yes but if you have Lingard or Pereira sitting on the bench and you need to chase the game.... Enough said.
We need a couple more in the midfield with similar quality on the bench.

Overall general play wasn’t great. Few overhit and under hit passes. Failed to keep the ball under control a number of times. Great delivery on set pieces though. But I was really disappointed with every other aspect of his play.

Weird. Thought he was very good in his overall play, showed his quick feet and quick thinking and ability to play it quickly and under pressure. Will be exactly what we've been missing in midfield IMO.

I know he is so much more as a player but how good it is to finally has someone who can actually take a decent corner.

He was poor in first half but grew massively into the game in the second one. His delivery from set pieces, FKs and corners, are the best I have seen by a United player in ages. He should take all of them.
He could be as bad as Lindgard and it would still be worth having him on the pitch for taking set pieces, hes that much of an upgrade. Also dont think its just by chance we score from our first corner in ages after he took it. Delicious delivery

Quality on and off the ball. Fighting spirit. Superb set piece delivery. Leadership qualities. Excellent passing range. Threat from distance. Fantastic engine.

I am very happy he is our player and no one else’s.

Excited to see him, Fred and Pogba together. Just lots of workrate and technical quality. But if we really want to run opponents into the ground, Fred, Bruno and McTominay will do the job. That is a seriously competitive trio.

Yeah, you can't buy and play the 3 at the same time. But I get @Yagami point. Anyway if he had all those attributes together he would be almost perfect. He is human, sometimes will deliver and sometimes will be called shit. We just need to look at Pogba, but that one had a much higher level of expectations around him, and rightly so.
Well actually if we sell Pogba, I would say we can play all 3 together. Grealish plays on the left of a front 3 for Villa. And we could play a midfield 3 of Bruno, Maddison and McTominay with the latter playing a holding role. Akin to a 4-3-3 that City play. Of course doing this would either mean playing Rashford through the middle or at RW and I don't know if the management plans on doing that. But I don't think it's impossible to fit Grealish, Maddison and Bruno together.

Delivered the best corner we’ve had all season, hit the post on a cheeky free kick and had some brilliant passes, showing excellent vision, that nearly came off. Great performance. Seems like a the type of player who’s dead ball delivery is so good, he can make an impact even when he/the team are performing poorly.

Loved what I saw from him yesterday. Makes you wonder how much better we could have been, had he arrived in summer. Gutted that his freekick hit the post.

Such an exciting player. I can't wait to see him and Rashford play together.

I agree, there’s clearly much more to his game than just being a ‘10’. Him and Fred could literally become the heartbeat of the team over the coming months and years. Exciting.

I loved when Fred was defending Martials prone body against seemingly the entire Chelsea team Bruno was the one to calm him down and lead him back to the ref. Nice to see more leadership in the team.

Thought he was great last night.

Exactly, and it shows just the poor quality of players like Lingard and Periera. Even Mata has lost that threat, and is only useful to keep possesion and be tidy. It is hardly a surprise we struggled to break teams with Pogba out for so long, and having lost Martial and Rashford at different points of the season.

Next window, our targets should be all about attack and midfield.

The difference when no Lingard or Pereira in that no 10 role is massive difference. Knows how to hold the ball & can pick the right pass. Imagine if Rashford is back and at least one of McTominay or Pogba is back to our XI, I think we might have potential the fear factor back again since post Sir Alex era.

Agree with everything you said here. I know it is a small thing, but I was happy to listen to his interview as well, he speaks very good English which will help him to fit in with everyone at the club as well.

Surprised by some negative comments after last night. Thought he looked very classy. Even doing simple things that our other options would’ve fecked up.

Was quite surprised to hear how good his English is in his post-match interview. Good stuff! Should help him settle in really quickly.

If Pogba and Rashford are back, this could look tasty. Two fast wide forwards, with two suppliers who can also score and have decent workrate.

Martial -----------------------------Rashford
(Rashford ------------------------James)

--------- Pogba ---------- Bruno --

----------- Fred --------- McTom --

Looked classy yesterday, great delivery and was constantly trying to play the ball forward in an attempt to play someone in. That meant he gave the ball away sometimes but he never gave up trying to find a through ball. Also, I don't think we can underestimate how good it is to have a set-piece specialist again. Great corner for the assist and unlucky not to have got a goal with the free-kick.

He was not involved enough but good when he was. It's a team issue though, he was finding some great positions and we were playing it safe rather than going through the lines to him.

His actual general play wasn't good. He didn't control the tempo of the game and didn't contribute in that sense. But 2 bits of quality one put the game past them which is good. But I'd like him to contribute more in open play.
We were away at Chelsea one of our bogey grounds, he was never going to be dictating the game. His general play was perfectly fine. He was neat in position, transitioned the ball forward nicely and always looked for runners. I genuinely don't know what some people expect these days.

I think once we get Rashford back and hopefully 2 new attackers in Summer it will flow much more naturally. At the moment we don't really have anyone breaking the lines for him to put through balls in for.

Chelsea clearly aren't a bogey team anymore. Its a poor excuse. I will be expecting more from him cause without those two set pieces he was missing for 60% of the game. He runs alot but atleast you know with pogba he will be in the middle of everything we do. It won't all come off but he doesn't hide from the ball.

If Bruno is a rock song, Mata is like a classical music. Everything runs faster and smoother with Bruno. He is much faster and much alive.

I wouldn't want to start a debate but I could sense that Bruno will be a lot consistent performer than Pogba. And probably, his performances will invalidate most of the arguments people love to make regarding why Pogba couldn't perform at United.

It’s his 2nd game you need to lower your expectations.

The same Pogba who has had about 9 genuinely good games for us in 4 years? Ah ok then

The same pogba that everytime he plays is top ranking for pretty much every attacking stat for us except shooting.

The same pogba who is literally our whole attack when he plays for better or worse pogba is a player who is always involved.
