Hell of a performance.

Sometimes you regret ever saying bad things about him and today is probably one of those days. Brilliant player.

Oddly enough, when looking st most ballon d’or lists, most players are past 30. he’s in his prime now, and he has a physique like Modric, which hopefully means he won’t slow down mich in the next five years.

Agreed. Seems like the sort of player who can retain his form well into his mid 30s (but maybe not to 40 like Modric).

Would be fitting for us to win the final with him scoring his 100th in injury time.
No thanks, most of us are already heart attacks in waiting and we'll need him in the semi-final

I love that he's such an iron man but please give him a breather. Not even on the bench on Sunday.

Too important.

Anyone who ever chatted shit about Bruno Fernandes is total clown. He'll go down as a club legend.

One of his best games, almost scored two bliners. Understand the rabona, he didnt have an angle for his left, it's an easier kick but of course unusual. Maybe he will come good after all:) Shame we just have one player with an ex factor like him. Maybe Amad, now let's break the bank and bring a couple more.

He's been absolutely immense lately. Also fitting he hit the 5000th goal at OT.

I didn't realise that. He actually looked nervous for that penalty, which is unlike him. But his immense technique didn't let him down.

He is a United legend. The one shining star in such difficult times. He gives us everything.

I think the penalties are slightly underrated, the number of high pressure ones he has taken & scored is pretty insane. What a player

I'm more confident when he's taking an incredibly high pressure pen than one that doesn't matter. If he was taking a pen to put us 4-0 up then I could picture him missing it but never, ever in a moment like that. It's almost like her just wouldn't let himself miss.

When he stepped up I was already thinking of the match as being 4-3.

He is at 60/66 pens in his career and at 40/44 since joining United. Very consistent 91% conversion ratio

After Mainoo's goal tonight to make it 4-4 in the 119th minute, instead of running to celebrate with the rest, he headed straight to the goal to get the ball in order to restart the game and get a winner, truly a captain in all ways possible and we're lucky to have him

Again, I’ve been one of his harshest critics over recent years (I still think was justified), but he’s playing the best football of his career right now in my opinion. It’s not just raging gunslinger production, it’s been elite production alongside a far more mature approach as a player. It’s far less hopeful hoofing or stupid touches and he’s picking his spots of WHEN to be aggressive far better.

Genuinely carrying this sad sack of a team since the turn of the year or so. Will be forgotten (unless we win it all), but all credit goes to him man

He's matured his game, I'm guessing (hoping) by instruction. I'm rewatching the last 15 minutes, and there's a couple of instances in which he resisted the proverbial hollywood/desperate ball

He's been very good for a while now

For the last couple of months or so he has been unbelievable. You can see just how much he is willing us to to win.

He deserves more than he has received and hopefully we aggressively bring in quality to capitalise on his prime and give him the support he deserves.

Easily our best signing post Fergie. He’s quality.

Understatement of the century!

I think he's the best player in my lifetime (born late in the late 80's) to not win one of the biggest trophies (so far). Kane will inevitably win one this year and he's the only contender that I can think of.

Him and Shaw have undoubtedly been, to date, our best post SAF signings. Shaw for performance when fit. Bruno for performance when on form and availability. But I don’t think Bruno has played well for half his time. It’s a sht show that gets worse and lack of planning has been a major issue. We are club who sign Fellaini then six months later Mata…who does that?

I don’t blame Bruno for everything in own performance but I won’t pretend he’s been good most of time. Someone last week, one of his super fan, claimed this is his best season. That is really not a good thing. Personally he was dire till January and team have been awful. He had two months good form.

The whole club is joke but that doesn’t mean Bruno has done something to ignore others over same time period.
Surely you've changed your tune on this now? This is more than just a couple of months of good form from Bruno. He's also never had multiple off-seasons like Shaw has. It's insane to me to think that Shaw's performances overall have been better than Bruno's. The two players are leagues apart in terms of quality, consistency and work ethic.

He's immense. Heart of a lion, workrate of a Trojan (were Trojans notoriously hard workers?!) and absolutely tonnes of ability. We are so lucky to have him.

Nearly jizzed my pants tbf when that over the shoulder volley hit the bar - what a goal that would have been.

He's sacrificed his career to this club. He could be the captain and beating heart of any team in the world. So glad he's ours.

The penalty last night was so well struck too. Keeper guessed right and made a great effort. It had to be absolutely perfect to score. But it was never in doubt. Such a boost to any team to have someone who is so reliable at pens.

He’s at his best right now. Under Ole in particular he was a phenomenal stats player who provided great moments, but he’s become such a well rounded player now. Credit to Amorim and his coaches too, as I think they’ve brought some control to his game and focused him.

What’s pretty incredible is how good he’s become in terms of press resistance too. Suddenly he’s great at keeping the ball when being hounded by opposition players, he can skin a player when needed.

I wasn’t one of the people that ever “turned” on him and said he needed to be sold. My view was always that he can’t be sold/dropped as nobody was capable of putting up the numbers he does. But now I’m sure everyone agrees that he’s ironed out those issues that held him back, such as giving the ball away too cheaply etc, and has become an excellent player who is key to everything going forwards. He’s turned in to the player many wanted us to replace him with.

He didn't deserve to lose that game so glad we won. He was outstanding but most of all you could just see his determination. He's a fantastic captain.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a player at United with Bruno’s stamina. Game after game he plays 90 minutes plus and is the one chasing after players right to the death. I know everyone is saying to rest him (he definitely needs some) but he’s the kind of player that gets into a groove the more he plays. Definitely deserves this weekend off but I would keep him involved as we don’t want this sparkling form to wane before the semis!

It's insane to me to think that Shaw's performances overall have been better than Bruno's. The two players are leagues apart in terms of quality, consistency and work ethic. I’m not looking at this with recency bias. Shawn’s quality and consistency when he’s been fit has been what sets him apart. His struggles have been largely with fitness. Bruno’s have been with consistency of performance, while stats have been his gift.
I’m not looking at this with recent bias. Shaws off seasons have been fitness, his consistency and quality when fit are outstanding. Bruno has had huge spells poor form every season, including this. That you all ignore.

That said since around Feb he’s been excellent and last night he was awesome. Proud of the way he played and inspired others.

You know I could flip this conversation, but would be pointless…

Seeing Bruno last few months, surely you recognise the issues with him over last three seasons. This is best he’s played by a long way since first season. And that is long time.

But what is point. You will claim he’s always been this good. Stats.

Looks like you've accidentally included some of your own opinion within my quoted post in the last couple of sentences. You might want to edit that out.

The issue a lot of people had with him in the last couple of seasons was that he would too often try the Hollywood pass instead of being more sensible in possession, but they failed to realise that this was likely a tactical instruction from Ten Hag who encouraged the kamikaze football. It is no coincidence that since Amorim has come in, Bruno has been a little safer in possession. I've also noticed him telling his teammates to 'calm it down' in possession with his arm movements, which we never saw him do under Ten Hag. He is doing exactly what you expect from a captain by carrying out the manager's instructions on the pitch.
