This is a myth. Bruno's passing is very good when you take his difficult/risky passes and set pieces out of the equation. Hell, even with those two it's not that bad. People act as if every CM must have more than 90% pass accuracy, but this is not true.
It's not a myth. Also, by low percentage passer I mean he makes a lot of low percentage passes.

While we're on the topic: has it been established that Amorim wants both of his two AMs to be able to dribble? Or is this just a made up problem created on this forum?
You mean maybe he won't want one of his two AM's to be able to keep the ball better and progress it without always playing risky passes....Hmmmm....hmmm....tough question.

Most players have a few weaknesses. Bruno can keep possession well enough. It's running past established defenders he can't do.

As for your other post: Bruno probably takes more risks because he has (up until now) been asked to do so. Why do you think his pass accuracy goes through the roof the moment he cuts down on the difficult passes? It's because he's nowhere near the liability that some of you accuse him of being.

Also: not every long ball is risky, difficult or a waste of time. That should not be rocket science.

But thanks for answering my question. The new formation turns out to be a non-issue then :)

We need Bruno as close to goal as possible (Amad as well imo). Mainoo can take the role Bruno had to play after dropping deep vs Ipswich. Bruno is a much more effective and better player when he can thread passes through outside the box and when he can get to chances (like he did under OGS and very briefly under RVN). Amad can take the "dribble CAM role" for lack of better words.

Amorim clearly said “we can’t lose the ball so soon after we get it back”. That is the exact opposite of counter attacking football. Bruno played well yesterday but he only excels in transition football.

I hope Amorim tries to play without him and sees what we all have been pointing out for years
you mean what a small but vocal minority has become increasingly obsessed with for years. Don't kid yourself that you're a majority because not many other people can bear to delve into the endless obsessive bitching in this thread.

And right, only excels in transition football. That's why he sucks for Portugal.

It doesn’t matter whether Amorim wants him to “dribble”. By virtue of the system and the areas the inside no.10s will operate in — it naturally requires being able to operate in tight spaces, on the half-turn, picking up the ball in the build-up in substantially different areas than coming deep to receive with the pitch in front of you.

That’s an area Fernandes struggles with. You saw it vs Ipswich. It’s not just “dribbling”.

Man Utd 3:2 FK Bodo/Glimt New
Very, very solid today. I kind of like him in this deeper position, but at the same time it is just so easy to dribble past him. Amorim got some thinking to do.

Yeah I thought he was good today as well but his defensive instincts and capabilities will cause us problems if he plays deeper. He at least provides an option in CM if we are chasing a game.

look better today in a deeper role, more discipline. i mentioned before the Ipswich game that Amorim may play Bruno as a CM rather than AM, with Ugarte as his partner.

I like what I see of Bruno of late. Takes much better care of the ball. Looked smooth in his technics today.

The deeper role suited him very well today. Spread the ball across the pitch, always looking for gaps in play. He is not disciplined enough to be a 10 in my view.

Could possibly see him in that role and Mainoo in a 10 role working as Mainoo is much better in tight spaces but lacks an engine for a whole game at this stage. Thought Bruno was grand tonight.

I'm not a huge fan of him as a central midfielder but he does have a lot of nous that we typically lack in there.

Already looks less or a maverick under the new regime. Less Hollywood style passes and more possession based football.

Agree about the first you say. Fernandes and Ugarte looked a good mix. But this "disiplin issues" that seems to have become a thing, I think is misunderstood. Moving around to create overload around the pitch, I think has been part of the game plan.

He is finally no longer taking corners which is refreshing to see, hopefully we also see him stop doing his obligatory low percentage shots on his left from outside the box.

Too slow and unathletic to play this deep cm role. Team will continue getting rinsed on counters, especially when playing better teams than ipswich and bodo

Too many times they got through out midfield and they were a poor opposition. We are going to get exposed against a strong team.

Can see Bruno and Ugarte being a common partnership as see in midfield especially as Bruno ages. Depends on opponent but Bruno is gonna play, just depends if it's as a 10 or as an 8. Huge benefits either way that others in our squad don't provide.

It worked vs Leicester a couple of weeks ago, to be fair. I don't mind him doing one of those per game (mainly because long distance goals are becoming a dying art) but he did it too many times tonight. The shots with his weaker foot are what drive me mental, as they're essentially almost zero percentage shots.

Unpopular opinion he would be relegated to bench before end of the season and United would try to move him in Summer .

Not a chance in hell, Bruno will remain a key player because he's our best player just as he has been since he joined.

From 2:18 on Bruno

I really like that CM role for him and it definitely seems like Amorim agrees. A lot more time on the ball, can use his passing range and vision while Bruno is noticeably playing more controlled with his passing under Amorim. As a 10 you need to play in the tight spaces under pressure, back to goal... And we know that's not his strength. As a midfield pairing, tons of potential for him to prolong his peak for us. Whatever it is, you know he will be key.

We will soon find out won't we , Bruno's limitations as CM would get exposed soon enough it's just the matter of time . I wouldn't get carried away .

And honestly Amorim would be lucky to last as long as Ten Hag did if he makes Bruno his key player going forward , but I believe he is smarter than that and even if Bruno isn't sold in Summer he won't be regular from next season fully confident on that .

Maybe it will work with him deeper and players like Mount and Amad behind the striker as they are more capable of playing quick passes in tight spaces and offer better movement.
However, he seems a bit average at best as CM so let’s see.

If Bruno plays the CM position i ask myself where does this leave Mainoo?

Cant help but think that we have better solutions in CM aswell as in this AM Positions in the longterm.

For the moment Bruno definitely has a place in the Team. But he should be rotated as well and not be nailed no matter what.

I agree, we should be looking to sell him next summer (should've been last summer).

I hated how with 25 mins to go, he's telling everyone to calm down and play it around at the back to keep the ball.
Isnt keeping the ball a good thing?

You're going to hate football under a coach who wants control and for us to stop being so wasteful then.

I see him as a good option in midfield only against relatively lightweight teams. As soon as we play strong teams his weaknesses will be glaring. Amorim however can allow him a bit more room to run arround and look for space in our build up as a CM more than anywhere else, and that's what I think he'll do for the time being.
