He's just so impactful. Great to see him back among the numbers and he absolutely SHOULD to be up there for prem player of the year. I suspect he won't win it because we've been poor as a collective, but he certainly deserves to be there or thereabouts.
If he breaks the assist record I reckon he’ll get it

Ruined so many attacks today with his terrible passing in the final third

Take away his 'terrible' passing and we create feck all. Bruno's passing was the root of pretty much every chance we created.

Sometimes it's ridiculous how much impact he has in the final third.

- Perfect cross for a Sesko header in the first half. Almost assisted Casemiro on a free-kick as well.
- Almost scored a great free-kick.
- Played a great first-time pass for the penalty/red card situation.
- Scored the penalty
- Assisted the winner.

Never take him for granted. He should be a very serious candidate for POTY, but I imagine it goes to someone winning the league (which is also fair enough).

He'll lose out to the arsenal set piece coach.

The problem for us from the previous two games was his lack of involvement. He was absent and poor. Thought he started that way too, but as we woke up, and the more influential he got, the better we played.

His impact in the second half was monumental. It's also amazing how good he is when executing that final pass into space.

That cross field pass to Mbeumo off a corner which created the Casemiro chance was absolutely ridiculous. The guy is a freak honestly.

It's incredible pass to hit it like that on the half volley on the turn. The pass for Cunha that led to the penalty was perfect. The cross for Sesko was right where he needed it to be for a header.

I've always felt he could be as effective if he tried less killer balls with better timing. But the more football becomes rigid and boring, the more I want to see him try this stuff during games. These passes will always outweigh the ones that don't come off when they lead to chances. If you try 10 and 2 end up as goals it's generally worth having someone in there capable of it.

Absolutely. I can't think of anything worse than players just passing it around pointlessly amongst themselves around the half way line without anyone taking any sort of a risk. Everytime Bruno gets the ball in even a yard of space I get so excited about the prospect of something happening which is what football should be like.

Probably the best player in the league right now along with Haaland in terms of sheer numbers + differential value they both bring to the side.

You take out Semenyo or Cherki or Donnarumma from City or Mbeumo from United or Ekitike from Liverpool or Rice from Arsenal - they will all be lesser sides for it, but none of those drops will be as steep as removing Bruno and Haaland from United and City.

We will realize his world class value only when he leaves and we inevitalby struggle in his absence. We're lucky to have him, and his bad days are a very small price to pay for the immense contributions of his good days.

My captain.

He also had a nice pass to Amad where he took two defenders the wrong way with him, where most players would jay struggle to control the ball. His creativity is really on a different plane from others.

Agreed.

Especially when the ones that don’t come off don’t cost us anyways.

Any other era with the club and he’d be considered one of our greatest and one of the league’s greatest. When I look at him, he doesn’t look like a footballer he isn’t astoundingly strong or fast. But my God, his brain is about five yards ahead of everybody else on the pitch, and his ability to deliver again and again is next level. He has taken some flak over the years from some on this forum, but he has been the best player in the league this year out of all 20 clubs involved, and is utterly deserving of the title that’s branded far too loosely around the world. World class plain as day

I watched this and moaned when he first hit the pass thinking it was overhit to no one. Then stood up and applauded!

Whatever Saudi was offering in the summer was not even close to enough.

The best number 10 in PL history after De Bruyne. Every team in the world would love to have Bruno playing for them, yet we have our own fans who don’t appreciate this guy and want him sold every week

He had an absolutely phenomenal second half but I have no idea how people can watch that pass and think it's difficult for a professional football player to make that pass. The idea is great and most football players wouldn't think of doing it, but the pass itself is getting ridiculous credit. He's literally just kicking it "behind" on a half volley in acres of space.

If you're going by a very strict definition of no.10, meaning no 2nd strikers etc, then you are probably right. You could make a strong argument for David Silva, but there's not that much between the two.

I actually think he's in with a pretty decent chance this year, especially if we stay in our current position. Who's his rival, really? No-one at Arsenal stands out, maybe Rice at a stretch? Maybe Haaland, but he's been a bit streaky this season. Semenyo could be a candidate if City win the league. Morgan Rogers? Bruno's numbers and performances shit on his. If he keeps a similar level for the remainder of the season, hes the favourite.

It’s probably the vision that Bruno saw in that instance. Not many players in the world can see and then make that pass, let alone execute it perfectly

That's pretty much the opposite of what he did.

Here's hoping! I suspect if arsenal win he league Rice probably gets it, unfortunately, as he's an English league winner and probably the key player in that team. Gabriel also probably up there? I do think Bruno has been the more deserving though.

Have you heard of a guy named Wayne Rooney?

I don't think it demonstrates great vision to be honest. One quick look and he would know Mbeumo is all alone there. Looks good but not anywhere near the pass it's made out to be.

Go on? The video is right here. He's running to the ball in front of him and kicking it backwards/side with power on the half volley, cross field to a player all alone with no players around him. Mbeumo also has to run to the ball, not like he was standing there and the pass landed perfectly at his feet.

David Silva
Cantona
Zola
Dwight Yorke all above him off the top of my head.

Right. It was just luck that it went directly to mbuemo in acres of space to play the cross.

This is bizarre. It bounced once and straight into a stationary mbuemo chest.

Is any pass that is not luck a world class pass..?
I didn't say it was world class. But you're acting like he just randomly booted a ball into space. He spotted mbuemo and picked him out perfectly. It's not an easy pass at all.

If he was stationary, it would have been offside.
Sweet jesus. Do you watch football matches? The first thing a corner taker does after taking a corner is move a few yards away from the by line so as not to be caught offside. He didn't move because of the pass. He moved because it's football 101
