Wasted his career with us unfortunately. Deserves to be at a club like Madrid where he can play with players of a similar ability. Not this mid-rable bunch he's been lumbered with.
It was strange seeing him drop deeper as the game went on, to the point where he was playing CB at the end. Performed admirably in the second half despite being out of position.
Assist was amazing but his performance to that point was reminiscent of his performances under Ten Hag against Bournemouth, Palace etc
He's been doing that almost every time we chase a goal for almost 4 years. It doesn't matter who's manager, Bruno must have the ball (for good reason).
Those last 20 minutes tonight, he definitely played deeper than anything I've seen under Carrick, Ole and most of Ten Hag. I would've preferred to see him CM rather than CB when we're chasing a goal, as we need him closer to the final third.

It's annoying because he would be useful around the box but our defenders & midfielders are so useless with the ball so he has to drop deep too much.
Commentator called it quarterback which seems pretty spot on (even though I have no clue at all about American football). He is dropping deeper so he can play the balls nobody else will play. And did so. Didn't think he was doing too greatly but fine for sure and good for him keeping his head, there were a few minutes where I thought he might be losing his temper. Have only seen 2nd half for now though so no final verdict.
Well this definitely is a factor but I think the more important one is that we seem to have no issue that set pieces and long balls are the upper limit of attacking capabilities we have. And if longballs is what the default is, it makes sense to that the best long ball player gets into a position where he can hit them with the least resistance. We scored from a set piece and Bruno gave an assist so good chance that most won't see any issues with that.
Its not about one player. Bruno has a very good season but manager says the tactics. And manger is not good enough in the first place. Many of these players will come good when we step up on that front.
Is every manager they have had clueless? Of course tactics are very important but so is ability and attitude and the attitude we saw he first half tonight and so many other nights is atrocious.
Hopefully we get a tactical astute manager in but the best manager in the world is not going to make this squad competitive at the top level without a good few quality signings more up to Bruno's standard.
One of the most important responsibilities of manager is also attitude, how hard you work on and off the ball. Manager without motiivation is nobody. That does apply outside of football as well.

I sense we're still stuck when it all comes down to it about the 'not playing Bruno in a midfield three but needing to play a midfield three' conundrum.

Ten Hag as well. One example: FA cup against Liverpool. Bruno was quarter backing from center back and Antony left back.
Its also because our wingers and fullbacks dont tend to cross the ball much this season. We tend to go down the wing, then pass it back to Bruno who crosses from a bit deeper and thats how he has a lot of his assists. So in games like last night where Leeds were having some success with an extra man preventing Bruno getting loads of time to get those crosses in, I think we moved him back to try and get more oppertunities to get the ball towards the box.
Overall he was okay not great. Some of his crosses werent very good. But he is Bruno, so of course he got 1 right and got an assist
His assists help him avoid scrutiny. Especially when it come to conceding possession frequently. And it isn’t because he’s trying ambitious passes. He loses it doing that thing he does where he turns with the ball in his own half completely unaware the opposition are fielding players and he’ll just run into someone and lose the ball. It happens at least half a dozen times every match and it always leads to a dangerous situation for the defence
