Yes, it's true. I was against upgrading his deal when he started saying he needed to feel loved when he 2+1 years on his 250K deal. And now, close to 32 with 1+1 on a 300K deal I think
it's telling that there are no links to major clubs so what is his leverage? Like I said, the only logical reason I can imagine for the decision makers upgrading him to 400K is if they know they are bringing in a player who will earn about the same, and it is understandable that they'd want to give Bruno parity or keep him as the best paid player at the club. I think we shouldn't give him more than guaranteed two years, with an option if he does get an extension. The Salah example is crystal clear.
If, however, the club is not bringing in a player on superstar wages (Tchouameni, or similar) then I see no reason for them giving Bruno 400K. Again, there are no links to a Bayern or a Barca. That ship has sailed (if it was ever really there).
