Bruno Fernandes Out? | Staying at Man United

Not alot do, Bruno Fernandes is not alot of players either... How many players can stay fit for 5 years in a row? Not many right?

Bruno Fernandes is a midfielder and many footballers do well post 30, this theory you have that footballers cant play past 30 is a joke.

It depends, do you want to operate in a way you sell your best asset because you feel his value is the highest now? Or do you try and improve as a team? I know what you would do...

We might as well sell Mainoo while we are at it right? Because evidence at Manutd suggests players dont increase in value... See Rashford, Lingard and all as "data examples"

So we should sell Mainoo for 80m and that can fund our rebuild? Sell Bruno for 100m, that way you have more money for a rebuild.

Seems like you are failing to understand what 3 years means.

We bought AWB in 2019 for £50m .+ 3 years is 2022.. We sold him in 2024 for 18m.

Our bad buys has everything to do with Bruno because if you go with your data that every player becomes crap after 30...

Well I have bad news... every player we sign.. in 3 years is nowhere near what it is now.

Do you know the exception? Bruno Fernandes.

FFS you are inventing things to fit your narrative and frankly I dont know what else I can say here because the mental leaps you are making are crazy.

I never said players cant play past 30. You are making that up. I said players typically decline after 30. Thats a fact and isnt worth discussing further. If you cant wrap your head around that, theres nothing I can do for you. Are their exceptions to the rule? Sure, always are. But I'll stick with the odds.

Should we sell our best asset? You act like thats a black and white. There's a lot to consider. Where is the team in terms of competing? Is there a readymade replacement in the squad? Are the finances tight? How old are they? Do they fit the style of play? Will they still be useful when the team is ready to compete? etc. etc. etc.

You jumping to we should sell Mainoo because I'm suggesting we sell a 30 year old for 100 mil is just nonsensical. If you think that logic makes sense, again I cant help you. The situation there is completely different.

Ok, now lets get to the craziest shit you keep saying...somehow you've taken what I said and turned it into "we should never buy players because they lose value in 3 years". Honestly I'm dumbfounded here. Not only is that nothing close to anything I've said, but to even pretend it makes sense is crazy. And then somehow you double down with some anecdotal examples and claim its "data". I'm really starting to think you dont know what data means.

Let me try to reign you in... what does how much we've sold failed players have to do with selling Bruno for 100 mil now? Those are completely separate situations that have nothing to do with one another. Are you arguing that Bruno has been one of our few successful transfers in recent years because his value has gone up? I dont think anyone would argue against that. But that has nothing to do with selling him for 100 mil now.

Anyway, this thread doesnt merit further discussion because he's agreed to stay anyway. I hope you guys are right and he maintains his ability and fitness for a long time.
