So what is your gut feeling about the situation? It's not how he sounded like so far
Hmm I'd like to believe that Bruno loves the club and doesn't actively want out. At the same time I think we'd be willing to leave if we want the money, but not at any price or to any clubSo what is your gut feeling about the situation?
Not a good time for us to lose our best player when finishing 1 place above relegationWhen Bruno saw what McT achieved in Serie A, it’s hard not to think to win a league title to complete his career. For us, he is aging. Might be a good time to part away.
Remember people, United sold the likes of Becks, Ronnie, Rooney etc. We will survive without Bruno. Hard to pass on 100mil.
I very much doubt that the offer will be that big next year and club probably realise that tooAt those times, we were not as reliant to a player like we are now with Bruno. Everything that United does goes through him. By the sounds of it, his sale is really being considered by the top brass, but not by Amorim. These Saudi rumors were present last year as well, before he signed the improved contract.
If we have to sell him, I rather we do it next year, when the new team will be more settled in, and we won't have a style of play where one person is so crucial for us. It would be a real slap in the face for the board if he goes to an European team.
I think context would be important before assuming that. It doesn’t seem to be a suggestion at all. This makes it sound as if it's Bruno who wants out
Because he is a shit captain to begin with?We are not Arsenal, why should we sell the captain? If it really happens, the team's performance will not improve next season, and the head coach will be responsible. Of course, if this is to raise transfer funds and the decision of the club management is another matter. GREEN & GOLD
What was your reaction to keane’s comments?I've already put forward my counterpoints, which are that you're omitting certain stats because to include them doesn't suit your argument, and you're ignoring how important he is to the team beyond pure goals and assists. Almost everything threatening we do involves him. There's a reason that hardly any pros have a negative thing to say about him - managers, teammates, peers etc. it's because he's really good and extremely important to the team.
We're never going to agree on this so it's probably pointless to continue the bank and forth.
As a sidenote, is quite amusing how the pro Bruno crowd are often painted by the other side as obsessed with stats and ignoring everything else, yet when the anti Bruno folks think they can make an argument based on stats, suddenly stats are the most objective metric possible.
Like I said, I'm not going to get into a back and forth with you again on this as it's pointless, neither of us is likely to change our mind. What was your reaction to keane’s comments?
As for stats personally I prefer eye test, you just struggle with anything that doesn’t suit your narrative. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t make it wrong. Ignoring a hat trick in one game, 3 points, doesn’t go against a consistent run of 20 games when player supposedly carries team. You’re desperate.
In any case this is not stats. It’s eye test of player carrying team. This is five consecutive league games from start of season. I could do more if you like, the next five?
First five comments of every game from Liverpool to Villa….
Fails to deliver in nearly every big game.
Piss poor. Struggled with basic passing and absolutely ran away from the midfield.
Houdini
Bagged the contract and he hasn’t played well since. We’ll have to wait a few months for the chance creation stats to accumulate again.
Worst captain of all time. He should be stripped and never wear the armband again

This was a typical Bruno game where he manages to get an assist, but his build up phase when under tiny little bit of pressure is so poor hence why he always choose to get rid of the ball as soon as he receives it and he has this selfish mentality of wanting to get G/A’s over other sensible options to transition attacking phases, I cannot imagine how we will ever be able to play dominate football with him in the side.
He was our worst player and moves constantly broke down through him being dispossessed. But made a really important contribution with the goal for De Ligt.
Thought he was poor again but the game was pretty comfortable so not much to complain about. It is a bit worrying he is yet to get going at all this season, though
He’ll have the assist by his name from De Ligt, but the game seemed to pass him by
He looked to be holding off on the Hollywood balls today. Good assist but thought apart from that he was absolutely terrible. Kept needing an extra second on the ball and getting dispossessed. The amount of times I was shouting at him to wake the feck up

What the hell has happened to him? I've accepted his flaws, but this is unacceptable. Truly shocking performance, and it can't continue or we're going to have a long season ahead of us. Needs to be benched for some time, I think.
I can't stand this guy. Stinks it up nearly EVERY game.
Been absolutely terrible since signing the contract. Even last season he only turned up towards the end and was poor for most of it. Another case of the club being finessed for a bumper deal
got fed up with his aimless passes
Amazing first half (other than the big miss), but the second half was absolutely shocking. Once he started looking for the hollywood pass every time, we stopped creating anything and gave Palace the chance to get back into the game

The fact that we played better with 10 when he went off speaks volumes.
The red was extremely harsh but even before then he was terrible. A massive problem for this team.
All the discussion will be around the red rather than the fact he's been dogshit in all 7 league games this season
Hopefully the ban is upheld and we don't get the misfortune of seeing him for the next 3 games
Never a red... either way he's been shocking for too long, we won't miss him
Please sell him. I hope a new manager demotes him as captain and plays him as a squad player. If he doesn't hit the heights I hope he's consistent enough to want out as he only wanted to be here in the summer if the club wanted him. Saudi beckons

Can he please be benched, useless non existent player.
Constant stinkers yet is never held accountable for his performances. Only has a good 20 mins vs Barnsley in an already won game to his name this season. Complete liability outside of that.
An absolute non-entity this season. We’ve looked better playing 10 men without him.
The only reason he keeps finishing games is team politics and nothing else.
Loved his heel-flip in the buildup to open a great opportunity for Villa in the 1st half. His freekick was very nice though. Weird player. Don't think, he was a particular problem today. If we wanted to go for counters, it would have been daft not to play him. On form, no doubt he should get a time out but I guess todays match wouldn't have been changed by that.
That's what I mean. All the reports so far didn't sound as if it was Bruno wanting out but rather United maybe willing to cash inI think context would be important before assuming that. It doesn’t seem to be a suggestion at all.
His EL final post-match comments seemed indicative of a player who at the very least is considering leaving. That's what I mean. All the reports so far didn't sound as if it was Bruno wanting out but rather United maybe willing to cash in
That’s fine. Thanks for facilitatingLike I said, I'm not going to get into a back and forth with you again on this as it's pointless, neither of us is likely to change our mind.
You certainly wouldn't get an offer anywhere near the figure that Al Hilal are supposedly putting on tableif I were him, I would leave and join a Serie A club and try to compete for trophies.
He has carried us last few years. Yet a decently sized segment of the fanbase tries to scapegoat him. The disrespect is insane.
I get your point but a side note: Coutinho wasn't nearly as good as Bruno. Liverpool had Barca's pants down there - the two most knowledgeable Liverpool fans I'm friends with were gobsmacked they paid that much.Could be a situation like Liverpool selling Coutinho. Sold their crown jewel but ultimately helped them build a more cohesive unit.
Meh don't agree. He has had enough pens could see him not really caring about it.If he's giving up that penalty I can't see him leaving
Its not about the pen, it's about the farewell.Meh don't agree. He has had enough pens could see him not really caring about it.
I think he'd want a goal on his last game personally. Doesn't look upset, nothing, just don't see it genuinely happening, I think he'll want to stay and help us, if we aren't gonna force him out I don't see him wanting to goMeh don't agree. He'll want to stay for sure. All the soft factors aside, no other team in a League where he'd stay relevant in will give him the wages we do. And nowhere would he be as untouchable as here. The soft factors might be there or not but they aren't even needed as there isn't a plausible scenario for him to leave. He is way too comfortable around here and if trophies were really a thing for him, he would have walked between 2021 and 2022.We will still get a fortune for him next summer. I assume he'll want to stay and see what happens next season. We really need him

Oh, no doubt, if those crazy offers are out there, if I were him, I'd consider them for sure. But I consider him a player who genuinely wants to play in a relevant league and I guess he is aware that he is paid quite decently where he is. He doesn't have the same standing as Ronaldo though in Portugal. Plus plays in a position where there are a few other players capable of taking his spot in the NT.That's pretty fair. 200 million in the man's pocket off the back of his worst season in the game though. Also club is in turmoil. Ronaldo kept his NT spot playing out there. Only god knows...

Absolutely agree. Issue is, games like today will cement the idea of him being a central midfielder in some peoples minds, which while understandably, doesn't take into account that we played against a rather lacklustre Villa side who were even a man down for most of the game. I see why he has to play there right now, since we have absolutely nobody capable of at least above average passing ability, but thats one of the main things we have to rectify in the summer.I also think we need him a lot closer to goal. He's decent in midfield but he's just doing a job. He should be a 8 at the deepest but one of the tens or even a false 9. He'd get you 20 goals a season. We just need someone who can get the football forward really well from midfield and someone else who can actually cross a ball and let him focus on scoring and creating. He shouldn't be out playmaker just like Rooney shouldn't have been either
