When Bruno saw what McT achieved in Serie A, it’s hard not to think to win a league title to complete his career. For us, he is aging. Might be a good time to part away.
 
Those quotes suggest Ruben is trying to convince him we are building something and wants him to be part of it

Not a good time for us to lose our best player when finishing 1 place above relegation
 
Bruno out - Rogers in... young, powerfull, technical, ball carrier... the only question how to convince him and Villa to sell their best player?
 
If anyone is offering us 100m for Bruno then we should rip their hands off.

Yes he's creative and passionate, but he's also flawed, he doesn't retain possession well. If we can replace him with two younger players we should.
 
We are not Arsenal, why should we sell the captain? If it really happens, the team's performance will not improve next season, and the head coach will be responsible. Of course, if this is to raise transfer funds and the decision of the club management is another matter. GREEN & GOLD

At those times, we were not as reliant to a player like we are now with Bruno. Everything that United does goes through him. By the sounds of it, his sale is really being considered by the top brass, but not by Amorim. These Saudi rumors were present last year as well, before he signed the improved contract.

If we have to sell him, I rather we do it next year, when the new team will be more settled in, and we won't have a style of play where one person is so crucial for us. It would be a real slap in the face for the board if he goes to an European team.

I very much doubt that the offer will be that big next year and club probably realise that too
 
if I were him, I would leave and join a Serie A club and try to compete for trophies.

He has carried us last few years. Yet a decently sized segment of the fanbase tries to scapegoat him. The disrespect is insane.

As for stats personally I prefer eye test, you just struggle with anything that doesn’t suit your narrative. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t make it wrong. Ignoring a hat trick in one game, 3 points, doesn’t go against a consistent run of 20 games when player supposedly carries team. You’re desperate.

In any case this is not stats. It’s eye test of player carrying team. This is five consecutive league games from start of season. I could do more if you like, the next five?

This was a typical Bruno game where he manages to get an assist, but his build up phase when under tiny little bit of pressure is so poor hence why he always choose to get rid of the ball as soon as he receives it and he has this selfish mentality of wanting to get G/A’s over other sensible options to transition attacking phases, I cannot imagine how we will ever be able to play dominate football with him in the side.

He was our worst player and moves constantly broke down through him being dispossessed. But made a really important contribution with the goal for De Ligt.

Thought he was poor again but the game was pretty comfortable so not much to complain about. It is a bit worrying he is yet to get going at all this season, though

What the hell has happened to him? I've accepted his flaws, but this is unacceptable. Truly shocking performance, and it can't continue or we're going to have a long season ahead of us. Needs to be benched for some time, I think.

I can't stand this guy. Stinks it up nearly EVERY game.

Been absolutely terrible since signing the contract. Even last season he only turned up towards the end and was poor for most of it. Another case of the club being finessed for a bumper deal

The red was extremely harsh but even before then he was terrible. A massive problem for this team.

An absolute non-entity this season. We’ve looked better playing 10 men without him.

The only reason he keeps finishing games is team politics and nothing else.

Loved his heel-flip in the buildup to open a great opportunity for Villa in the 1st half. His freekick was very nice though. Weird player. Don't think, he was a particular problem today. If we wanted to go for counters, it would have been daft not to play him. On form, no doubt he should get a time out but I guess todays match wouldn't have been changed by that.

Like I said, I'm not going to get into a back and forth with you again on this as it's pointless, neither of us is likely to change our mind.
 
I love Bruno and he's one of the last players I'd want to sell, but for £100m plus then it's the pragmatic choice given his age.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if anyone actually does offer that sort of money though.
 
At £100m, you have to tell Bruno - it's not that we don't want you but if you want to go to Saudi we will not be standing in the way. If you want a PSG/Bayern then they will have to fork out a similar value, which the club and Bruno knows won't happen.

I get your point but a side note: Coutinho wasn't nearly as good as Bruno. Liverpool had Barca's pants down there - the two most knowledgeable Liverpool fans I'm friends with were gobsmacked they paid that much.

I think he'd want a goal on his last game personally. Doesn't look upset, nothing, just don't see it genuinely happening, I think he'll want to stay and help us, if we aren't gonna force him out I don't see him wanting to go

He'll want to stay for sure. All the soft factors aside, no other team in a League where he'd stay relevant in will give him the wages we do. And nowhere would he be as untouchable as here. The soft factors might be there or not but they aren't even needed as there isn't a plausible scenario for him to leave. He is way too comfortable around here and if trophies were really a thing for him, he would have walked between 2021 and 2022.

That's pretty fair. 200 million in the man's pocket off the back of his worst season in the game though. Also club is in turmoil. Ronaldo kept his NT spot playing out there. Only god knows...

Oh, no doubt, if those crazy offers are out there, if I were him, I'd consider them for sure. But I consider him a player who genuinely wants to play in a relevant league and I guess he is aware that he is paid quite decently where he is. He doesn't have the same standing as Ronaldo though in Portugal. Plus plays in a position where there are a few other players capable of taking his spot in the NT.
 
Saying in interview right now he wants to give more brilliant moments, just can't see him going.
 
He will be part of the rebuild, just found a new position for him and the team will be much stronger and play some fantastic football which he will be part of. Too early for him to sign off. Even if it's 100m he's the captain and we cant rebuild the whole team. He knows the ideas and should be part of the rebuild, can still go to Italy easily at 33 and get an easy title or two in a slower paced league. he's moving more into a playmaker role, so he should be fine till 35 there, or look at Isco..

I also think we need him a lot closer to goal. He's decent in midfield but he's just doing a job. He should be an attacking 8 at the deepest but one of the tens or even a false 9. He'd get you 20 goals a season. We just need someone who can get the football forward really well from midfield and someone else who can actually cross a ball and let him focus on scoring and creating. He shouldn't be our playmaker just like Rooney shouldn't have been either

Absolutely agree. Issue is, games like today will cement the idea of him being a central midfielder in some peoples minds, which while understandably, doesn't take into account that we played against a rather lacklustre Villa side who were even a man down for most of the game. I see why he has to play there right now, since we have absolutely nobody capable of at least above average passing ability, but thats one of the main things we have to rectify in the summer.
