No, you’re talking about Van de Beek.
However he can shag mine if he signs for us
I will be honest, I don't want him here. I just don't see it with him. I always tend to trust my instinct. I don't hate him though.
I watched him all season. Over 50 games. I can assure you that is absolute bs. He could have had at least 25 assists this season alone just on the chances he created for his teammates who missed.
Trust me I can tell. You are more on the Felix camp.
Which is fine everyone has there own opinion but trust me he has made more then 9 big chances this season.
Nope. Van de Beek created 7 big chances as a SS. While he was deployed as a no 8 in the previous season, he created 11 big chances whereas Bruno Fernandes only created 9 big chances despite the fact that he's his team's set pieces taker.
Didn't mean it in a bad way
However if he stays at Sporting he can shag mine
If you say so.
I haven't got a wife to offer, but I'll give him a can of Coke Zero if he signs and gets Rashford off freekicks.
I have seen over 50 games of his this season so yes I would like to think I am pretty reliable.
@SportingCP96 is very reliable when it comes to Portuguese football imo . I watched him a bit myself this year and I also think he is great . For me I would prefer Bruno to Felix but I certainly didnt watch him as much as @SportingCP96 .
Thank you for that.
As for Felix or Bruno it depends what you are looking for and what you think both can offer right now.
Bruno has more of a chance to make an impact than Felix off the bat because Felix had 6 months of professional football in his boots. He is very talented but is not ready yet. The smart move would be staying in Benfica 1 more season. Bruno has outgrown the league already and is ready for the next step.He was the best player in Portugal by a mile and if you swap him and Felix in Benfica he probably has an even better season as does Benfica.
By buying Felix you are paying for what he might become rather then what he is right now but if you spend over 100M on a player you would want immediate impact and as he showed vs Switzerland he is not fully ready yet (I believe in his talent and potential unlike Renato who I knew was a scrub from the get).
Felix could be special but he is not there just yet.
If I am wrong and Bruno turns out to be shite ill be the first to say I was wrong but I believe he can be a good player in the EPL. His ceiling I think is a Christian Eriksen level of output in the EPL. A poor mans De Bruyne if you will.
This video shows 15 "big chances" alone not counting a majority of his assists either and missing some plays from other videos as well.
Where do you get that number from?
This guy is what we need here, and I can't see what the hold up is. Come on Woodward, get your finger out.
On sofascore. I'm only talking about his Portuguese league exploit, not Europa League because his team played against some weak teams such as Qarabag, vosqlak etc.
1) Some noodle and tractor sponsorships to be signed on priority
2) Waiting for someone else to make a bid (and actually sign him)
3) Preparing unveiling video theme before the hypothetical signing
Do you have a link to where you can find those numbers on Sofascore? Or how they define «big chances»? Or even how they compare to others than Felix? Felix played for a team that scored more than 100 goals. Sporting scored approx 70.
It actually look like Bruno both had most assists and key passes from open play. Your argument therefor looks a bit flawed.
I think this one will swing on what happens Pogba . After his latest comments this could be on the cards . Sell pogba buy Bruno and a couple of others like Tielesman etc . And strengthen the squad whilst losing your marquee player
Need to get him in now, deal must me likely if that mouth pogba is talking
You can check on sofascore. Felix created 12 big chances for his team mates whereas Bruno created 9 big chances. I don't know how it was calculated.
I did not find it in there...
When you consider the other stats it sounds wrong, irrelevant or like a misunderstanding. Would therefor be interesting to look into the numbers.
Here are Bruno's stats:
And here are Pogba's for comparison:
9 chances created is not too shabby by comparison (weaker league, though, obviously).
What is this big chance created? How can a player made more assists than the number of big chances, is an actual assist of the goal not considered big chance? Why is it so important?
Its not. But someone wanted it to be.
I do think this will be our Pogba replacement. Feck knows how it'll pan out to be honest
Put him in Mata/Lingard role, a floating RW who drift inside, then get a flying attacking rightback. We'll be in for a treat.
Bruno, Chiesa and Cancelo. One can dream
Tbf, I don't anything about those three, but their names sound like a flair attacking player. Get them!
Eek, that sounds horrible. As someone who's watched him a fair bit, I'm confident he'd be as big of a problem there as Mata, Mkhi and Kagawa were when deployed out wide. Like them, and the reason I didn't want either Mata of Mkhi when initially linked, he's too lightweight.
Maybe he'd work if we had someone like Poch as a manager who gets the team as a whole to function together, but we're a team who rely on individuals to come up with something out of nothing and, like the aforementioned players, I see him struggling here as a result. Regardless of the position he'd be played in, honestly.
From the little I’ve seen of him - we’d be stupid to play him wide.
Midfield 3, his ability to hit a ball from distance will come in handy. Bruno, Pogba (if we can keep him), and someone who can pass the ball from deep sounds a good midfield.
Kagawa was playing under Sir Alex. It was as function as a team you could have. Mata was Chelsea's best payer for a season or two, before he lost his mojo by being so nice of a person.
I give you Mkhi though. It was a "total" failure, albeit he helped us winning Euro and League cups in 1st season.
Bruno will not be deployed out-wide, but more of a floating playmaker, just like Eriksen here
Spurs also use Son to drift inside. And they have TWO attacking fullbacks to stretch the field. That's why we need at least one GOOD attacking FB.
The Portugal games in the Euro Nations cup, whilst not a huge sample, showed that he is far better through the middle and even better if he can drift around as he can find pockets of space well. When he played out wide he was restricted to crossing and never came in position to shoot, which was a huge waste.
Unless we can instruct him better then he has to play centrally if you want to get the best out of him, from what I've seen.
As shown vs Switzerland putting him out wide is useless you're resitwciitng him to to see far less of the ball and restricting him from floating around the 18 yard box where and loose ball that falls his way is a 60% chance he bangs it in. Football is simple guys if you have a guy who banged in 34 goals from midfield playing down the middle....play him down the middle.
Lot's of good goalscorer/playmaker playing out as floating wide player and being successful. Neymar with Barca, Eriksen with Spurs, Ozil with Madrid, Iniesta with Spain 2008-20014 (while SPain won everything there that could've been won), and Hazard with Chelsea (except last season).
Football is not a rigid formation.
Obviously but not ever situation is similar. Every single player you named is completely different.
Hazard and Neymar were both wingers for a decent chunk of there career. Iniesta was just so good he was able to fill that role and was not a goalscoring midfielder like Bruno.
Ozil best performances came down the middle.
Its like playing Lampard out wide. Does not make any sense to do it with Bruno. You need wide players who will get in behind and take on players and spread out play and United have not had that in a long time
According to Ed Woodward's Facebook profile, he reached agreement with Sporting Lisbon for Bruno on 9th June.
Can someone confirm if it's really Ed's fb account ?
Yes i can confirm.
So, Bruno is ours?
Yes. The Amsterdam flight has taken a detour and is now scheduled to land in Lisbon as we speak. Ed is preparing for a double announcement
