This, there are plenty of very good and likely available cms outside of the EPL who can come in and improve us if we be bothered to think outside the box. Three seasons ago MF was still in Portugal, around four season ago Beleba was still in France. EPL proven is an astute but a little lazy was to scout and sign players as there are plenty outside the league who have the qualities to make it here and save you 20 mil + on the transfer fee.We are signing midfielders. Probably really good ones. Relax.
Mateus Fernandes was one of them. From Mark Critchley at The Athletic:I would imagine there’s a good chance the players we are targeting have been discussed with Bruno anyway. Hell know what he’s signed up for.
Paul Hirst also said that Wilcox asked Bruno to speak to M.Fernandes. There was ongoing dialogue between them, but M.Fernandes told Bruno on Monday that he'd chosen Spurs after speaking to De Zerbi directly. At Manchester United, director of football Jason Wilcox and director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves led the talks. Additional support, on the player’s side, came from their club captain.
Bruno Fernandes helped with attempts to persuade the 21-year-old that Old Trafford should be his next destination.
Despite that connection, Tottenham became increasingly confident of signing Mateus Fernandes after a meeting with West Ham officials last Saturday. According to one source, Fernandes was convinced by Tottenham’s offer, believing he would play a significant role under De Zerbi, whose playing style could maximise his potential.
Who?
Christ.He is talking about Rashford…
He is talking about Rashford…
Why? There’s literally history of players getting disgruntled if they feel that the club isn’t matching their ambitionsFecking hell, this place is losing it's marbles....
I reckon we should shut the Caf down for a few weeks as I think most in here have had too much internet....
What mistake are you speaking off?The spelling error in the headline is troubling me.
What mistake are you speaking off?
As a dyslexic it's an easy mistake to make.
Oh. It should be 'of' rather than 'off' as well. The “is” was an “js”.

We may not be quite there yet but we’re in choppy waters
After today I hope that he sees who is coming in and is excited for the futureIn choppy waters? Really?! Even in our peak era the transfer window sagas more often ended in failure than success. Ronaldinho. Sneijder. Hazard etc etc Waaaaaay too early to call our dealings this summer some kind of crisis.
I actually assumed this thread had been bumped because someone pointed out how nice it will be for Bruno to have two more Portuguese speaking players in the squad!
You are so dramatic. We are in a canal. Why? There’s literally history of players getting disgruntled if they feel that the club isn’t matching their ambitions

You must have missed the news about our pursuit of Karl Darlow.I'm actually stunned that he's sticking it out when he could go to any club right now and win a trophy. Nothing about our early business suggests that we have the appetite for a title challenge.

On the face of it looks strange but I think there are multiple factors that keep him here. He is the face of the club, captain, and is recognised as one of the best players in the league. More importantly, I don’t think there are many top teams where he can go and become the main man. This is not too say that he won’t find a place in their starting lineup, but not many will build their team around him. Real Madrid already have Bellingham, Barca have Fermin and Dani Olmo. While Bruno can replace either very easily, he doesn’t fit their profile from an age perspective. Bayern already have Musiala who fits better in a team with Kane as their talisman than Bruno would. PSG dont play with a 10 and the Italian league is very poor. I dont think Bruno will ever to go to another PL club so there are limited choices for him. He could go to a Madrid or a Barca or a Bayern and play a different role, however, he wont be as effective as he is here.I'm actually stunned that he's sticking it out when he could go to any club right now and win a trophy. Well I’m more than happy to be wrongThis aged well.....
Well we finished 3rd with an average team last season. The fact pep’s gone opens it up for everyone. Arsenal will fancy retaining it. Spurs will be pushing out to jump straight back into the top 4 positions. I’m hoping we some how pull out a marquee signing from somewhere. Nothing would surprise me at this stageI'm actually stunned that he's sticking it out when he could go to any club right now and win a trophy. People should have a bit more faith in the club really before getting emotional.Well I’m more than happy to be wrong
He’s seen a lot of shit in his time here, I doubt he is too concerned with this window as plenty of time left.
Irrespective of how this window is going if he had a genuine offer from Madrid, PSG or Bayern I think he’d be on his way but that doesn’t seem to be the case so he’s probably content at Utd.
I would be surprised to be honest. There's only really PSG who would be willing to match his wages at 31, and he doesn't really fit their style at allI still think one of two will come in for him. It’s an absolute steal if they can get him at his release clause. I’d honestly be astounded if nobody even tries.

I just don't think any of those teams will be interested in him, as things stand. He’s got years left in him in Ligue Un, Serie A or La Liga. I doubt any Serie A team can tempt him, but Bayern, PSG, Real or Barca would. I think he’d be an outstanding signing for Bayern, Real or Barca. Jose would love him I’m sure.
Let’s not forget that Real have signed Bernardo, who looked to have less in the tank than Bruno these days. They also wanted Rodri. Bruno was the best player in the PL and I could only imagine his numbers if he was feeding any of their attackers.
I think he either stay or leave
