I think this guarantees a two horse race for the title next season with Arsenal and City. Hopefully they don't also get a good attacker too.

I am a bit of a fan of Gabriel Jesus when he's actually fit...but if he could stay fit you probably wouldn't be selling him.
I believe the only laughing stock in the EPL are us who stay quiet towards an ownership who had saddled the club with 1.3b debt and had allowed the stadium to rot.

Not to derail the thread too much but plenty of our fans kick up a fuss about the Glazers. In fact too many of our fans are negative.
Arsenal have been seen as a laughing stock since the days of Henry etc winning titles for them under Wenger. Last season they finally broke that and somehow were still being ridiculed by most fans for the way they did it. Ambitious? Who are these massive stars they’ve signed? Outside of Rice, who they broke the bank for to make it happen, feel free to name me these hugely ambitious signings. If we signed most of the players they have over the years we would be ridiculed. If we signed Bruno G for close to 80 million turning 29 years old we would be ridiculed saying we’ve paid over the odds, even by our own negative fans.

They have the Emirates stadium while we've got a stadium whose roof is leaking. They're going for top talent while we're signing a squad player from Chelsea

Zubimendi by your theory would have been the 6 last season, but he got forward plenty times, indeed ending up scoring 5 goals which is the most he's scored in a season, and 1 more than Rice.
And this was a season where his performances tailed off as the season wore on.

Arsenal are a smaller club then us. They never won the CL and even in their glory days under Wenger they won simply because we refused to strengthen a position out of complacency. Fast forward to present time and they had just won the league, they ended CL finalists, they have a beautiful stadium and they spend millions on whoever they want. Believe me, 1.3b in debt, 852m in interest repayments and 166m in dividends is a big thing. Our stadium is rotting, our ownership were forced to sell a stake to some skint person who ran OGC Nice and Lausanne to the ground so he can play real FM with us as well and everyone is busy in finding ways how to sack people and fleece the fanbase up. So no we're not being too negative. Actually I believe we're being too nice.

£75m is a decent price given Newcastle shouldn't NEED to sell from a financial perspective and he's their captain. If he were 25 like Tonali he'd be a £115m player in this market for sure given his quality.
Anderson, Mateus and now Bruno all moved in the same window, and the club with most need in midfield could not sign one of them. It is an obvious indicator that our board and management team are behind other clubs.

Meanwhile we were busy paying the Glazer's debt, its interests and the dividends. Then they hired an ex player as manager (which is controversial) and they properly supported him. Arteta had spent 934m in signings. As for money, you’re implying that Arsenal’s 2026 revenue only exceeded United’s because United had a down year. Arsenal’s revenue exceeded all English clubs. In history.
I will say, I think Arsenal are very close to Liverpool in size culturally.
They can be as big as they want - facts remain, we are the biggest club in England like Real Madrid and Juventus are the biggest clubs in their countries regardless of how big the other clubs are.
