A lot of slating from various posters but this fecker is relentless. It's one thing missing a couple big chances and then hiding, but he's still going at players, getting in positions, shooting first time and tries to be a menace for defenders.

He's going to be absolutely fine, he missed two or three big chances yesterday and still went at it. That's the character we need in our shirt.
Yep unlike Amad he didnt shy away even after fecking up

To get the chances from the Cunha through ball, the Amad cut back and the Bruno pass and not hit the target on any of them is pretty damn poor though. It was a bad showing.
For end product yes. In the totality of his game of course not.

He's always moving off the ball, always offering, consistently being direct. The end product is just a phase, we know what he's capable of in the Premier League. He's had bad end product for the second half of the season and still ends with 10 goals, it's really not a concern.

Just had a look at his stats in previous seasons, why was last year such a outlier in terms of return from him? He looks to be a 10 goal a season player prior to last year, was he on pens or did just have the magic touch in front of goal? Needs to start creating too, can't just rely on Bruno.

5 of his 23 were pens I think. He had a very efficient start to the season and has gone off the boil since AFCON. A summer reset will do him a world of good. Tbh maybe even just scoring that goal yesterday and getting the monkey off his back might have done it.

This season he should really have another 5+ goals in the league, his finishing has been really erratic. Any forward line where you have everyone getting into the double digits for goals is going to be right up around the CL places in my opinion - We have Sesko, Cunha, Mbuemo all on 10+ and Bruno will finish close. I think Mbuemo is a 10-15 goal a season type wide forward and offers a lot off the ball. His touch and finishing have been iffy, but I think a really solid debut season.

He finished his goal well and fought well the whole time he was on.

I feel bad showing is a little bit of a stretch….

Hey look, I'm not writing him off at all. I think he's been good for us this year and am happy with his first season overall. And it's promising that he keeps getting in those positions. But if you miss the three chances he was given yesterday it's a bad showing, even though he ultimately scored. I'd expect he probably feels disappointed overall too.

Bad showing re finishing. He still managed to get in the scoresheet with a well finished goal.

His all round game was pretty good - I personally felt the one where he hit the post was unlucky and the keeper did well, he’d have been better going first time bottom right in my view.

I’d be more worried if he wasn’t getting in positions to miss those chances in the first place.

Bad form? Yes. Bad player? Absolutely not. I think he’ll be a 15 goals a season player for us for the next few years, which is a very good return.

Loved his performance yesterday, but I am clearly a lot higher on the player than most. He would be a nightmare to play against.

Tbf if you play badly and still get in several great scoring positions AND score a decent goal then that probably suggests you're either a very good player or you didn't play as badly as all that. Perhaps a bit of both.

Form is temporary, class is permanent

Hey here’s thought. Perhaps he needs a rest post AFCON?

Amad has suffered too as has Ndiaye at Everton. Could be coincidence.

At least Cameroon didn't qualify for the World Cup. He'll have a good summer to rest and hopefully be super sharp at the beginning of next season.

Mbuemo is so underrated on here
Very good player that doesn’t hide or stop working hard.
I would be more worried if he wasn’t t getting chances, his movement and all round play is very good in my opinion.

Yesterday was one of the best games he has had in a while - constantly threating and getting into great positioning - his finishing was awful though. But if you keep getting chances, eventually you will score as yesterday. Lets hope he gets back to the clinical version we saw last fall next season!

Brighton 0:3 Man Utd New
Mbeumo needs someone to be bitterly honest with him. When carrick prefers one of the worse strikers I've ever seen (Zirkzee) to him, you know its bad. The writing is on the wall. Mbeumo hasnt played 90 mns in months. Truth is, at best, he'll be a squad player under Carrick and thats even assuming United doesnt buy a competent striker this summer. With a competent striker, he may not even see much football because Amad has locked down the right wing position. If Mbeumo is fine with that, then he can remain at United. If not, he should force an exit this summer for a top 10 team. The likes of Sunderland Brighton Brentford to name but a few would welcome him and pay 40M. Nothing wrong with that. That's his level!

No one in his entourage will be honest with him though

Finishes the season as joint top scorer I think? I think I predicted that, but I thought it would be more than 12 if I’m honest.

All in all a good signing so far. With the extra games next year I wouldn’t bet against him getting 20 goals.

Another goal but don't see this high technical level that he supposedly has. So many loose touches and sloppy passes in a game that was pretty much the perfect environment to get a few goals. Finishes the season on respectable G/A but his all around game needs some work.

This is an odd comment. Mbeumo started this match (and the vast majority of matches Sesko has been injured) ahead of Zirkzee up front. K see no evidence that Carrick prefers Zirkzee of the two.

Is this a WUM? How has Carrick preferred Zirkzee to Mbeumo?

It seems that throughout his tenure Mbeumo has started majority of the games as a CF and Zirkzee has only come on for 5 - 10 min cameos at most. I wouldn't say Amad has the RW position locked down, seems all for grabs to me. Mbeumo has been a pretty good signing for me

Are you not bored of trolling yet?

Its good that he came through his barren spell and got a few goals at the end of the season. Joint top scorer in the league with Sesko although he played a lot more. I think he's very upgradable but a useful enough squad player

How many pints have you had?

I disagree with everything here. Amad has it locked down? The writing is on the wall for a fantastic player who has had a solid first season?

Jesus.

Some of you are going to look very silly next year with some of the takes in here.

He’s quality.

Congrats on a solid debut season, Bryan. Thanks for improving us!

How is that trolling? I am a fan of the player and want his best. I was one of the first during the amorim honeymoon period when everyone thought he was the second coming of Salah to note that he is a very limited player for a title winning team outside of his goals. He is a winger that is not good enough to start in that position at United therefore the team is trying to get the best out of him as striker but even that wont last long once united buys a decent striker.

I mean that Carrick prefers a fresh Zirkzee to a 70th minute Mbeumo which baffles me but also tells me that Carrick doesnt really rate Mbeumo.

Just be happy for once. We got the right players in for the first time since SAF. He along with sesko Cunha and dorgu will all be useful players and all good enough for a title winning team

Inconsistent moments in the season, not all season. Im so glad we got him, people on here are deluded. This guy is a tank, works hard, chases hard, maybe he could work on being more fit but he is the perfect united player. 11 goals in the league, brilliant, some important ones too. Dropped off last few months, but people forget, he and Amad, had Afcon. Sometimes players come back off form, this happened to us. Buzzing to have him in our squad next season, this season was a great first season for him.

so he end up on 11+3? that's not too bad and too far away from his Brentford season penalties aside. Hopefull y he can buld a confidence for the next season and starts scoring for fun

Generally keeping in theme with his past several months of form. Bad general play but came away with a goal/something decisive.

I think the lack of games this season and potential knock on effect for psychology may have played a part of his dipped form. Forwards typically want the next game as soon as possible after having a stinker, and with him, we were basically one game a week almost all season, so he has that wait until next week to try again while it sits in his mind. We played the dreaded 40 game season this season

Agree. I think he’s one of those players that will also have drops in form but even when he does he’s still a goal threat. I can see him getting around 20 goals next season in all comps.

Better as a striker for me. Him and Sesko should battle it out and we should bring in another winger.
I think he was better under Amorim as a winger but maybe not so much under Carrick, so its definitely something to think about

Was definitely our most profligate finisher this year. Encouraging how often he found himself in the right positions though. Hopefully he can slim down a tad, regain some of his pace from Brentford, and put up 15+ league goals next season. Easily has that ability even if he's not an elite winger.

Good first season with room to improve for next.

He doesn't look as light as he did for brentford though. It kinda reminds me of Lukaku who looked a bit bigger for us.

Some big goals for us. Some big belly too.

How do you show up to old Trafford out of shape?

The goals masked a bad season or a regular season from him which is concerning.

He doesn't dribble, his passing is average and his touch is garbage for a forward.

Yes he can latch onto something and run and shoot. So could rashford. So can a bunch of forwards. He also played with a bit of an attitude like he wasn't being deployed properly. feck off bud.

He better improve. A good 10 games doesnt cut it for me. Same for Amad who I actually rate higher than this guy.

At least Cunha has a base level and technique good enough for a top PL club. He can also beat a man.

To me, if you don't dribble as a forward you better score or create 1 in 2. He doesnt .

Winger bags 12 goals including Anfield, Emirates, City and 3 v our blue and white answer to Real Madrid, otherwise known as Brighton.

You are way too down on him.
