Probably be the end of week we get a deal sortedThat’s all well and good, but is it a big day tomorrow? Can we say ‘today’s the day’ tomorrow?

Ornithological? Because nothing causes impotence more than a long drawn out transfer sagaThe thread title is making me all Orny.
Yes agreeThe press will do their usual and label it the absolute maximum value with all addins.
While then quoting the minimum fee for City and Pool for some of theirs.
I think it will be 60 mill and maybe 3-5 mill in add ons. Only my thoughts I haven’t seen anythingPre addons or all in?
As well as 50 I reckon the 70 mill was bullshit mediaYup - that's a whole 10 mill less than 70 though so good result if that happens.
I reckon He will get around the same as cunha about 200k. A ridiculous increase, but can’t see one getting 200k and the other 120/30k for exampleThink it’s like 45-50k
Christ, is that what we've given him? How much was he on before?I reckon He will get around the same as cunha about 200k. A ridiculous increase, but can’t see one getting 200k and the other 120/30k for example
Don't think Cunha is on 200k, not without the UCL bonus anywayI reckon He will get around the same as cunha about 200k. A ridiculous increase, but can’t see one getting 200k and the other 120/30k for example
Come on. We have been doing that - Amad, Garnacho, Rasmus, Zirkzee, Dorgu, Yoro, Heaven, Obi are examples of up-and-comers or cheaper purchases from other leagues. We'll keep doing that I'm sure, however, we need proven quality up front now. The dearth of proven quality in our frontline hurt us throughout last season and I think the club has rightly made a definite step change to move away from that model when it comes to our attack next season to mitigate the risk of enduring a low quality frontline for another season (which is a massive difference maker at this level).I like him but I’m afraid we’ll end up paying way more than we should. I firmly believe there are equally as talented (and younger) options out there at half the price. I get that he’s proven in the PL but that strategy hasn’t exactly worked for us in the past decade. I’m not sure why we even have a scouting department if we don’t want to sign upcoming top players from other leagues but rather wait until they’re established here and twice as expensive.

I don’t know but that 200k was reported when he signed as it’s media it could be bs but this much wouldn’t surprise meChrist, is that what we've given him? How much was he on before?
NoThat’s all well and good, but is it a big day tomorrow? Can we say ‘todays the day’ tomorrow?
Guess it depends on your time zone...Tonight.
Hopefully that's the level if we win the champions league because otherwise it doesn't seem like we've learnt much at all.I don’t know but that 200k was reported when he signed as it’s media it could be bs but this much wouldn’t surprise me
Mate I think you should read the decade bit if you are picking holes in the post. What hasn’t exactly worked?
Cantona, Tevez, Ferdinand, Sheringham, Cole, Berbatov, Yorke, Van Persie, Carrick, Van Der Sar all came from the PL.
I think he might be for the first year. Typically the UCL clause is only for years 2-5 of a deal. Probably he starts on 200k, but in order to keep it we need to qualify for UCL.Don't think Cunha is on 200k, not without the UCL bonus anyway
Both terrible sources. Especially Duncan Castles. His tweet anyway was we went to 60 and they want 70 and if Spurs came in at that Mbeumo would go to Spurs.Hope it's true. Would be a very good signing
200k sounds a bit much.I think he might be for the first year. Typically the UCL clause is only for years 2-5 of a deal. Probably he starts on 200k, but in order to keep it we need to qualify for UCL.
To me, both the Mbuemo and Cunha deals seem like overpays. Both good players, but this isn't uncovering some gem or hidden upside. They both had excellent peak seasons, but we're paying every penny for it. Not sure it's what's necessary to reboot the club, though it's at least better than throwing money at the likes of Casemiro, Antony, and Sancho.

200k or even a bit more is about right for cunha and Mbeumo for me.200k sounds a bit much.

What do we do then? We have tried buying dear players outside the PL, cheap players and nothing has worked. They are two proven players in the PL with very good stats playing for ‘lesser’ teams. The 60 mill mark is about right in these inflated timesI think he might be for the first year. Typically the UCL clause is only for years 2-5 of a deal. Probably he starts on 200k, but in order to keep it we need to qualify for UCL.

Yes but there are also player who are good on far less, amad for example. Overpaid players are not rare, and I do like Cunha, but 150-200 is about right.200k or even a bit more is about right for cunha and Mbeumo for me.
Among the best output in the PL right in their prime in their peak contract earning stage. We live in a world where Havertz is sitting on 280k and Chiesa sits on 120k. Lewis Skellys new deal if I'm not mistaken is 210k.
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every so often !!We've tried all sorts.
Huge names from abroad past their peak (Cavani, Ronaldo, Ibra, Schweiny)
Huge names from abroad who should be at their peak (Pogba, Di Maria, Lukaku)
Young talent from abroad with a high potential ceiling (Martial, Dorgu)
Good performing players from our own league (Schenidelin, Maguire, Wan B, Sanchez)
Young talent from our own league (Shaw)
And countless other categories.
We've got it wrong so often, it surely has to go right at some stage!
Amad isnt 25/26 and entering his peak contract. Nor has he been among the top performers in the PL for at least 2 seasons. It's two completely different situations. Same reason is why Saka is on less than Rashford or Havertz. Cometh the time in his absolute prime and final big contract, he'll get bigger bucks.Yes but there are also player who are good on far less, amad for example. Overpaid players are not rare, and I do like Cunha, but 150-200 is about right.
So where do you post tweets then?People, stop posting garbage sources. There are new transfer guidelines that need to be followed by all of us. Misinformation leads to pages and pages of reactionary posts, which is precisely why the new guidelines are up in the first place as we intend to try and eradicate that.

You sure we’ve given him 200k? INEOS are all about cutting wages down. He’ll obviously be on a lot more than he was at wolves but I’d imagine it’s more reasonableI reckon He will get around the same as cunha about 200k. A ridiculous increase, but can’t see one getting 200k and the other 120/30k for example
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/transfer-tweets-guidelines-please-read.488417/So where do you post tweets then?
Yes I reposted the tweets in the twitter thread and they’ve been deleted.https://www.redcafe.net/threads/transfer-tweets-guidelines-please-read.488417/
It's what is posted in player specific threads - terrible sources lead to misinformation a lot of the time, and that's to be put a stop to.
But is a big day coming tomorrow? Can we say "can we say 'today's the day' tomorrow?" tomorrow?
That was like 10 years ago.Mane cost Liverpool £34m. If Mbeumo was on the market for c. £45m, there would likely be fewer reservations about the transfer. Once fees of £70m+ start getting bandied about in the press, the concern that United are significantly overpaying (if a deal is done at that level) is inevitably going to be raised. Mbeumo is a decent player who improves the side, so not a player to 'look down on' - he's better than Garnacho, for example - but he's not an elite player/talent and should not be priced like one.
