The majority has this right will definitely improve your forward positions better than anything currently at old Trafford if that ilk (including Cunha). He is an excellent player who has improved year on year down to some excellent coaching and the space and freedom to make mistakes and learn from them.

If he has the mental strength to survive the current circus going on (which nothing leads me to think he won’t be able to) he will be a quality signing.

Anyway he has been dead to me since he missed his penalty vs the river rats the other week so all I care about is getting as much money as we can now :)
 
Mbeumo (right sided 10) and Amad (RWB) link ups on the right side of our attack would be immense. Think they would compliment each other quite well.

The one issue with this is that it doesn't obviously offer much width on that side, seeing as they'll both want to cut inside.

Eh? That's just nonsense. United still have a huge pull in the football world, players dream of playing for Manchester United. Mbuemo has been quoted as saying Champions League isn't a priority or deal breaker for him. He was also a United fan as a kid. To add to that he's almost guaranteed a starting place and huge amounts of game time at United where he would be up against Saka for a starting place at Arsenal.

Arsenal don't really need a player like him anyway, they just need to get a striker.

Mbuemo, if he signs, knows he will have a chance to be part of a rebuild and could help take the club back to where it belongs. With a new stadium planned, it's not all doom and gloom at United it's just many can't see any positives. Luckily, it seems like Cunha and (hopefully) Mbuemo both can.
 
Amazing news. Add a good striker and a goalkeeper to the incomings and I'll be over the moon with our business for the first time in I don't know how long. Sneak a mobile well rounded centre mid in there and I'll rename my first born Sir Jim regardless of gender. They're twins too so it's a BOGOF deal that one.
 
Would be a game-changing signing, he's a great player. Get it done!

Whats he like as a person (that you know of)? Do you think he can repeat 20 goals?

Haha fair play. For what its worth I hope you get to keep Frank this season, or if he leaves he goes somewhere better than Spurs

Thats what I like about him and Cunha. Both players seem to get better each year in the PL and are both entering their prime. Our attack looks a lot better with these two signing.
 
I do share @Skills and @Bebe 's apprehension about this signing, though.

Like with Cunha, they both seem to come alive when there's space to counter attack. Neither seem that strong under pressure or have that ability where the ball is glued to them in tight spaces so they're near impossible to dispossess. We are crying out for players of this ilk who can unlock parked buses rather than fast, counter attackers.

Though Mbeumo seems closer to that type of player than Cunha does, to be fair.

Fair comments. I really like what I've seen of Mbeumo, my only possible issue is that I'm not sure how he'd adapt to a different style of play. All your forwards tend to have very low pass completion rates etc because you go so direct.

How do you reckon he adapts to a side that wants to keep the ball a bit more and comes up against deep, packed defences?
 
Can he play as a forward? Having Amad play as a wingback just seems like a real waste of the talent
 
United have been starved of goals for 2 seasons and are (most likely) going to lose Sancho, Rashford, Antony and Garnacho.

So I can see the logic of adding a second wide forward this summer.

Personally I’d prefer a CF next, but deals don’t need to be done in any particular order, we just have to wait for the window to close before making any judgements.
 
I'm not really that excited for this one to be honest. Wish I could put my finger on it, I just prefer Cunha, but that might be down to me watching quite a lot of Wolves games over the last couple of years.

Great news this.

We got hit with a double whammy of Delap rejecting us and news that Newcastle were after Mbuemo and I started to feel a bit pessimistic about the summer.

Now it's looking like an amazing start to the window.

His heading ability is terrible. It's one aspect of his game which he needs to improve for a guy of his size and power.

In attacking phases Amorims wingbacks are forward.

You'll have both Mbeumo and Amad attacking the right side.
 
Also, fair play to @croadyman who has spent the last month or so attempting to somehow wish this transfer into existence across multiple threads. It might just have worked. :lol:

Having those two and Amad in the same line up running at you is going to give defenses nightmares. If we add a top striker the fear factor will hopefully be back.

True, he's also been wishing Gykoroes and Osimhen transfers into existence so we might get one of those. If that happens then we need to get him onto Baleba from Brighton.
