Bryan Mbeumo | Orny: United still interested and trying to work out a deal

Oh that’s good!
Basically said he doesn’t necessarily believe the wages story, and that United have always bought players from teams lower down the league (the host was trying to suggest that the recent signings show that United hasn’t got any pull any more).

Was nice to hear Mitten go on talk sport today and put that Chelsea influencer moron in his place.
I can't stand that Chelsea guy. He spouts utter tripe, every time I listen to him.

Absolute bollocks what he said, we used to sign players from in the prem and did well, and abroad.

To suggest its a flawed model is absolute tripe

United had loads of success from signing player of this profile since forever. It’s surely just clickbait nonsense, and I suppose it works.

Rory Jennings is a muppet.

He has been banging on that United have lowered their standards by buying from Wolves and potentially now Brentford.

He was fine with Chelsea buying from relegated Ipswitch though and im sure fine with them buying Neto from Wolves.

He said that Delap was an incredible singing in the same segment, yeah.

Crazy.

He was actually good back in the day on the Kick Off and to be fair he is still better than most on TalkSport who talk absolute nonsense. Infact, im about to post a cracking example of that in the Gyokeres thread.

Ah ok, i thought that the PSR year rolls over July 1 ?

Isnt the window closing for the Club World Cup?
Yeah I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of PSR but there was a report that showed United is the 5th healthiest and it's no issue. But the issue is likely cash.

And yeah club world cup means two windows, and there was some rush for players to move to make it, like Cherki and Ait Nouri etc.

Surely it doesn't matter that the window is closed. You can still agree and sign a player. Just can officially register them

You're right, just looked it up.

Why only a week when the tournament lasts a month?
Because the window wasn't meant to start traditionally until later. They made and early mini window in front of it so clubs can take early transfers ahead of the club world cup registration period (which is where it's closed for a week)

Ah, so the teams in the CWC could load up early.

And maybe even for a Saudi side to sign Ronaldo for it! Even though that didnt quite work.

Rory seldomly comes out with good stuff, only when he slags off Arsenal. But hes a million miles off the mark here. Buying players from big teams is more of a rarity for us. We would have 1 player bought from a big team per cycle generally, the rest from smaller clubs or youth players.

It doesnt really. I think i started this with conflating the window closing for a week with PSR, which starts a new year on July 1. The window and PSR are unrelated.

I dont have the source, but im sure that someone was saying that United had room for Cunha + one before the near July 1 PSR year and others would need to be included in next years tally.

We did sign De Ligt, Ugarte, Mazraoui, Mount and Onana from "big clubs" over the last two summer windows.

The issue is, they were the players that the big clubs were happy to shift.

A much better strategy is what we are doing now in buying players have have seemingly outgrown their current clubs and ready for the next step. Cunha, Mbeumo and maybe Gyokeres fit that bill.

It's possible that this has all been agreed and the delay is due to hanging it out until the next accounting year for Brentford's sake (or ours).

Sorry I meant when we were a winning team!

But yeah we have bought more Madrid players since Fergie left than we ever did when he was here.

Can you both cut it out now? Your exchange looks to have reached an impasse and things will only go downhill from here (for you), which is a needless points accrual or thread ban.
Point taken, Sir! Put him on ignore.

If you take off his beard and put it on his head suddenly he looks a little bit like Depay and it scares me. Because he was shite.

He scored a lot of international goals and a lot of goals in other leagues in Europe.
We still target these type of players.
