I guess Lindelöf will struggle less than Bailly with the airial bombardment, but why not play McTominay and Maguire at CB? McTominay is better in the air than both Lindelöf and Bailly.

Pogba, Lindelof and Shaw likely to miss this then? Reasonable chance Bailly could too, even though it's confirmed as just a knock. Wouldn't mind a back four of Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire, and Telles for this game but I'd hope Shaw and at least one of Bailly/Lindelof were available for Liverpool. I think we could deal more with Pogba missing than those players to be honest.

Definitely expect all of De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Fred, Bruno, Rashford and Martial to start this one, probably Cavani too. I was surprised Matic didn't play against Watford until I realized Deeney was out. Perhaps he was saved a bit to start here instead to help against Burnley's long balls, so McTominay can be rested and play against Liverpool.

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Tuanzebe Maguire Telles
    Fred Matic
    Rashford Bruno Martial
    Cavani

I'm sure it'll be back to the slothery pairing at CB which will see us playing 10+ yards deeper and that's not ideal as Burnley will be sitting deep themselves. I think Matic might start and I reckon Ole will keep Cavani to bring on, so Pogba will start on the left.

This I think. Who didn't start against Watford will start.

    Must win game.
Believe me I know we can't win the title with this squad but the longer we stay in it the better.
    2~1 United.
Yeah, ageed. The target should be to stay in it as long as possible. The team is 2 or 3 players away from being able to seriously challenge, so just enjoy the ride for now!

Feck, I thought we were at home for some reason.

If Lindelof and Maguire play it is dropped points, simple as that.
I would like to see more of the Bailly/Maguire partnership as well, but still, we are top of the league, and Lindelöf/Maguire have been playing most of the games. Simple as that.

Considering Burnley played 120 minutes yesterday with a team that is close to their strongest - we really should control this game.

Rodriguez, Long, Taylor and McNeil are all likely to miss this game - and possibly even Pope.
Pin them back - and avoid them getting to crosses and getting corners - and this is very doable

There was some news earlier that Pogba,Shaw and Lindelhof are all injured so don't expect them to start.

I never want to see Lindelhof and Maguire at CB against the likes of Wood,Barnes,Mee etc.
Hope Bailly is fit. He's strong enough to deal with their physical game
That's 3 pretty significant injuries to have all at once, Shaw is the biggest miss of the 3 imo, we can work around no Pogba and are better without Lindelof partnering Maguire.

(Note: If Bailly and Lindelof are out, we are a Maguire injury away from a full blown defensive crisis plus we know Tuanzebe is made of glass).
Maguire is also one yellow away from suspension.
It wouldn’t be strange if he got that yellow pvs Burnley.
It would not be strange if Bailly is recovering for a full week.
It would not be strange if Lindelof can’t play because of back problems.

That could leave us with Tuanzebe +1 for Liverpool.

Bailly claimed it was just a knock .- he should be back for Liverpool at least

Tough match but the incentive to go top is there if we play well. Maguire must NOT get a booking though otherwise he misses Liverpool, sods law he does though! going for 2 - 0 win to United
He gets a yellow, at Liverpool we use Bailly and Tuanzebe, we win with a clean sheet and a great defensive performance. Ole will pretend Alzheimer's and pick Maguire and Lindelof next game.

Genuine question how are they hard games? Only Liverpool should worry us and even then I think we can get something. We have to be looking at 10-12 points from these games.
Easy on Paper but I guess we will all be nervous before all this games
I also don’t understand why we people think we can’t win the premiership this season with this squad
This is a strange season and as long as our key players stay fit and Covid free we have as good a chance as anybody else
We are in a good position to challenge
    I believe.....

Most likely, but if there is the slightest risk it could be longer. I just read that standard procedure for a head injury should be minimum 6-10 days before the player is allowed to train with tackles and headings. But if it is confirmed that he hasn’t injured the head it can of course be faster.

We do not need Bailly against Burnley but we definately need him against Pool's pacy strikers.

Bag of nerves for this one! We need to get back into gear after city, worried this will be one of those games where we have to make a come back.

Telles for Shaw no real drop in quality there.

DVB for Pogba - many have wanted to see this for a while.

Bailly for Lindelof if the former is fit.

Three natural replacements. It could have been worse.
Telles for Shaw we lost in defensive shape.
VDB for Pogba, it depends of the formation. As a 8, Donny is too forward, I think. But on the left, maybe it might work out.
Bailly for Lindelof is alright as long as Maguire is also there.

The main issue of those injuries is not the injuries themselves, but rather just like against Leipzig, it gives Liverpool exactly the line up we will have. However good our plan can be, we don't have a secret way to surprise them due to the line up being almost forced on us. That's really the downside.

Feck this place is dire. We are going to steamroll this, going for a Cavani hattrick and a Bruno pen. 4-0 and Liverpool straight ahead.

    But it wasn't a head-injury, it was a neck-injury.

Oh don’t get me wrong I’m nervous before every game but we have to have confidence that these fixtures are relatively kind and easy otherwise there’s not that much hope. I think if we can get 10-12 points we will be in a pretty healthy position.

You can see us conceding in this but fairly sure we'll secure a few goals and win comfortably.

It'll be a huge boost and a much needed pickup after the City game.

The occasion is so much bigger than a typical United vs Burnley matchday.

It will be very interesting to see how the team is affected, if there last few semi-final performances are anything to go by then it will be a disappointing night.

But the opportunity to go top of the league at the half way mark is something very rare post SAF, I hope they grab it and we see a different side to the team.

Don't think VdB will play. He's just a bit wank

Just a bit? That's better than full wank I guess. He needs time to settle is all, I'm sure he'll come good eventually.

Fred was quite a lot wank when he first arrived, now he's a fully-fledged member of the first team.

This is a must win. Going with a 3 point lead before facing Liverpool will be a huge moral booster.

Ole probably does trust Fred more than VDB, and for good reason, but I was thinking Ole would want to save Fred for the Liverpool game which is only a few days after Burnley.
I think Fred will just have to play the two games. He got rested for the weekend so hopefully that’ll help a little.
