Sorry you're unwell. Didn't realise. If your mum is about get her to sort you some meat loaf.

Haha she does all the cooking in the house which is a bonus but I got on like that she'd throw me out my own house. I'm quiet as mouse these days, even have headphones plugged into the TV so I don't wake her. And yeah it happens, it's not knowing if I got something that's potentially very virulent which is making me anxious but suppose looking from a perspective if I do have then its surely got to be a very mild case as i can still spend most of my time in the general shit posting. Hope you're well yourself and haven't came across any dickheads who tried to spit or cough on you etc.

Try not to be too anxious. I bet it's actually helping having your mum around anyway and it's nice you can be there for each other rather than apart during this difficult time. You need to get yourself better for a nice Easter dinner and chocolate eggs this weekend!

And I'm fine thanks. Tired with the shifts but okay. No one has coughed on me but has happened to some. Anyone tries this with me though they are getting guillotined to sleep.

Right I feel rough right now and I've rang my out of hours GP again. They told me to go to the covid centre tomorrow. I'm just afraid that if I don't have covid and I'm feeling pretty poorly for some reason, I go to that centre catch then I'll I'll really be up the shit creek.

It's still early days but hot showers, super hot soaks (around 38*C), facial steaming and a big ass humidifier have all been Godsends for me so far. Please prioritise proper medical advice over dumb anecdotal shite like this though because every case is different and I'm by no means qualified to prescribe potential treatments. It's just something to consider if you're lucky enough to have immediate access to any of these things. Again this is more about personal comfort than treatment so please seek proper advice before listening to my dumb ass.

So my first day back at work I'm fit and healthy now, I did an hour and got sent home as I mentioned my dad was starting to show signs of illness I was looking after him last week.

Better to be safe than sorry though.

Good to hear mate. How are your energy levels? Mine are still down in the dumps. I've slept all day and evening here but I'm up now. My sleeping pattern is really up the fecking wall here. It's a bollocks in an of its self.
My energy levels seem fine now, or at least as good as they can be when I'm stuck at home all day. When I was at my worst though there were times where I would just crash on the sofa in the middle of the day. Pretty scary when I think about it - my Mrs was still out at work at that time and I was lying down and shutting my eyes because my breathing was so laboured!

Went out and did some boxing and bjj drills with my heavy bag in the garden yesterday, didn't take much time to put myself to the point where I felt ready to puke, although I recovered fairly quickly. Today I still feel 'something' in my chest, and a bit of a cough, so I'd guess that my lungs are a bit fecked up from the virus - I've read some stories about lung scarring etc so I'm planning on a bit of exercise each day to hopefully encourage some recovery.

I can't wait for the serology tests because I think that I had it two weeks ago. The issue is that the symptoms didn't match perfectly, I had a persistent headache, stomach pain, shallow breath, fatigue, chest pains, wheezing, runny nose and my legs were weak for maybe 3 or 4 days but no cough, I sometimes had the sensation that I was going to cough but it didn't went further than an uncomfortable sensation in the throat. The issue is that these symptoms partially match with rhinitis and hypothyroidism.
How did your symptoms last?

I had a similar experience - but without the headache & stomach pains. For about 3 weeks, I had a tight chest - I wrote it off on anxiety. Eventually, I also started wheezing at night. In the end I got really bad bilateral calf pain for a solid 2-3 days where I could barely walk. @Penna @Sanche7 thought it was because of some chest infection - but what are the odds, I got something other than this?

I love this advice: the key is to FIGHT. Don’t take the illness passively lying down.
Do everything you can to actively fight it: get up, stretch your torso, hold your breath for 10 seconds, breath deeply when it hurts, relentlessly push the fever down. Be desperate to beat this thing.
That’s the road to recovery.

I’m a little worried about my dad now he’s 55 and he’s completely out of it. He phoned 111 the other day and they told him the normal stuff to isolate and whatnot.

he just is completely drained to the point where he barely even speaks or moves he literally will get up go downstairs and sit on the settee with tv on and barely move.

Sounds like me all year round. :) Seriously though, if he is not experiencing breathing issues then let him get it out of his system. And you make 55 sound so old in your post. :(

Is he generally a healthy bugger, no underlying issues, etc? Lean or obese? Just concerned he's not caring about isolation in the house much unless you're all ok with it.

he’s carrying extra weight but I wouldn’t say it’s a drastically unhealthy amount, I have noticed he is breathing heavier than usual too. Honestly I’ve never seen him so ill and helpless, he’s like a zombie at this point .

I feel fine but today I had to go to a meeting for discussing a job opportunity. It's a company that works in the area of disinfection generally and they had procedures in place to enter the office building, washing your hands, using hand sanitizer and measuring the body temperature with a thermometer that could be used on the head.

The 3 readings were 37.3, 37.2 and 37.5 but I have 0 symptoms of anything and don't feel any sort of fatigue that is always present when I have some sort of higher than usual temperature. For what it's worth, I had to take a 20 minute walk to get a bus and then another 20 minute walk to get to the office building, I was generally feeling nervous prior to the meeting. I've also been stressed out a lot lately due to everything happening and sometimes I don't sleep well at all, last night I managed only about 5 hours.

I got worried and took my temperature 4 times at home, it was 36.6, 36.8, 36.8 and 37.1. Very weird to be honest and it was a bit embarrassing when this happened at a place I was hopeful I might get an opportunity to find some work in these tough times, obviously I wouldn't want to put anyone at risk if I have Covid-19.

Not sure if I should be worried and taking measures, but I'm also in the process of moving out due to financial reasons so it's a tough situation. Since the state of emergency was put in place on 13th of March, I've really only been out to the supermarket and once I had to see a mate who owed me some money, as it was urgent for me. I did read that big stress and anxiety can cause small spikes in body temperature so hopefully it's just that.

Yes, I have no other means of transportation. There's almost nobody on them at the moment though, people keep the required distance from each other. I also wear a mask and use gloves to protect myself and people around me.

People still have to go to work and the situation with the underground is much worse, because the mayor decided to reduce the number of public transports, making it impossible to keep proper social distancing.

Well done he’s 13
Anyone else live with someone who has had it but had no symptoms themselves whatsoever? My partner had it over 2 weeks ago and I’ve not had a single symptom

I thought if you have symptoms you are supposed to self-isolate.

Are you being a smart ass or what? It's as if I didn't write a long fecking comment to explain the situation.

Anyway, I talked to my GP and she said high levels of stress and anxiety issues could cause such small spikes and variations of body temperature so I just have to monitor myself for the time being. Hopefully I manage to keep myself healthy for as long as possible, because I honestly don't know where and how I would be able to self-isolate if that did happen.

We also don't plan on doing mass testing any time soon as the government and health system can't afford it, so nobody would really know if they have Covid-19 or something else. Crazy times. :(

Is that even that worrying? Most don't consider anything under 38 to be a problem, and you'd just walked 20 minutes for a job interview.

Yeah, the specialist at the office building was just a bit worried and asked me if I had any symptoms, since I was going to a meeting with the director, she even gave me a new one-time-usage-only mask, just in case. I was worried in a sense that it was an embarrassing moment, because I wouldn't want to endanger someone else if I had the virus.

Sorry for the snappy response, I'm just really on edge these days, I try not to worry and believe I will get over all this, but I'm just not sure about that at all. It's honestly really scary. I have a couple of friends that are helping me with stuff right now, but honestly I fear the situation is about to get worse for everyone, apart from very few people with loads of spare resources.

Thanks for your kind wishes though, hopefully you and your close people stay safe as well.

Interesting.. we live in different places and countries, yet the experiences shared are roughly similar.

Anyway..
Getting used to this illnesses (non-stop migranes, eyepains and mild cold + majority of the other C19 symptoms albeit mildly and rarely), been a running consecutively for a month (30 days) now with no signs of getting better. Good thing is.. now no signs it's getting worse :smirk: been there, no more. Have been self-isolating at home so far, not a huge problem, but even doing stress-free hobbies can be painful at times. Oh well, just gotta live with it right...

 Stay safe ya'all, and well.. who knows what may happen but just in case, redcafe is fun, thanks~

Yeah some people just get it for longer. My daughter is in pain, albeit less now thankfully, for the 26th day. Some signs of it getting better but no sign of it getting worse which I'll take now as I've had enough of worrying. The wife caught it off her and is almost recovered after seven days, hopefully no relapse God willing.

It’s a strange virus this one. My wife probably had it and felt really bad for about a week, less so the week after, and then a bit bad again. Now she’s fine. I had some irritating headache and felt some dizziness for some days. My body felt a bit beaten up, like after a really bad ass workout.

How are you feeling @Hernandez - BFA?
Yeah I've fully recovered. My first day back at work is tomorrow in fact. Back to the grind with a 12 hour shift - we go again.

All in all - I think I had a mild/mild-moderate episode. The coughing and headache were atrocious, and the constant feeling of completely wiped out was tedious. I'm fortunate I didn't get as sick as some people do though so I'm grateful.

Thanks for asking anywho.

Delighted for you mate. When you see this randomly affecting even the healthiest of individuals (seemingly) it is very scary.

I think is not good to say bad things about a person that is sick. So i hope he can get well soon, i'm pretty sure he has access to world class treatment. He is always fighting against universal health care though. I suspect he doesn"t care about poor people in worst conditions. His brother is always cutting the health care budget of New York and was trying to cut 1k hospital beds this year. Awful family.

Brill. Good news
