Camavinga vs Saul vs Neves - Which midfielder do you think is the best option?

Still over the moon we have Ronaldo back. But it is a massive mistake not signing a class central midfielder in the window. We are a top heavy side. Camavinga was ideal. Not so much Neves. How the hell can we be relying on Fred, McT and Matic. Seriously. We are soft in the middle.
Agreed, if Ole is smart he’ll lock down the midfield, Fred with Mctom, I’d even blood Hannibal alongside Fred in some games.
Front 4
Pogba left
Greenwood/sancho right
Bruno floating
Ronaldo up top

we won’t control games but with our defence and ball winners in the middle we’ll be very hard to break down and we’ll score, lots

rashford coming off the bench
Cavani off the bench
Martial hopefully finds form

so many goals

Ive watched Hannibal loads and he is so lightweight at the moment. Flatters to deceive. Not as free flowing as his locks

Saul's come out saying a big reason to move is because he was being played out of his preferred position at AM (ie DM instead of further up front), and Simeone didnt have plans to keep him up there.

That means he would have wanted Bruno's role and so best we didn't go in for him. Not sure how much better he will fare at Chelsea when they have players who like to play that role

I agree, Saul is not the type of player we need to fix our midfield.

I struggle to see the connection too
Think the gist of their point was Ronny could come in and express his joy in maybe post match interview at playing alongside Donny and it might just make Ole give him more of an opportunity to prove himself if that all makes any sense of course.

Camavinga lighting up Real Madrid
Yet we decide central midfield is not a priority. Yesterday's debacle shows how much we lack in central midfield. And we missed a trick in not going all in for him for just £26m - a quarter of the price expected for the massively overrated Declan Rice. The two players shouldnt be in the same paragraph.

Shame he wanted to sign for Real Madrid and they wanted to sign him then.

I like that you pretend to know the ins and outs when most reports indicate that he wanted Spain.

What a load of waffle. He didn't want to join us, imagine getting angry at the club over something totally out of our control.
Plus he didn’t want to play for Rennes. Unprofessional performances by the end for them. Says a lot about attitude when a player starts to throw his dummy out

Is Bissouma the favourite now ? Or Rice ? Or Tchouameni
Tchouameni is the best fit for what we need imo. Not a sudden favourite just watched him a fair bit and he’s mobile, tenacious and looks very likely to become one of the best in his position.

Any of Bissouma, Tchouameni, Palhinha or Rice will do to replace the aging Matic. Rice will have an insane English tax that we should only pay if we can’t get any of the others in my opinion.

If Pogba leaves next summer and VDB doesn’t have a breakthrough season as a CM in the base of the midfield (which means he will need to be sold too) then we’ll need a playmaking CM too. It could be Neves. Or we could buy a stop gap (perhaps Kroos) for 2-3 years until Bellingham is more ready.

No denying a couple of nice contributions in his limited minutes, but “lighting up the place” when he’s played 34 minutes is taking caf hyperbole to a whole new level.
A goal and an assist in 34 minutes means 3 goals and 3 assists every 90 pretty much. We're gonna score 6 goals in every game from now on!

Someone to keep the feckin ball.

I know we aren't a possession team, but at some point youbneed ball retention to see out a game, or at least regain control on an off day.

I don't even care about a passing maestro anymore. Just some discipline positionally and someone who can keep the ball
