That pass! Lovely.

He is preposterously good. Imagine if he was in that centurion City team instead of us right now - he’d probably be on twice the assists.Imagine where he'd be if the first half of the season wasn't spent as a CM in a dysfunctional side.

Genius from Amorim. He has truly laid the foundation for this current success.I'd argue that the year of playing in midfield has made him a better player.
He's now more patient and varied in his play, doesn't go for the first time killer pass every time, and is much better at turning away from pressure with the ball than he was.
I've posted this a couple of times:Mathematically hes on course to break it.
(Anyone can feel free to correct this if I'm wrong)
It took him until our 8th game (Liverpool) to get his first assist. Including that game, he's done 12 in his last 14.
He's not slowing down under Carrick either. 12 chanced created in the last 3 games.
If he keeps that form up he could well break it but we've seen with the likes of Ozil, Fabregas and De Bryune that you can look on course to doing so and falling short.
It would be an incredible achievement. As @ManhattanRed says above, look at the teams Henry and De Bryune were in compared to Bruno. If he breaks the record in this team then he deserves extra Yorkshire pudding on his Sunday roast forever.
Since the Liverpool game, I believe that's 16 assists in 20(?) games. So he started slow, but the rate he's been going at since the Liverpool game has been impressive. Since that Fulham game he's only got 2 in 5 but he's still creating so many clear cut chances.
Yeah, I saw some sites having Beckham down for 16 but it seems that 15 was the official number16 assists. The United record is his alone now.
The great thing is Bruno's assists are pretty even in terms of home and away. 9 away and 7 at home. We’ve got home games against Leeds, Brentford, Liverpool and Forest and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bruno broke the record in those games alone but when our away games are Bournemouth, Chelsea, Sunderland and Brighton it’s very likely Bruno does break the record although it’s a shame he spent half the season wasted by Amorim.
Interesting viewpoint. I did think that a few times watching him today.I'd argue that the year of playing in midfield has made him a better player.

Why do you think unlikely?Possible but still unlikely.
I cannot understand why anyone would play him somewhere other than no. 10. There's no one in the world better than him there. He's the kind of player you build your team around.I’m of the inverse opinion — we took the most lethal no.10 in world football and decided to play him deeper and deeper for no specific reason. Fernandes did well - relatively speaking - in central midfield because of his natural ability as a footballer.
If we left him further forward with two midfielders behind him under ten Hag and Amorim I’d have no doubt he’d have hit the 100+ goals and assists club far earlier

It’s why we are playing so well now. Amorim played pretty much everyone in positions they were unfamiliar with an unsuited for. Amad at wing back, Yoro in a back three, Bruno, Dorgu, the list goes on and on. Also worked for Mainoo, he’s been se well rested - It’s made them all better players. Feel sorry for Lammens, imagine how good a goalkeeper he would be now if Amorim played him as left wing back.I agree with this, there's less misplaced passes from Bruno. His ball retention is so much better after his stint in midfield and I'm not speaking about just the killer passes.

I think, he'll do it. We have gained quite a bit of momentum when it comes to scoring from set pieces and he takes most of them. That alone should be enough. And considering who we will be playing against, there is a good chance, that we'll see more of this deep block hit it long style performance that suit Bruno to a tee.The thing that is telling about Bruno is that for basically any other player, 5 in 8 would sound like a big task.
For him it feels more like something he could do in the next 3 or 4 matches.
You must be buzzing for him!I think, he'll do it. We have gained quite a bit of momentum when it comes to scoring from set pieces and he takes most of them. That alone should be enough. definitely. Very challenging times for so many reasonsYes he will.
All the while not making us any better as a team.
Every time he plays, there is a giant hole in our midfield because he is all over the place.
And everytime we have the ball, everything needs to go through him.
Look at United before and after we bought him.
He has made us no better.
MeI mean who honestly gives a shit?

First half of the season version of Rice he wins it. On balance Bruno has been the best player in the league. BUT you can see how the best player in a title winning side of a team who haven’t won a league for more than 20 years gets given the award. It should purely be based on performance but these things do always have a bit of context around them. It’s not always merit. If he gets the record then surely POTY is guaranteed. I don’t see how they can give it to somebody like Rice just because Arsenal shit housed their way to the title.
