Forget about throwing the game at Brighton now. Trash Brighton next week.

Or, just a top team now. His skillset would scale up I think and in teams like Man City or Bayern Munich he would be/have been sensational.Man, I'm curious about how he'd look in a Fergie team. Could be a Ballon d'Or player.
But I'm happy that he's stuck with us despite the circumstances.
I don't know about that particular quote, but I did find this, which seems to be from three months ago:It's almost impossible to believe any tweets you see these days unless they're from verified accounts (Sky/BBC/ESPN etc) or there's attributable video. Engagement chasing football accounts attributing fake quotes to all sorts of pundits/former players has become extremely common now. There's a very good chance this is fake too.
"No, this is Patrick"'Welcome to Manchester United, you're speaking with Bruno Fernandes. How may I assist you today?'
Liverpool won the champions league though to be fair. I have to agree with Carra - United have been too shit to put Bruno in the same category as De Bruyne, Gerrard, Scholes, Lamps etc. but no doubt in the next category. Bruno has been class and I love the guy but we need to win something big before he goes to firm up his spot in the top category
Yeah and the fact he played deeper until JanuaryIf he actually breaks the record against Brighton with the players he's working with compared to who Henry and De Bryune had![]()
I think it’s fair to say Gerrard is a premier league great through, probably sitting outside of any justifiable criteria. He just is. Maybe it’s because he stuck around at one club for his whole tenure, or maybe it’s because he played for England. He was without a doubt up there too, so no one is saying the success of the club should be the sole criteria…?I personally wouldn’t put Bruno in that category either for the same reason. Although this can be considered unfair I guess because the likes of Roy Keane aren’t any worse of a player just because they happen to play for Ireland internationally and can’t always be blamed for not overcoming teammate deficiencies. However even if Gerrard did win a champions league he won feck all else and Carragher constantly considers him up there with the likes of Scholes and Lampard. Let’s be honest if we use this type of criteria then Gerrard and Lampard are both miles behind Keane and Scholes as they won nowhere near as much and the likes of Matt Le Tissier is a bum because he was fighting relegation most years.
I don’t think Carragher said it but it would be stupid if he did. Bruno might not be a great on the level of say a Rooney but on consistent yearly performance he’s definitely a great. I mean there’s an argument he has been a top 5-10 performer in the league almost every season he’s been here.
I think it’s more that Bruno has been an absolute standout player for us for the last 5.5 years and unfortunately doesn’t get the recognition he deserves because he has been playing in a sub-par team. This record is a legitimate achievement that stand on its own and finally gives him the recognition he deserves. If he was playing in United teams of the past, I doubt there would be so much focus on this.I find it staggering that so many are so invested in this. It seemed to be the focus of our play yesterday. Ultimately, as a club, it is irrelevant. Again, I hope the players will just play their normal game against Brighton and not think about this in the slightest.
Yeah, so pleased to see he’s at least equalled it, so he has his name in the history books now. Very deserving. I actually think he’ll create a couple of chances on Sunday, as usual. It’s just whether his teammates can take those chances, as we saw in the Forest game.Seems like we will field a changed team for Brighton so Bruno’s chances of breaking the record might not be as great. Either way, its a great achievement to be joint top.

Yeah agree. It was difficult to watch at times when we were only a goal up but the Bruno focus meant poor execution in the final third, even from Bruno himself. We have got to get away from this focusing on individuals.I find it staggering that so many are so invested in this. It seemed to be the focus of our play yesterday. Disappointing that from Keane.
Bruno never said that and the OTT fake dramatics from him is something I’d expect from Neville but less so Keane.

He took on 2 shots on Sunday that I thought he should've passed tooI agree its overblown but him saying he's been deliveratly looking to pass and not score is not "WOW". If they're all leading to goals what's the issue? Complete nonsense.

Im not sure what the hell else Roy expects Bruno to do more. Bruno is producing levels higher than anyone else on the pitch every game. If players were finishing all the chances Bruno creates, Bruno would be light years above everyone... yet Roy still finds the negative side of it

Why? Bruno has had scant reward for carrying United for the last 4+ years and this would be something to reward him. I have no issue with what we were doing last game and giving it to Bruno at every opportunity so he could hit that record.
Keane is just a mardy fecker who gets little joy from anything football related. What about the guy that scored the goal. The guy that scored the goal gets the plaudits 99% of the time. A player puts it on an absolute plate for a forward with a beautiful pass and the striker wheels off like hes gods gift when a toddler could have finished the chance.
Luke Shaw scored a goal and all the players made a big effort to celebrate with him. Its just nice to see. We aren't playing for anything at this point in the season, we can play for Bruno a little you miserable cnut.
Exactly. How is all that context being ignored?Keane is a miserable man and also a bit of a rent a gob. I like him, but he often says things for the sake of having an opinion.
I also thought Bruno was a little too focused on the record last game but, realistically, it's a meaningless end of season game (which we won) and it's clear the whole team (not just him) are desperate for him to get the record. It's a nice end of season side quest bonus for them. There's nothing to lose and he didn't do anything outrageous to justify Keane's nonsense.
