Now that Manchester City is now banned from CL football, can we achieve CL qualification with this way, or focus on Europa?

We can... we probably won't... and either way it wouldn't matter as City will probably not get banned.

We don't have goal scorer with Rashford out, no one knows when Pogba will be back, we have just 9 wins in the league this season and haven't scored a goal in last 3 league games.

Tbh I don't see us finishing in top 5, unless few players step up.

Don't think EUFA will take it away just like that, probably going to reduce it for one season.

If they took it away, nobody going to take this organisation seriously.

In all honesty, our next games are Chelsea, Watford, Everton, City, Spurs and SU. I can actually see us picking up 3 points max from those games.

I reckon finishing in the top 10 will be a struggle for us. This is a real worry.

Probably not. We're currently 9th and Spurs, Sheffield & Everton are all in better form than us.

I don't feel we're coached well enough to do it without Rashford bailing us out so with that said, it'll all depend on how much Bruno can bring to the party.

Hell of a lot of pressure on a new player, he's not another cog in the system, he's gotta be the answer to all our problems.

I said it in another thread but I think aiming for fifth is foolhardy when City's ban will probably be overturned, at least for next season.

If Rashford didnt get injured I wouldnt have any doubt. Haven't scored a league goal since he got injured though.

No.

We're not just 9th as a fluke. There are at least 8 teams in this league better than us. Arsenal will overtake us by the end of the month too & we'll slip into the bottom half of the league.

Not complaining. That's just where we are now. And most people would surely have seen in coming for months.

Lose tonight and it’s very unlikely that we will, a five point gap to Spurs isn’t a lot but at the rate we accumulate points it’s a lot bigger than it seems. It might take us 4-5 games to get 5 points let alone close a gap. Lose tonight and Europa has to be priority.

I expect we’ll finish 6th-10th, even Arsenal are right behind us now and gaining points at an faster rate.

Glasgow resident these days.
If Fernandes can do the job of a number 10 when others have failed, then we can achieve top 5 finish. Whilst the overall play has been poor to watch, we are still a pretty difficult team to beat. Our lack of goal threat is what is holding us back. Hopefully, Igahlo can chip in with a few goals.
Win a few games and will players coming back, we can gather some momentum.
Ultimately, if we don't, Ole will lose his job as he has been backed in the market now and even Woodward has indicated that we have spent £200m in a recent interview, so he will want a return.

I think we still got players who can make this possible.

Alexis, Lukaku, Young and Smalling doing better in Italy telling its management not players are problem at UTD ?
Schneiderlin, Blind, Shaw, Herrera, DiMaria, Martial, Mikitarian ,Depay, Matic, Fred, Pogba, Alexis, Lukaku were not that bad before they join UTD

Think it will be reduced to a season which will be 21-22. These things always get deferred.

I think it’s almost certain it will be reduced to one year by CAS. City won’t accept that and will drag it out so it’s unlikely ban will be in place next season.

Only way it can be, is that City lawyers find a mistake from UEFA rules. As City already got punished once, they can't simply just go the same CAS route again.

Now as the topic, we have the possibility to do so. But it depends how fast Bruno and Odion get firing, we are lacking goals and unless they really kick on from now, we probably won't end up higher than 7th.

Not that confident

We do have two new signings and some coming back, I'm hoping for a strong finish but we weren't much good with these players. We average one win a month outside of december and have 9 in 25 games. Even a good result tonight can be undone against teams we can't break down.

We'll need Bruno and Ighalo to get going soon and get a few more wins on the board. Jose got our rabble up to 81 points before binning the next season and Chelsea have so far been best of the rest so we might just come up short to these teams if not worse.

If Bruno settles quickly and offers that creativity against difficult defences that we sorely need, then maybe. Also hopefully Rashford will come back and help us in the last few games (if it isn't too late by then).

Its not beyond us or anybody else simply because of the way this league is this season. 3 or 4 wins on the trot is likely to get you 4 or 5 points over the teams around you. We have a tough run of fixtures coming up, but then a fairly good run of 7 or 8 games to finish the season. If we are still within a shout of it when we get to that run, and a couple more players are back, then we have a good chance. Besides there is also the Europa league.

Very unlikely. Spurs and Chelsea have stronger squads with more goal threat. Unless Bruno and Ighalo surprise me.

Our best hope is that we get past Brugge and get a favourable draw in last 16 and get through that one too. By then time we get to the last 8 (if we get that far) we might even have Rashford back for the second leg.

I really don't think we will be in the Champions league next season, we need a good few wins in the next few fixtures but as most are against teams better than us it will be difficult.
Even the games after that won't be easy. We haven't even won 10 games this season and we would need to win quite a few to put us in contention.
If Ole is our manager again next season i fear we may not see champions league football for a while. Unless we somehow win the EL this season but that again is not going to be easy.

Under a tree.
I wonder what happens if we get top 5 and CL next season but Ole had a condition in his contract to finish in the top 4...

Of course we can, but will we? Sadly our inconsistent form hardly inspires confidence. No one will be surprised if we beat Chelsea and lose at home to Watford. The 5th thing is unlikely to be relevant for next season anyway, like many have pointed out. Appeal and deferral the likely outcome.

We’ve won the second least points in the league in 2020 so far. Only Palace have done worse.

Teams like Norwich Bournemouth and Villa have all won more than us. I have no hope of finishing 5th ahead of Spurs and Arsenal let alone Sheff United and Wolves.

Feel slightly sorry for Bruno here being thrown into a mixed-bag of a side and is instantly carrying the weight of being our main creative source from deep.

All those players in Italy are playing in a league that isn't even close in quality.

The players that were good before joining us are a mixtures of players who didn't want to play for us, players bought after injuries, old players and players playing in weaker leagues.

If ighalo hits the ground running and pogba and mctominay come back soon maybe but we have been overall shite all season so no reason to think we will suddenly turn it around. Plus from what i remember we have a hard run in.

Non League
Win tonight and 4th is still on. Lose and the gap is too big so the hope is 5th plus upholding Citys ban. Looking at our team there is no reason we shouldnt. Are we really worse than Spurs/Wolves etc?
To be honest though, if we dont get champions league Id rather miss out on Europa for a year and have 100% focus on the league next year
