"Did you see Fabinho against Red Star & Cardiff?"
De Bruyne down.
De Bruyne down.
Never mind he's good.
Yeah, if makes me wonder if he has a set trophy bonus, regardless of what piece of silverware it is.This cup will cost City. Either through injurjes or fatigue. Hasn't Pep realised yet it's a micky mouse cup.
Didn't cost us the last 3 seasons. and we have the squad to deal with it.This cup will cost City. Either through injurjes or fatigue. Hasn't Pep realised yet it's a micky mouse cup.
It does cost you.Didn't cost us the last 3 seasons. and we have the squad to deal with it.
Nope the players that play most the League Cup games play maybe once or twice in the carling cup per year. If anything we need to go deep in the Carling Cup so every player gets games. It does cost you.
Don't you think the energy you waste in the cup can be utilised for the CL ?
Didn't City start with mostly kids tonight? It does cost you.

The problem is when you get to the quarter/ semi finals, Pep starts playing his strongest team and that's when the fixtures pile up with the CL and PL.Nope the players that play most the League Cup games play maybe once or twice in the carling cup per year. KDB took a heavy knock.[

Yeah, those 3 games plus with a squad where you can replace 5-6 players without anyone noticing are a big deal really. The problem is when you get to the quarter/ semi finals, Pep starts playing his strongest team and that's when the fixtures pile up with the CL and PL.
Pep usually plays mx and match teams till the final. At most its adding 3 games to the first XI players per season. Our CL failings under Pep are a combination of being mentally weak in the competition and weird tactical choices. I can't recall a single CL defeat under Pep where we looked exhasted or tired. Simply out thought (Liverpool), out gunned (Monaco) or bottled massive chances (Lyon, Spurs). The problem is when you get to the quarter/ semi finals, Pep starts playing his strongest team and that's when the fixtures pile up with the CL and PL.
City love League Cup. Have won it more than United...This cup will cost City. Either through injurjes or fatigue. Hasn't Pep realised yet it's a micky mouse cup.
Yes they do. They now have the second most. They did that quickly.City love League Cup. Have won it more than United...
It's not just about minutes that the players play. It's about the extra headache of playing these extra games which can be spent preparing for other games which are more important. KDB played 202 minutes in the League Cup last season. Aguero 264, Laporte didn't play at all. Some players like Sterling play a little more but we have a massive squad to rotate. Mahrez, Bernardo, Sterling, Torres can all play on the wings. You need over 60 games to give them all time. Same with midfield. Lets say KDB is gonna start all 38 league games and every CL game, that means Foden, Gundogan and potentially Bernardo are all trying to get a seasons worth of games beside him. We could barely play Foden last season, remove the league cup and he'd have nothing, and very little for Zinchenko, Cancelo, Jesus etc..
To put this in context, we didn't have a single player over 4000 minutes last season despite winning the League Cup and playing more games than anyone in England. LIverpool had 3, United had 3.
Liverpool had 5 players put up more minutes than any City player in 2 less games.
We are in a very luxurious position where we have the squad to play all comps with a strong team and it can never be an excuse for failing in the CL.
Soriano himself doesn't count Carabao Cup as a trophy so who knows. Just think he doesnt wanna leave trophyless if he eventually decides this is his last season.Yeah, if makes me wonder if he has a set trophy bonus, regardless of what piece of silverware it is.
Of course its about minutes, winning the trophy doesn't matter but players playing football does. The League Cup has zero effect on our performances in our competitions and hasn't in 3 years. It's not just about minutes that the players play. It's about the extra headache of playing these extra games which can be spent preparing for other games which are more important. (CL and PL)
You won this Trophy last season (I think) and it's already forgot about. In fact people were saying it was a crap season.
Injuries are part of football. You don't want your players to get injured, stop playing football. Players can get injured anywhere, even in training. This cup will cost City. Either through injurjes or fatigue. Hasn't Pep realised yet it's a micky mouse cup.
Wait, Spurs play on Tuesday and Thursday?Tweet

It is just typical Mourinho mindgame. He still wants to win, but rotated the team. How's Jose sacrificing the EL then, that's still a pretty strong lineup? Not the first XI players, but then you assume the first XI will play on Thurs and then against us on Sunday, they'll be knackered.
Maccabi in the ECWait, Spurs play on Tuesday and Thursday?
That's insane. God only knows what team they'll put out tomorrow.
You need a mind to play mindgames.. Mou lost his a while back unfortunately. It is just typical Mourinho mindgame. He still wants to win, but rotated the team.
Jose will never admit to fielding a weaker side just as SAF never did.It is just typical Mourinho mindgame. He still wants to win, but rotated the team.
