I saw that every game was live on Sky. Is that going to be the case for the entire competition?

Yep. It also means loads more League 2 to Championship games will be shown too. Can't recommend getting Now TV sports package enough.

Hopefully we are able to score our first goal of the season tonight...

... :(

3-0 win. Good goal from Ndiaye and a clean sheet. Happy days.

No Maupay at all tonight. He's off. DCL didn't come on either, probably to protect him in case he gets a last minute move.

Interesting to see which teams take it seriously or not.

Palace fielded a strong side. 7 starters from the weekend. Henderson, Riad, Guehi, Mitchell, Munoz, Eze, Mateta. Riad taken off after 10 minutes with Richards replacing him, another who started at the weekend. Wharton and Lerma getting 20 mins at the ned as well. Almost their best XI out there at the end.

Good opportunity for a win I suppose after 2 defeats. A chance for a little morale boost.

Other teams a lot more mix and match. Debuts for Berge and Andersen for Fulham.

The Wombles march on after dispatching Premier League Ipswich Town in the cup. We were winning 2-1 but our goalie somehow managed to get beaten in the air by the goalscorer who headed into our net in the 87th minute. Keeper redeemed himself in the shootout by saving 2 pens.

Lucky Newcastle, Forest were the better team and it was their 2nd string vs Toon's first pretty much

shit footballers trying to hit penalties high, always a recipe for disaster

Awoniyi

Genuinely one of the worst pens I've ever seen. Might not have gone in a second goal stacked on top of the real one.

Yeah, Newcastle have been absolute shit so far this season. Southampton were outplaying them when it was 11v11, Bournemouth should have beat them, and now their first XI need pens against Forest's reserves.

fecking hell we've celebrated winning league titles for less time than Newcastle are enjoying this League cup round 2 penalty shootout win.

Just do the draw.

Newcastle beat Forest on penalties to make it through to the 3rd round and celebrate like they've won the league, a bit embarrassing.

feck off back to the changing room for your group photo, we have got a draw to get on with here.

feck is this pre draw shite? 4 teams in Europe at home & 2 away?

It's been nearly 20 minutes since the shootout ended and we're still waiting for the draw,

fecking get on with it!

It's weird. Does help smaller teams get a plum draw but I can't see the overall logic tbh.
I don’t get it, if it’s to do with the extended European competitions as I’ve seen suggested I don’t understand the logic in stopping us playing one another.

Can’t wait for Wolves at home. :boring:
