Yeah a smart midfield rebuild would have been this guy, Sangare and then Tielemans. That way we could have had some athleticism until Baleba ready. Oh and he also would have saved another £8m too.

Stupid post. After one game making judgements? The loss is 100% manager who played low block against CHampionship side! Tielemans is quality but is brought as a squad player. Would say a tier above Eriksen, needs more fitness and will be very good in home games or CL or when we dominate the ball.
Santos will be our best player by the end of the season.
Anyone can say Sangare is the best after he made his debut. but hes also a different player to Santos. We bought 3 midfielders who bring different things. Sangare can be maybe compared to Baleba, but ultimate comparison can be made after some time, not after 90 mins of football.
I don't think it's a stupid post, Utd should have either signed this guy quicker instead of hoping for Tchouameni or signed two athletic CM's so we had cover in case of injury.

But what is really your in depth analysis of how we lost the Hull game?
We didn’t lose because our midfield was overrun. It wasn’t. There was two main reasons we lost:
1) We couldn’t defend ordinaty set pieces consistently well, mainly because of concentration glitches from defenders in aerial duels (Maguire, Heaven, Shaw). Let in two goals by that. Didn’t let them in much apart from similar issues (Heaven losing McBernie another time). Nothing Baleba or Sangare would have done with that.
2) We didn’t create enough chances for all our posession, attempts and crosses. Main issue: lack of proactive movement from the attackers (Cunha and Mbeumo particularily), not fast enough attacking passes in transitional phases (Santos was the exception), not quick enough switches of side and attacking movements to stretch their defence in established play. Too mutch imprecision from key attacking players (Fernandes, Tielemans, Shaw, Maz, Mbeumo, Cunha, Dorgu). Neither Baleba nor Sangsre would have improved this, probably quite the contrary.
Santos was one of the most effective players on the pitch, and really didn’t have any issues with his role, or the role a Baleba or a Sangare would have had in that game if they played.

True. But Ugarte was always been more questionable than Baleba. Ugarte had no PL experience to prove that he is good enough to play in PL and those people relied too much on the stats (Ugarte's tackle/defensive attempted but ignoring the fact that those attempt could also means Ugarte making too many fouls) rather than combination of eye test and stats. Baleba is more proven PL and you don't need to rely on stats to judge Baleba as he is well known with his athleticsim and pace so we know he has these aspects while Ugarte doesn't, which what we need in midfield. In addition, he offers ball carrying ability and press-resistant on the ball, while Ugarte offers nothing on the ball.
