They've changed the scheduling of the Sept/Oct international break so it goes to a 3 week window.
Last game before the break 19th Sept, first game back 10th October.
definitely will be interesting to see who Carrick thinks is the better partner for Baleba or does he go false 9 with Bruno and play more of a diamond formation/4132

Baleba and Tielemans ahould work fine. With both dropping or pushing depending on their strengths. For example, when we're pushed up high I'd expect Baleba to be the deeper one to cover for breaks. Whereas he can push higher to challenge for the ball when we're already sitting deeper. Tielemans might not be the first pass out of defence but he will definitely be invloved in that early build up from deep. When Baleba is asked to carry the ball from deep against a high press opposition, Tielemans should still be deep himself as a passing option, but especially in case the high risk carry of Baleba goes wrong. With Tielemans only pushing further forward when it's a bit safer for him to do so. Meaning we're not expecting him to be sprinting up and down all game. That's Baleba's job.

Although I honestly do hope Carrick actually tries to play a team at some point during the season or in a game without Bruno, you do realise you can still have him in the first 11 with any of those 3 midfield combinations.
The boy is only 22. God forbid that we fail to win the league with him.
I really believe he is the missing piece in that midfield.
No doubt, he could he the signing of the summer, our first player to go up in value for a good while. The window has been dreadful Santos and Teilemens are bang average for 85m with Baleba we really could get away with it.
So four games end of Sept/start of Oct, then another two games in Nov. Would rather they just clump them all together tbh. Take the whole of October to get it all out of the way if they have to. Or even better, do it all in August/Sept and start the season a few weeks later.

I think you'll find plenty arguing that he was far from brilliant, including, I should imagine, Hansi Flick.

We don’t though, because we don’t have fullbacks that can get forward. We can’t play with a midfield 3 and without a front 3 with this squad.
Obviously those midfield 3 options the other poster sent will not be played this season when Bruno is also playing.

He's not in my midfield. He can play on the front line, which is what he does anyway, and with three proper CMs, we may have a chance of not being absolutely over-run by good teams or merely competent ones playing well. As has happened regularly for the last however many years.
Best left winger in Europe. But also a back up left winger at Barcelona last season, and behind two other wingers who cost more, in their priorities this summer. So in Barcelona’s eyes, the 4th best left winger they’ve had in 12 months. Not to mention the rest of the obvious names who are light years ahead of him.

I am sure Gordon's €230,000 to €346,000 wage is so far below his.
That would give us control in midfield but I wouldn’t want Bruno out wide. Our most creative player needs to be central to pick out his killer passes

Fair point, but the larger point still stands that Barcelona have done a much better job of stuffing their cabinets with trophies in recent years than United.
Over the last 5 years, Barcelona have won 3 La Liga titles, whereas United have won 0 PL trophies. I think it's safe to say that Barcelona have performed to a much higher level than United in recent years. But then again, perhaps league trophies aren't relevant.
To be fair to your touche, the PL doesn't have that many truly top class wingers at the moment. On his day, there's Saka, and then there's Doku, but Rashford -- when he's happy (which never be true again) doesn't have a lot of competition in the PL.
One winger I really like over Rashford and if there were a pry to him loose pry I would...is Kroupi of Bournemouth. But there's no chance we're going to pry him loose, not any time soon at least.
Who would you list if you were asked to list 10 better LW than Rashford -- a happy Rashford, not the dickhead who spent his pre-training time in Belfast getting wasted -- in the PL?
