Carlos Baleba

Anderson, ideally a ball progressor like Stiller to partner him as see us being priced out for Wharton.
Not sold on stiller, if amorim is here to stay, stiller doesnt have the defensive ability to play in 2. Ideally we should be looking at a partner for mainoo. Does Anderson and mainoo work ? it can, dont think wharton and mainoo can play together, baleba and mainoo can work as well. Cant write off mainoo so soon.

For around £50-60m I'd still give this guy a shot. Sure he's having a pretty bad season so far, but he's already shown what he is capable of and my money would be on him recovering his form in due time. He has all the attributes to flourish in our team and even beyond Amorim would be a good fit I'd imagine.
Don't see Brighton letting him leave for that figure

Joao pedro left for 50-60 m iirc . He scored 10 goals and assisted another 5 last year . Its all about how much baleba is willing to push .

don't really agree ....mainoo is one pace all the time and he can't play in a 2 man midfield bc he's just not mobile enough

Anderson feels like he has the mobility to cover someone with less defensive ability in a two. I don't think we could ever afford it, however Anderson and Baleba may lack the creativity which a partnership with Wharton could provide.

For someone worth £100 million he gets taken off at half time a lot .
Taken off tonight playing for Cameroon

Brighton might just find themselves in a bind. They priced him out of a move when their whole business model relies on those moves. Caicedo worked out. If Baleba ends up in Turkey or Ligue 1 in 2 or 3 years time, then the next time they find themselves in that position it may be a whole lot harder for them to dig in. And they may find players more reluctant to extend contracts.

I'm very glad from what I've see of him that they did it though. I have never seen anything from him that puts him valued at 40M, nevermind 100M. I will say that I only started paying attention to him after this summer so its a very small sample size.

He's not worth close to that, but he has the potential to be a very good player z it's just pretty risky.

I think it's about time he got out of his own head. This capitulation has now reached really worrying levels as we're almost in December and he has an ongoing career to be concerning himself with.

He's gone from one of the most promising prospects in the league to someone who can't buy two halves of football and that's surely alarming for club and country.

Even if a move to us fell through and he's gutted about it, he can't let it impact him to this extent as it then looks like he doesn't have the gumption for the highly stressed environment he'd be walking into.
